That could genuinely serve the same purpose as lowering the age of consent. Think about it like this, there are pedophiles who are 19 or 20 who are attracted to 12 and 13 year olds. Increasing the age of consent would effectively help them out, if this were put into practice there should be 2. 2 is a little ridiculous, you could have 18 and nobody over 18 could date people below (with regards to like if they’re in high school and Romeo and Juliet laws) and you could have 18-20 or whatever but I think that’s gratuitous.

Muslims followed the cultural norms of relationship-appropriate age at the time (7th century), which is when a girl starts menstruating around the age of 15-18 years. Currently, most Islamic scholars set the age of consent between 16-18 years similar to the US, UK, Canada, etc.

So in closing while I think it’s odd to be as rigid as ‘the day you turn 18 is when you are a fully capable rational adult’, until a better, clear, and non abusable rule is found, it should stay 18. Ain’t perfect but it’s the best we got, so don’t muddy the waters.

First of all, there is a verse in the Quran specifying that marrying and sleeping with girls too young to have gotten their menstrual cycle is acceptable in Islam (Iddah period.)
Secondly, it shouldn't matter what they did "back then", because Muhammad was given the word of Allah. Allah wouldn't have said "it's okay to sleep with the 9 year old now, but not in 1000 years". His morals would have been consistent, no matter the times.
Also, Muhammad claimed Allah told him that keeping female s*x slaves and r*ping them is acceptable. Even if the man is married, he is allowed to be unfaithful to his wife with female captives. This is repulsive.
There are many peaceful muslims with wonderful morals, but it's impossible to deny that there is way too many absolutely disgusting things in the Quran that can't be excused in any way. Muslims tend to ignore these parts, and become very uncomfortable when they are brought up. And it's understandable. But stop to think for a moment why these things are so uncomfortable to hear.

So i'm going to quickly describe what prompted this.. it's only an 11 min clip, but i think it only adds a ton of more humour at what an idiot Sneako is.
Basically, XQC and this other guy were basically hashing out a beef they had in a COD lobby b/c the guy and his friends kept calling X a "flaggot" b/c of some clip of him kissing someone on the cheek (can't type it b/c i dont want this to get auto flagged). Apparently this group was being relentless and X was trying to explain how he doesn't care b/c of HIS ego.. he cares for those in his community it could hurt, so he didn't like the context they were using it by directing it in a negative way as if being gay was something disgusting (which Destiny and X try to explain to Sneako when he barges in out of nowhere throwing the word around just looking for a fight).
So Sneako barges in uninvited grilling X on why saying the word is a bad thing.. and he repeats the word honestly in every sentence on purpose to prob rile his chat up or some dumb sh*. So the back and forth somehow reaches moral systems, with Sneako claiming the Muslim Qoran is never changing and perfect, gives him all his morals (very bot answer and just surface level.. just brainrot)..
Then he goes as far as saying Gay people don't exist and it's a choice to sin (which made for an epic meme of a someone with a very creeped out face asking Sneako "so you choose not to be gay everyday?". As soon as Sneako said the "you have a choice to be gay", Destiny slammed back at his Muslim grift where their Prophet Muhammad was known to have had a 6 year old wife, Aisha. So by asking him for what he believes is the age of consent was meant to corner him, which it did beautifully.. he literally stepped on his own rake, knocking himself out b/c the Qoran doesn't hold an age of consent law. not even after they get their period (which would be around 12-14), so now he's in a position where he's going to be either self snitching as a grifter if he says anything that's not in the "perfect Qoran" as he described, OR.. sneako is right when he says the age of consent should be at a mature age. i’m not sure why you keep insisting that he should say a specific number, which differs from country to country globally. it is clear that girls mature at different ages, so to put an arbitrary number on age of consent is by logic, irrational. if a woman is physically and emotionally capable of consenting at a much younger age than the age of consent within the country she resides, there is no moral dilemma. she is only at qualms with the law, which as we know is not perfect. it goes both ways by the way - if for whatever reason a woman is not mature by the time she reaches the age of consent, it is still morally wrong to engage in sexual intercourse with that person. you’re just virtue signaling when you say “it should be 18” - because it’s so easy to say that as it is widely accepted.

The reason why he is struggling to answer the age of consent question is that, as scary as it is, his new muslim following, which he desperately tries to pander to, outright supports lowering the aoc, and think 6 year olds are ready for marriage. And, it's very hard to change the mindset, because it's literally in their religion. It's what their prophet, who they are supposed to live after, did.
From experience, muslims are either unaware of this fact. I have seen multiple muslim teens being shocked and appalled after learning this, convinced it cannot be true. They either remain in denial, but struggle with a lot of guilt due to it, or they leave the religion (though continue the cultural practices). Or, like Sneako's followers, they are in favor of it.
Sneako struggles to answer the question because he knows in his heart that it's disgusting, but he is afraid of pissing off his muslim fans.
