- It’s my first time playing The Last of Us Part 1 on PS5. I'm going in completely blind, I know nothing about the series, the gameplay, the mechanics, I only knew 2 names at the start, Ellie and Joel, and that was because of the TV adaption. There's been so many jumpscares already, probably many more to come. I hope you enjoy this playthrough as I try to find as many treasures, secrets, and try survive!!

1:06:35 This is the scene that made the game for me. I was having fun with the story and the characters, but this was the moment that I really loved this game.
It’s quite stark when they make the comparisons about what Ellie hasn’t experienced, that hits more for me than the wild stuff she has gone through, missing the simple stuff is making the impact

So when Joel said she doesn't know what loss is, this is false, though he doesn't know.
In fact Joel is the only one of them whom still does have family.
@@VW20-bq9in It's a mixed bag. Joel's pain is clutched so tightly to him that even though Ellie's gone through a worse life than any child should, all Joel can see is his own misery. Almost like being in so much agony that you think you have a monopoly on pain. Joel remembers a world that Ellie has no context for. Losing his daughter was extreme, but watching the world devolve when you remember what it was like before that is a hard thing to carry, too. It's part of what fuels his bitterness--and would be there even if Sarah had survived (though Joel, himself, probably wouldn't have survived if he hadn't hardened to the world).
So in a way, Joel's right that Ellie doesn't understand the kind of loss he's seen to the scale and the magnitude that he's been through, but he's wrong in thinking that he has a monopoly on pain just because of his own traumas, which Ellie has had too many herself.
13:19 My God Joel's got to be one hell of a strong swimmer. He's full clothed, has boots on that are soaked, a few guns and a full backpack of supplies that is also getting wet, there is a current in the water, but he can stay above the water swimming with no issue.

I love how much Joel and Ellie have bonded by this point she ran away from the compound because no offense against Tommy she didn't wanna go with him because as she said she would be scared being with anyone else but Joel she doesn't just see Joel as her friend but as a father figure 😭🙏♥️

When i upgraded my 9MM it went from 6 rounds to 14 rounds and being able to have as much as 28 rounds for it upgraded.And when you finish this game you can play on new game+ and keep your upgrades.
If you shoot someone with a helmet in the head, it won't kill them, it will just knock the helmet off. If someone throws a molotov at you, it's not advisable to just stay there and wait for it to hit you
i dont personally understand how spread of pellets is upgrade to weapon? :D Just making it weaker at range

I think Joel wanted to pass Ellie onto Tommy because he and Ellie were getting so close and seeing that picture of his daughter and Ellie saying that she wasn't Sarah, really brought that home to him. Kind of "I built this wall around myself to let anyone get that close, so I will never hurt like that again, and this girl still got inside. Now I've got to push her away otherwise I could get hurt again." Then he realized shortly after that leaving her to continue on without him would hurt just as bad, so they're going to finish this no matter what.

I always thought the mission was to get her to someone who would get her to the fireflies. Wasn't this a smuggling mission?
Yeh, but I think that changed when Tess died, I could be wrong though
@PhoenixNat original mission was to get her to the fireflies at the captial building. After Tess, Joel wanted to keep the promise to her and didn't know any other firefly to drop her off at. And after Tess, Joel had no reason to return to Boston. So he headed out for the one firefly he knew, his brother.

@@jessebutler1728more like Joel's mission began to change. It's in the hydroelectric plant and the farm house he showed more feeling for Ellie. But the mission wasn't yet complete because it was to deliver her to the fireflies, not Tommy. Tommy was to give him the info where the foreflies were but after Henry and Sam, then Joel didn't want to lose anyone else and wanted Tommy to deliver Ellie the rest of the way. That was before the raid on the hydroelectric plant. Atleast how I see it.
@sandmandf I believe he asked Tommy for supplies so he could return to Pittsburgh if I'm not mistaken. Ellie was no longer his priority. He wasn't looking for Tommy to tell him where to go. That's the only reason he told Tommy about Ellie's secret.

If you remember, Sarah actually fixed his watch for him since it broke. She said he'd never do it for himself so she did it for him. So it is the same watch. It's why it has so much meaning to him. He's had it for god knows how long.
Okay, I had definitely forgotten the scene, and thought it was new, not that she had repaired it - this changes everything and of course makes sense why he was wearing it in the old picture.

@@miller-joel No, she didn't, common misconception. She puts it in a box and gives it to him. The only dialogue we have around it is "you kept complaining about your broken watch" No reason to think she bought a new watch, simply fixed his old one. And the TV show further supports this. Unless you have some information that supports she bought an entirely new one.
