I love this channel, good info, good professional advice, all done with real sense of humor, Thanks for you commitment to game of tennis
Really nice video, especially the end about how you canât go far wrong. My grandfather used to say âItâs the fool, not the tool.â Itâs so easy to get caught up on all the marketing. Get something that wonât break the bank and learn to play. đ
I love how you are so chill during these tough times. As a coach I know thay bizz must be poppin. Thank you!
I agree with Lorenzoâs comment below. My son has the Wilson Clash 100L and I tried using it the other day and it felt very maneuverable and easy to use. I think this is a great racket for a beginner, and easy on the arm.
I am actually just about to buy the Tecnifibre rs 300 tomorrow. After seeing your video I am really glad I did enough research to come to this one on my own. So it was really nice to see your video confirm what I thought would be best
Currently playing and loving the PureStrike Gen3 16x19. I did try out the Clash but personally didn't like the feel of it but I should try it again sometime. I was torn between the Blade and PS during my last demo period. I do have to disagree with the PureAero for beginners as it's pretty stiff, great spin but control is tough (played APD/PA for years).
Would have been nice to consider pricing/investment for beginners. I would not recommend a beginner to buy a $200+ racket, they should work into that price range as their interest and enjoyment of the sport grows. I would say get something decent for around $100-$150 at most and if you really start developing/enjoying the game start to demo rackets since they, hopefully, would have some proper technique and can really test out different frames.
Love this guy. He's hilarious. âyou like bananas!? This is your racquet!â
Sorry to be offtopic but does anybody know of a trick to log back into an instagram account..?
I was dumb forgot my account password. I would love any tricks you can give me!
@Kaison Dante instablaster :)
Getting into tennis this winter when the snow hits. Been playing competitive badminton for 8 years and want to pick up tennis loving the videos! I work in a pro shop too so I can demo anything and everything we have. Definitely biased towards Yonex but that Pure Drive looks great.
Hi, Tennis Spin! I watch all your videos (just about...); and, enjoy them! But this is the most practical one for me. Picking the racket that will give me the edge: Give me big and light. But, give me your advise always. When it comes to racket names, you seem to know it all; and I am thankful for your insight on these products.
Hi, Mr. Spin! I'm from Brazil and I (we) really enjoy your content and videos!đđđđ So, could you make a video about accessories? We often get playing under that "one for each" sun! And, we really enjoy to know more about sport's sunglasses, sunscreens, etc... Congrats for you channel, we love you from here, best regards!!đđ
Play with the 100L Clash with Solinco strings. Love the racquet.
Now that's a good evaluation of Rackets.Bravođđ
Excellent selection! Demo Clash 100 (Pro) with others. The 100 head size feels like 110 on other rackets. String it with full bed of poly it will become a spin monster and super comfy. Personally, the grip feels more rectangle than rounded.
Just moved to the Pro from my old worn-out pre-cortex Aeroprodrives. Very different racquet and a pure joy to play with. As soft as the T-2000s I had as a kid.
This is exactly the video I needed. Thanks!
I would make a clear distinction between the clash and the babolats regarding stiffness (tennis elbow) and power. If you never hit before I would clearly go for the clash 100
Very good at explaining , thank you so much !
Would you still recommend the Wilson Blade today to get a better feel and help develop better stroke method? Also, which one: 16x19 or 18x20? Loved the Pure Drive, and I'll definitely check out that Pure Drive you mentioned here to get more feel.
Demos I enjoyed: Yonex EZONE 100, Clash V2, Pro Staff 97 v13 (PS97).
Thank you for your input on recommendations, they help a lot đ
I know some players who choose frames based on color or stick to just one brand haha
Calling me out I see
Cosmetic is the absolute LAST factor for me and same should be for everyone else. I don't care if it's a pink racquet with Unicorn stickers, if it hits great I want it!
About these recommendations, I don't understand how two completely opposite racquets lol the Pure Drive (71 RA?!) and the Clash (55 RA) could even compare at all for the beginner/intermediate players!
These players absolutely first and foremost need FEEL! Pocketing, flex, "connection" with the ball. Then they can understand what's happening intuitively right off the string bed and DEVELOP their game. It's so much more enjoyable and LESS frustrating when you are actually connected with the racquet.
I would absolutely not recommend these to my friends. I would stick with low RA like Head Gravity or Angell K7 Red or even the Wilson Blade v7 16/19 which you gave an honorable mention.
