    Basically if u want a nice aggressive and good handling set up to daily street, get an 18x9.5 +40 off set. It is the most common specs for this platform. As for tires, depends if u want some rim poking out or not. Most common tire set up for 18x9.5 wheels is 255/35/18. Keep in mind different tire brands are wider and shorter in terms of side wall. For ex, Michelin pilot sport 4s will look slimmer than hankook evo 2’s even tho they’re both 35 side wall. 255 is the width, 35 is the side wall and 18 means it’s for an 18 inch wheel. Make sure u change to coilovers if ur gonna run this set up. Or it will rub on the stock strut.

    I have a Lancer. I'm from Australia so it's called the VRX (in the US I believe you guys call it the gts). Front wheel drive only. I'm after rpf1's with a functional fitment and some suggestions I get would be to run 18×8/8.5 with a +35/38 offset for a functional fitment. After confirmation or other ideas. The aftermarket car industry isn't huge in Australia, not like in America anyway. Very hard to get decent and decisive information. Hoping to get some more knowledgeable insight.

    Great that you're explaining this to the masses because so many get it wrong. I see it all the time, they choose a nice looking wheel with the right stud pattern but then the offset is wrong requiring them to run narrower tyres that are stretched and a stupid amount of negative camber. Other than just having to roll the guard lip, that's just silly.

      @metallicaspiker16 Před 3 lety +6

      In terms of wheel, it’s all up to your preference. The main thing you’re looking for, at least from what I’ve seen on FT86 forums, is something with a +38 offset for flush fitment. I’d personally go 17” to reduce weight from an 18” wheel, and maybe 8.5” to 9.5” wheel width. For tires, I’m biased towards Toyo (blame Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift for that being plastered on the back of my favorite car - Sean’s EVO IX) so I may go with their Proxes R1R or R888R, but it’s up to you. You got quite a few options, but I’m personally leaning towards Motegi Racing’s MR116 in black/red. Common choices for this platform are Enkei’s RPF1 (the satin bronze wheel featured in the video), Work’s CR Emotion Kiwami, Volk Racing’s TE37, some flavors by Option Lab, and maybe some options from BBS if you’re looking for fender flares or wide body. Good luck in your search! 😊
