I inherited my mother's recipe box when she passed. Not only do I have some of her favorite recipes, but some from my 2 grandmother's, and my Aunt Annie, and various others that gave mama recipes. It will stay in the family.
I remember carbon paper, cool idea. I like what you did with it. The tree looks good filled in. The recipe book is awesome what you did with it. Grandma's are the best. You did her proud, Jamie.
For Christmas, I am making a gift for my kids: a 5x7 bamboo cutting board and decoupaging a photo of their grandparents and a favorite recipe card of hers. Theirs is the generation of disposables, so I don't know if they will appreciate it, but they will have it.

Mine is filled with loads of drawings, pictures coloring book pages etc. from my niece and nephews from when they were all little. (the oldest nephew will be 41 this month) I plan to leave the cookbook to my son. ps I will be 70 in Jan! hugs to Otis! 😺😺😺

Tracing paper would also have worked for transferring the tree image. I usually get mine from any hobby and craft store. The frames can also be used for a place settings at a wedding, as well.

Jamie, you can get clear contact paper to put on your grandma’s cookbook. That will protect it and you can still see the beautiful age and title. You could also use the contact paper to laminate the pages. What a treasure to have your grandma’s recipes and handwriting! ❤

Thanks for the tip, I did not remove any pages. I took out some loose recipes that were newspaper clippings, etc. And put them back in there for safekeeping.

Some were I have .y moms cook book and my grandmother cookbook was in a sprail not book. News papers.
Check on archive paper it will help you preserve her book page by page please don’t remove any pages that’s a special vintage priceless antique.