Absolutely NO ONE new to the game or trying to develop their game should go anywhere near Babolat. Hype company, not the right stick for majority of people 3.0-4.0
Thatâs unfortunate for them
@@K4R3N The Clash has a unique design its stiffness is low but the racquet's cross section stiffens up when a ball is hit hard.
same thing happend with strings, some people just use strings with colors " thats why you see a lot of solynco hyper g around recreational young playrrs
I have used pure drive many years. I developed shoulder sore. I believe its stiffness. I star clash 98. Very comfortable. Easy to swing. It make me change to proper swing. Pure drive is little clumsy to swing. I hope I can use blade to develop good swing. That will good for arm
I bought my head extreme mp and yes the grey and neon green color was a big choosing point
Thanks for all your videos. They are great. Just one quick question. Which one will be your pick between Wilson Pro Staff and Wilson Blade for an intermediate to advance junior?
A junior that really wants to play good. I will really appreciate your input on this.
Thanks in advance.
Super helpful. Thank you!
Super Video. Thanks for the reco. It is so useful
I love this video! Thanks for your spin! My kid just told me: âI want you to have the blue one (Pure Drive) for yourself.â
Hi! What hybrid string set and tension you think is the best fit for the clash 100 and for the yonex e zone 100 dr? Thanks
Sir, you should do a video on what feel in a racquet actually means, and how it affects a player's game, right from a beginner to an advanced level. "Feel" feels like a really confusing term at least for me.
Feel is when you feel the ball on the stringbed
Thereâs tennis lingo I donât understand. I donât know what âplayability â means in the racket descriptions.
Could you pls compare the new yonex ezone 98 tour vs vcore 97 hd 310. Many thanks!
First of all, love your vids! So these 110 Wilson Federers I just bought used for my gf and I probably won't do us much good if we're wanting to learn to be better players? Both of us haven't played in many years and were recreational players at best.
Great video! I just bought a Head Ti S6 racquet yesterday but I was looking at some reviews including this one and have decided to exchange it and get the Pure Drive racquet. I am between beginner and intermediate level.
I was wondering about the recommended Babolat Pure Drive size?? I know they come in different head sizes. Cheers :)
Iâm using the T-fight 300 XTC 16/19. before i used the Radical mp but i think the Tecnifibre is a Radical in better. I like the feeling more. I love them!
would be good to sort them by price point , the extremes Clash at $270 vs Dunlop at $200
Fantastic video! I think people go crazy trying to find the perfect racket! Your right, if so many people of success with the top sellers, you should be okay to run (hit) with it đ
What string do you recommend for the wilson blade 98(?) 18x20 and 16x19?
Hello from Brazil đŸđŸđŸ Just started to play with a Pure Drive 2018...What a powerfull racket!!!
I started with the PD too. So many good memories! Good luckđ
I really enjoy this guyâs videos
I have a Ti S6 and he's kinda right I feel like I'm barely touching the ball and it's flying way far it's actually a little annoying having to play so delicately so I'm looking to grab an ezone 100 and also maybe like actually get good at tennis who knows. I will say though the stick doesn't feel terrible to me just super strong
Been playing Prince Graphite Comp forever...old school flat hitter, recreational player but not a fanatic and now 69. If I was to even consider another racquet, would be curious to hear suggestions. Perhaps Prince's updated Comp successor?
Harry said at 12:53 "You can't lose with anything here." Looking forward to buying one of those racquets and starting my winning streak! LOL.
What strings and tension do you recommend on the Pure Aero? Thanks!
I used to sell tennis racquets at Paragon Sporting Goods in NYC. I would not recommend most of these frames to a beginner. They are too stiff and unforgiving for beginners who tend to mishit the ball most of the time. For an intermediate, I would recommend most of them . There are lighter and larger head sizes that would be preferable for beginners, e.g., the Wilson Clash oversize (I agree with your recommendation of the Clash Light), the Babolat Pure Drive 107 or 110, the Wilson Blade 104, the Head Graphene 360+ Extreme S or Lite, the Radical S and the Head Graphene 360 Instinct Lite. My top picks for beginners would be the Head Gravity MP and Gravity S or Lite because they are forgiving frames and they can move up to an intermediate level and not have to invest in a new frame. I would never recommend that a beginner string their frame with polyester string. Some beginners will insist on looking at frames for advanced players because they believe that no one will want to play with them if their racquet telegraphs they are a beginner. Do your best to talk them out of that mindset and into a frame that will make the game easier and more fun to play. If you sense the customer is lying about their skill level - insisting they are good players but seem to have no idea what they are talking about - then ask them how they hold the racquet to hit a forehand. If they don't lay the wrist back or hold a backhand grip or if they swing the racquet stiff armed and don't turn their shoulders then they are really total beginners and you have to make the appropriate frame recommendation. When I bought my first racquet, the store recommended too tight a string tension. So, I do agree to go with the mid tension suggested by the manufacturer.
