Hey everyone, it's here! Hazbin Hotel has been so inspiring to me lately, that as a fan I've been inspired to make songs about these interesting characters, and I'm so honored to be able to collaborate with the pilot VA for Husk, Mick Lauer, as well as the absolutely amazing Jonathan Young, for my song about this iconic drunk cat demon! Lyrics, on-point. This actually has potential to be animated like Addict, it's very story-based. A lot about Husk's origins. And I'm so hyped for Mick to continue voicing Husk in Hazbin, also can't wait for this to be animated. Phenomenal job to Mick, Jonathan and Silva.

Holy shit, I adored Addict but Royal Flush is absolutely FANTASTIC!! Jonathan's "Tell me how can you rehabilitate the husk of a man?!" sends chills through my soul
I agree. Do you know when I first heard it I thought Jonathan was saying "Tell me how can you rehabilitate the husk government."
Just like the royal flush in poker, I feel like husk is going to be a very valuable and rare character in the series. He seem so unbeatable and powerful.
Not unbeatable but maybe in the future he'll be a powerful demon when he actually get character development.
He doesn't have much backstory so we can't say for sure but that's some optimistic thinking Cora
They said Husk is not very strong physically but in old illustrations VivziePop did draw him with demon powers (yellow electricity). So I don’t think he’s that powerful, but he’s obviously not a pushover either. Although he is meant to be very lazy and he definitely cheats a lot to win at gambling.

Huskers entire essence is that he truly believes that he deserves everything that he got. How do you rehabilitate someone with that mindset?

Husk is EASILY the character I’m most intrigued about. Just someone that wants NOTHING to do with the chaos around, and quite a negative opinion on others. This captures his character pretty well, I’m impressed!

If that isn't a teaser for some of Husk's backstory then I don't know what is. I just *had* to say that. But this song is *ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!* Truly amazing, and loving that Alastor tie-in!
Vivziepop or one of the people she works close with said something about how Husk loved magicians on earth, and in hell magic is the only thing that he can actually enjoy.
Honestly i thought it was a reference to Husk owing Alastor. Since Alastor just spawns him out of nowhere it seems that Husk has asked for Al to do something for him in the past so Husk is obliged to help out with whatever Al wants.
The fact that he is a flying cat also denotes some occult influences that he probably tried to tap into or investigate when he was alive to combat the PTSD and alcoholism.

As much as we want one, it probably won't happen. Addict was animated as a thank you, and back when Hazbin was still an indie project. It was picked up by a studio so it's not indie anymore.

This was epic!
From the melody and beat hittin hard, to the lyrics thats a mix of a gambit and rock. Mick really brought out the character Husk as a gambler and drunk with nothin to lose and Jonathans chorus hits the characters vices with a full swing. Overall its a massive bop.

My jaw hit the ground at that first “Tell me how can you rehabilitate the husk of a man?” Just wow. I’m in awe
I can’t wait to see the animatics for this. What I can see is Husk is probably a drunken father or the son of a drunken father that followed in his footsteps. And he is so aware of why he is in hell and was most likely confronted by Charlie asking him why he doesn’t take rehabilitation seriously.
Like most demons Husk takes the extreme of showing he is a bad man while recalling his memories and in attempt of attacking Charlie he realize he can’t go through with it and realize he has somewhat changed already.

Husk is one of the most sympathetic characters of the main cast except Charlie. Grumpy alcoholic washed up magician war criminal catmen need all the love :)

My headcannon is that when mick is singing it’s him the grizzled sourpuss,and when jon is singing it’s when he’s piss drunk,him feeling young like what he sings in the second part(the only time when I don’t feel past my prime is where the demons in my life don’t leave me alone),then he gets one hell of a hangover in that slow part and is probably reliving his past,then back to being piss drunk😂.Love the song!❤️

I suspect as much as well, but that it's a less conventional power than what's held by the like of Alastor, Valentino or Stolas.
After all, Stolas and Valentino are representative of two of the Seven, and Alastor is... Alastor.
Which leaves the ambiguity of Husker, because gambling, in and of itself, is not a Sin, but is one of the most powerful Vices.

Might be looking into this a bit much, but I wonder if Husker's past or personality has something to do with ocean life, like being a sailor? I mean he mentions shanties which are usually pirate songs, and rum is often associated with pirates and sailors a lot. Plus, living by a port, there are plenty of sailors that love playing cards.
I had a minor heart attack when I first saw this, and when t finally came out I couldn't stop screaming! This is so good, it depicts the character very well and definitely hints at some hidden lore. well done!
With how smooth these two sing, I LITERALLY couldn't tell the difference and that goes to show how talented the BOTH of them are. I'm love Husk and just in general, the song is sick.

When imagining this being animated, i see husk mostly at the bar of the hotel with most of the visuals being drunked hallusinations combined with memories from hell and earth, with Jonathan's voice takeing on the form of a huminoid shadow that reprisents husk's dark thoughts, and in relation to the music the drunker husk is the higher the tempo and the more sober he is the slower the tempo. ( with the final lyric having everyone in the hotel watching husk drunk sing in confusion)

Good work. Even though I'm nothing like Husk (Except we both like magic) I can still feel what he's singing. Although, I have to say Husk does remind me of my dad. He used to drink a lot too and he had tried to quit so many times but kept failing. But then one day almost a year ago I told my family that I was going to quit drinking and to my surprise my family joined in. It was easy for me. Probably because I was never an alcoholic to begin with. Now the only time I'll drink is on special occasions, but my dad has almost never had an alcoholic drink since he quit.
