Great to see how something like this comes together. I generally find environments intimidating, but this breaks it down nicely. Thanks for the video.
This is definitely one of the most interesting art tutorial type videos I’ve seen in awhile! Awesome content
I'm currently doing these kind of interiors shots and layouts for school project. That's great inspiration and wisdom hehe! Thank you for sharing these videos for free, I'm highly considering buying your book !
This was beyond helpful, thank you! I'm learning to do environments and rooms for comics, and I've been having trouble with understanding how the camera angles work, and your explanation helped so much.
Thanks so much! I want to do an updated version of this video years later and use it for animation. Maybe I'll get to that sometime soon
@@moderndayjames Please make this!
Yessssss so excited to watch 😁
Awesome! Very cool concept. Also nice to hear that Silent Hill 2 soundtrack I hear in the background at around 6:00 :O Brought back tons of nostalgia
this was super helpful thanks! I'm working on a theatre set design for school and was struggling with the relationship between characters and the set (since im not an actor). I think the idea of seeing it as a video game scene will really help me visualize it. THANKS!
This was incredibly helpful, you've made concepts like lighting and how it affects a scene really interesting. I'm excited to see more! (Also, love the music)
This is absolutely perfect, I know its an old video now but thank you so much! I've been struggling to find a way to design the board concept for a board game I'm making, but this video helped a lot!! Thankyou!!
Best concept art video on the internet. I learnt more in one video than in the whole school term. Thanks James
I am so glad to find a channel like this!!!! I am in love with this channel. It is exactly what I wanted to learn and know more about!!! Thank you soo much to even exist to create this channel!!
You are INSANE sir!! Thanks for taking the time to make this... Been trying to learn more for cartoon backgrounds and this helps a lot
I can't help but comment. You videos have been very informative and extremely helpful. You breakdown your process in very clear and consice manner that make intimidating subjects such as perspective and set design digestable. I'm excited to try out some of the principles you've taught in my own artworks and I look forward to your book! :)
Your art is amazing. This channel helped reignite my love for drawing which I have unfortunately left behind a few years back because I got too indulged in the internet. Thanks for the videos!
amazing video!! so helpful, I love how thorough and informative you were with your process and techniques behind it. tysm
Awesome video! You are always so inspiring and helpful. I am going back to watch some of your perspective videos and cant wait for the book! Keep up updated :D
so important to think about time of day and how that effects interior lighting scenarios, this channel is a hidden jem
This is a great video! I wanted a better understanding on this subject and you delivered, thanks.
Always enjoy seeing these kind of sets of fzd design, interesting to see how they do it. Awesome vid

Thanks. Great job
This is still one of my favorite videos on CZcams
I didn't know your channel until yesterday. It's the 2nd video I'm seeing and it is really amazing! I would like to draw a comic book and maybe one day some concept art for video games. Your explanations are very interesting because environments are important in story telling and I think defining them will now help me to write an interesting scenario from the general idea of the story. If the action takes place in the future it is indispensable to create the world of the story. Watching your video gave me motivation back to keep on my story with a different but so important angle. Again thanks a lot!
Wow. And you just made this look so easy too
Beautiful!
Your videos are so good! Thank you for making them :)

thanks Daniel! I'm thinking of starting this series over but totally sci fi themed. Also check out Brother Baston if you haven't seen him, he makes cooler designs than me!
@@moderndayjames Definitely consider this! I think many people will enjoy it and find it useful. As someone who's taking a class at brainstorm school soon, a series like this would be great additional help.
Cheers for your work!

Aspiring concept artist lerning the traits...bought your book. Keep it up! /eDGe
I’d love to see more game map concept designs James!

@@moderndayjames looking forward to it.

Hey good video. I'm also working on a world but I'm running into some complexing problems because of the hole idea of my word it's as far as I know totally original down to creation
this will be good for animation for my new channel
i just discovered your channel and it is awesome. ty for making this. And give us your flexible brush, if its possible.
The brush I use is just the default pencil brush on Autodesk Sketchbook, and the brushes I use for value are the default chalk brushes on Photoshop!
ahh thank you for answer. i thought you was working in photoshop.
3:46 speedrunners be like: did he say something?
This room creeps me out, seriously the atmosphere was very frightning
What kind of practice / grinding should i do to be able to draw lines / object in perspective without perspective grid ?? i need that skills
Oh...My...God......!!!!!!!!!!!! This video is Super Fucking Helpful!!!! Thanks A Lot James!!!
What equipment/apps etc do you use to draw digitally? :D
Dude , you should do a comic on that story.
I have the most trouble trying to keep elements the right scale when designing sets.