What would you recommend from yonex for âentry levelâ intermediates? Iâve been looking at the Yonex EZONE 100L and it seems like a good pick although Iâm wavering between that and babolat racquets
@@kaesiy2857 Hi. The EZONE 100L seems like a sound choice. You can add a leather grip and some lead tape at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions later on to make it heavier as you improve. Since it's a light and very stiff racquet with a 68 RA, don't string it too tight. I suggest you string it with a multifilament or a synthetic gut at mid tension; maybe add 1-2 lbs. to the multifilament to tame the power those strings have. Avoid the stiff polyester strings until you improve and remember to drop the tension on poly strings by about 10%. I like the Yonex over the Babloat - even though it's more expensive - because the isometric head shape makes the main strings nearly the same length which really increases the stability of the racquet and gives a more consistent response.
Ted Neanderthal Ted Neanderthal Thank you for the response! Would you say that stringing my racquet with synthetic gut at 50 would be in a good mid tension range or would that be too high?
@@kaesiy2857 Yonex recommends stringing that frame between 45 and 60 lbs. That is a very big window! Which synthetic gut will you be using and what is its thickness (AKA gauge, e.g., 15, 16, 17, 18)? [The lower the number, the thicker the string; the higher the number, the thinner the string. Thick strings last longer; thin strings are more powerful and offer more spin but are less durable. The letter "L" after the number indicates it is a little thinner than the standard gauge.] For durability and playability, I would suggest a 16 or a 16L gauge. It seems to me that 50 is too loose. I think the lower 45 lb. string recommendation is for polyester strings and that for syngut and multifilaments the actual tension range is 50 to 60. Since it's a light frame and you will be using a syngut, I suggesting going with either 52 or 53 lbs.
Between new pure drive and Dunlop FX 500 which is better?
What tension would you string the Ezone 100l and recommended strings?
I am using Willson Blade racket. I am feeling comfortable with, much more than with Babolat Pure Aero.
ХпаŃĐžĐ±ĐŸ! Đ„ĐŸŃĐŸŃОД ŃĐŸĐČĐ”ŃŃ!
I just got the clash 100l and that thing is awesome
Can you give your comments on Volkl racquets. The strings are great
Hello from Brazil!
Could you please do a video about Pro Stock tennis rackets?
Love to see the neighborhood where I spent so much time
I wish they had the Yonex Ezone in red color, lol. Good point on just based on brand and cosmetics sometimes.
I really liked the that new Technifibre T-Fight, but I couldn't get used to the new Yonex. My son loves that blade v7, but is looking for something more balanced. I'm waiting for the new Pure Drive though...
The Yonex Ezone 98 (not the Tour) has similar specs to the Blade but little bit more head light balance might swing faster for your son versus the Blade
Hi. I have started tennis 6 months ago and I think progressed a little bit. Now Iâm using blade 98 -305gr v7. Is this racquet too early for me or should I go with 100sq and lighter ones? Thanks.
What are the characteristics of Black Pearl Poly? What is something similar?
Is Wilson Burn 4 a good choice for an intermediate player?
what's that all white racquet on the wall. on the bottom under the head xtreme ???
Tennis Spin, i was at a club working and was talking to the pro about getting back into the game. We talked about my game and he recommended a head speed s for me. Any thoughts on that racquet and a equivalent to it? I know i need to play with them first. Thanks for any help possible
I see the slinger portable ball machine in ur background. Give us ur take. Thinking of a purchase. They have partnered with Dunlap. I have looked at some utube videos showing SLINGER AND pros demonstrating.
Hello i am using a microgel 98 head size and 295 g. What do you thing about this racquet? What is the pozitive of a 98 head size according to 100. I started with this rocket than a long break, now i am playing with this same racquet again. A friend of mine ( she is so younu) playing professional she is using a radical mp 100( if i am not wrong) loved my racquet. I am not bad but i wanna learn the technic. Which one teachs me technic? I fancy head but maybe a wilson or yonex. I am 28 by the way but not a athlete or a big guy.
