🎄FAT QUARTER CHRISTMAS QUILT | Beginner Friendly Tutorial | Piano Key Border 🎹

- 🎄☀️ WELCOME! ☀️🎄 I needed to make some room for new fabric. I pulled out this really pretty Christmas Fat Quarter bundle of 21 FQs and came up with a super easy quilt top. I did a little extra and added a piano key border, but you could skip that and just add a pretty complimentary border, or leave it with no border. This quilt top took me 6 hours and 30 minutes WITH the piano key border, and 4 hours 30 minutes WITHOUT the piano key border. See specific times below. FABRIC LINE: CHRISTMAS ADVENTURE - 21 Fat Quarter Bundle - each print approx 18" x 21" - Beverly McCullough ~ Riley Blake Designs. Measurements, I squared 16 of the FQs to 17" x 20". Then I cut vertically to make a 5" strip, a 4" strip, a 3" strips, and two 2.5" strips, all of them 20 inches long. The finished quilt top is approximately 67x89.

Nailed it again. What I loved the most was you managed to use the whole bundle. Was great idea using the piano key board border and a pot holder. Shorts and barefoot is my kind of day. We had 34 degrees yesterday fans going for fruit trees and grape vineyards as they are all in bloom then rain so was an inside day. Bowl cozies from scraps are in progress for me again today. Not too early to start thinking about making quilt for the holidays/holiday gift giving...as it takes me quite a long time to start and finish a quilt... if we start them too late in the season, they won't be ready in time! Also, it is all about using what we have in our stash, regardless of the season! I have a super sweet Christmas bundle, that I have had for years! Maybe it is time to get into it!

A little problem I ran into with stitching! I sewed my finger to the fabric! I still gave a piece of bone in the tip of my finger! Use a stylus, not your finger!

Would so much prefer the sound of the sewing machine rather than that headache producing “music”. Got tired of muting each time so finally gave up. Usually enjoy your videos and lovely quilts.
