Hi Amy! Thank you for sharing! There’s nothing wrong with staying within a budget range. That’s the beautiful thing about this hobby! I really loved the association you have with your late brother and a certain pen/nib. It was really heartwarming.
I name some of my pens too. If the first time I look at a pen, and a name pops into my head, that's the name. I have 3 named pens: Lola for the Pelikan M400 Tortoiseshell White, Jaws for the Lamy 2000 Steel, and Batman for the Lamy Studio LX with a 14k 2-toned nib. If you like bigger pens, take a look at Ranga Pens. They have some larger pens, with nice acrylics or ebonites, and a variety of nib options. I have to see these Waterman flex videos. Very interesting in building pens. I know how you feel though. I like beautiful 2-tone nibs, dimensions and bodies. It's not always easy or cheap to get them all in one go, but it is possible. Those are the pens that bring me the most pen joy. Excellent, fun video. You have such a refreshing take on how you play within this hobby. Very fun.

Lovely video! I realized that I'm not a broad girl either. 😅 I have one broad nibbed pen and because I wanted to try it out. But, it's too big for me. I prefer extra fine, fine or medium nibs. I want to experiment with flex nibs next.
Did you buy that purple Sailor PG with the zoom nib? LOL. I only bought my currently favorite pen because you snagged that one away from me. Thanks! I would have never bought it otherwise. And now it's my new favorite nib.

I didn't, but I'm glad you found your new favorite! Mine is a 1911s with black body... It's the perfect size for my son 😅

I don’t name my pens (except for one, that I really wanted to have a more fitting name). I do name my cars, furniture and plants though, so I get you!
Those are things I have but have never named. My sister names her cars though; her first car was Patrick and now she has Leonard. :)