Thanks for the useful info, man! Quick question: Which Babolat would you recommend to someone who used to play with the Aero Pro Drive? Looking forward to hear your thoughts on this.
Hey! I know it has been a year since this comment but what did you pick? I'm in the same position
@@israelmorales8048 I went with the Pure Aero
What would be the equivalent dunlop of old dunlop 300g (oversize) ?
great videos.. say people to subscribe... you need it. Keep on
Yup... Tried the new Pure Drive.. Much better than the old. Very good racquet. I use a 3rd gen Pure Strike. Found that the new Pure drive sits right in the middle between the old Pure Drive and the 3rd Gen Pure Strike. The new Pure Drive has a feel moving towards the 3rd grn Pure Strike but not as muted. Which should suit most people. For me I love the muted feeling of the PS 3rd Gen.
Im using Yonex Ezone 98 with lead at 10 2 , its great
Yonex ezone 100 is very bad in feel
My experience with the Head Ti.S6 and Ti.S5 is a little different. I find that they are *so* light that there is no plow through, meaning that they have less power than a modern stiff but heavier racquet, not more. You can swing them quickly because of the low weight, but there is no mass either. (f=m*a) It's true that beginners like them because they're light and easy to just poke the ball, but I think more experienced players can use them to generate tons of spin with the right technique and the ball will stay in the court nicely.
hmmm, i always thought of the cheaper / lighter racquets as beginner racquets. who's gonna invest that much in a first racquet? im advanced and have been using the pure drive for a decade now. thinking about the clash just for something less stiff, comfort, spin and to switch up when i want. hope you do a video on more advanced racquets and why you consider them to be so.
Lol if ur an âadvancedâ player then why are you looking at a video that is titled best tennis racquets for beginners and intermediatesđ€
@@RadynMoradkhani lol.....there is a difference between playing tennis and tennis racquets, in case you werent sure. before youtube there wasnt a lot of detailed info like this channel has on equipment.
please do this video again as it is 2 years older and there are huge numbers of new releases in the market now.
I was a tennis pro-coach for 25 years in the 70's, I quit for quite a long time now. I know how to play seriously but I want to play it for fun & recreation!! Which racquet will you recommend me now at age 69???
Please do a video on stringing recommendations for beginners.
Try a good syn gut like Gamma TNT2, Head syn gut pps, or Tourna syn gut armor, or a budget multi filament like Head velocity mlt. String at it the middle of the recommended tension, or a couple of pounds lower for the racquet you're using. That should work fine. Later, move to a hybrid with a poly in the mains, then to a softer full poly like gamma moto soft 17, or head lynx tour 17. To start, for each string at the middle recommended tension, or a couple of pounds lower.
dont use syn gut. There are so many better strings on the market now.
Currently Im using a hybrid, soliinco confidential 16l on the mains at 54 and nxt 16l on the crosses at 57. Works and feels great and i am rapidly improving my groundstrokes and can now spin the ball. On an old head liquidmetal 4 racquet.
@@kingnike12 ok, what are your suggestions?
@@ReidVV I would say start with a multifilament like head velocity mlt. Poly might feel a little too stiff for beginners. Depends on the way you hit the ball. How long have you been playing?
Hey, it's almost been 3 years? perhaps there's a new update lineup for beginer-intermediete rackets?
They recommended me the Wilson ultra 100L v.4 as a complete beginner,, any thoughts???
What's your take on the various "team" version (or equivalent) of the various lines? Are they worth the savings--decent sticks?
Great video. As an intermediate player I happened to use a Head microgel radical MP 98 inch head size. Well balance in weight and power.
Thats an advance players stick also
How about the asics bz 100, it is pretty good for the price in my opinion
Nice review ! I'm a beginner, but want to rise. 40 years, 5,6 feets (172 cm), 72 kg, - confused - FX 500 or FX 500 LS ? What a better choice ? And are the characteristics of FX 500 and FX 500 LS different, and LS is not so good as regular one - am I right ? Because my purpose is to get a better one, the characteristics not just logo "fx500". Thank You
How about head graphene 360+ speed mp?
Hi, thank you from all your videos. I am always so lost with all the products offered for tennis. I have a question. U mentioned the tfight rs300 as a good choice for beginner/intermediate level. can u tell me the difference (in terms of play) between that and the 295(which I am currently using). It would be very helpful.
Can U help me choose a racket: Aero lite or Aero team?
Is anyone know exact model of Pure drive ( the blue one ) he said " not in the market" ?
Just went through a demo program featuring all those racquets. Yonex EZONE 100 was the hands-down winner. That saidâŠbuy whatever racquet you want for your own reasons. The important thing is that you get out on court and have fun.
Thanks mate
I am 1.92, 100kg 29 years old. Ex-professional water polo player. Should I get Clash 100 or Clash 100 pro?
Anyone if they can share experience of using Tecnifibre 300RS ? I am 37, average built, started playing last year, now looking to move from beginner to a bit intermediate level & looking to buy one racquet for the same. After research on my end my other choices/ options are Head Gravity 360+ MP & Yonex Ezone 100. I am liking Ezone a bit more but m worried it's too stiff ? Gravity is good but seems dull with very less power. So Review of Tecnifibre 300rs here opens up another geniune option . Any suggestions would be great help.
Wilson Clash 100 so far the best racket ever I've used in 20 yrs. M a fan of OS Prince Graphite which I enjoyed for so many years
What type of string and tension do you use?
@@bournejason66 17 RPM BLAST at 50 lbs
kissmyab is it arm friendly?
@@bournejason66 yup 'coz I hv some issues with tennis elbow. Using lower string tension helps but if u want, u can try Wilson Sensation which is more forgiving than RPM Blast.
How can I order a racket from your shop?
i have a tfight 300, its wonderful
After 7mths, is the pure drive your number 1 now?
Wish my speed pro taught me technique, would have saved a ton of money on lessons and drills. Guess Iâll have to get a blade.
Actually I agree with that, I used a Graphene Touch Speec Pro for a while and got punished for poor strokes as it was so low powered. I eventually went back to my Aeropro Drive.
I really like my Ezone DR 100 with lead. Ive been playing more years than i care to admit.
k
The 2021 pure drive is not available until 9/24!
Can I buy the one you just advertised? what's the grip size?
i just bought the clash and it should arrive soon but i originally wanted to try the babolat (banana edition) for spin but i'm interested in what you said about that new pure drive
which radical MP? 360? 360+? XT?
I use a pure aero and the other day I noticed I forgot my racquet when I pulled up to the club (I just started in November...) I borrowed a pure drive and I liked it way more, it felt very forgiving. But Iâm not crazy enough to spend another 200$ when my current racquet works fine
Look for one used. I picked up a Pure Drive at a "Play it again" sports store used for 60.00 looked great. Put a new grip and overgrip and it was good to go.
Radical MP or Pro is a very demanding raquet. Better iff buying a speed pro or extreme!
What about for Kids in different age groups like 7 to 10, 10+?
Whatâs the difference between the Clash 100L and 100UL? Where can I get a couple used ones, including the Clash Tour cuz I canât afford the new ones :(
100L is 280grams in weight & 100UL is 265grams in weight.
Other specs are almost same.....just depends on how heavy u want......like clash 100 is 295 grams.
nice !
How about head gravity? For what level is that stick?
Head Gravity is very good
Beginner = MP
Intermediate = Tour
Advanced (like really advance) = Pro
I stopped playing 10 yrs ago. What racket do you recommend that feels close to the Prince Graphite?
I also used to play with the second gen pure drive but i feel most comfortable with the Graphite.
IMO just pick up a Graphite again, I use a Phantom pro 93p and love it, caution though it is low powered and unforgiving with its 93 head size if you cant generate your own power get a bigger head size but if you can generate your own power and dont mind smaller head size it is amazing, all the control you could want and if you pair it up with natural gut which I recommend you get plenty of power too and the natural gut will last quite a while in a small dense pattern such as 93 with 18x20 especially if you hybrid with a soft co poly like alu power soft/4g or Volkl V-Torque.
Head gravity pro. Same type of feel, less heavy. Maybe better for you now.
Tecnifibre T-Fight 295 - my recommendation, 100in Headsize and plays great as well...
Is it arm friendly?
For me yes - I had no issues
What is your tennis shop called?
I love my 2015 Pure Drive. Guess I should try the 2021
Demo first. The 2015 Pure Drive is an excellent stick and when strung right, with good string at the right tension, will be very close, if not better than the new pure drive.
James Reid VanVoris Thanks for the reply. I have tried the 2018 version and was unimpressed. Guess I should be thankful I have a 2015. It really is a sweet racquet. I only use RPM blast. Love that string!
Can anyone pls tell me how is pure aero team
