- This video goes through the process of my parents and I making a huge paper mache jungle tree! This tree is completely solid and is made to be a staircase into a loft. This was my first 3D project and it turned out better than I imagined. I hope this documentary and tutorial helps expand your imagination on what can be done with this awesome medium!
To watch my little sisters build a paper mache doll house visit • Making A Paper Mache D...
What amazed me the most is this supportive family. They ask can't together to make this little girl a magical imaginary land. Amazing. I could never get such united support from my family.
This is amazing and I am sure it will be one of Belinda’s favorite childhood memories. Awesome job and family teamwork!
This is so COOL! I’m trying to figure out how to make big trees for my crystal shop. This helps a lot!
To see a lady making a treehouse dollhouse, check out Where The Gnomes Live channel. She's making a forest in her craft room but it's taking a bit longer for what she's doing. Thus video gives me ideas though, like that if I want a treehouse, I could bring the tree inside rather than the house outside
Looks amazing, some mini string lights would look so cool at night!
What a great way to bring the outdoors inside. I love that it's a stairway to a loft. In my mind, I want you to put a little door on the opening that looks like one of the doors on the trees in nightmare before Christmas, like the tree or pumpkin, or turkey. Maybe you could switch it out for different seasons.
Thank you for going into detail about how you made it. My son wants a treehouse in his bedroom and I have been racking my brain trying to figure out how to accomplish it. This has helped. thank you.
I wish you luck! I'm glad it helped.
I'd love to build one in my boys bedroom. Itll never look as good as this one. Fantastic job!!
Holy hell!! An amazing craft with an even better result. Super cool man
That's dedication. Very impactful. Congratulations.

I love this
You guys should work for Disney!
This is super cool!
Ya kno tho Emma will grow up fast and then you’ll need some other kids to continue to enjoy this tree loft legacy 🙏🏻🤣❤️ however the view from below is very enjoyable for the adults.
The tree isn’t in our house. We made it in a place that we rent out to people during the summer for family reunions. There will always be guest’s to enjoy it, especially children. We also did some cool things in the other rooms. Every room has a different theme. Watch czcams.com/video/a1cuSKkgqK0/video.html if you are interested.😀
@@EmilysArtStudio ahhh makes sense! Yes very cool. Ever since the Star Wars Ewok Adventure movie I’ve always wanted to live in a tree. ✊🏻🤣. I am a carpenter by trade so at some point I may just live in a tree. Lol.
AWESOME JOB👌👌👌🇬🇷
Amazing I am tried just watching looks great.
Outstanding fantastic wonderful ❤
That is so impressive, and will make many memeries for you and kid, well done.
Wow!!!😍👍🏼
AMAZING!!!!! 😱
Amazing!
Totally awesome thanks
This is the best video ever!!!
Great job ❤ please post a video of the current condition. Is there anything you would have done differently
I'm glad you liked it. The tree is still in great condition! Every year or so I touch up paint where the plaster gets nicked and chipped occasionally. Theses are all really small chips though and after they are painted blend right into the texture of the tree. Save paint colors for this! I would also recommend putting down some plaster mesh where the tree meets and blends into the wall if you dont want the plaster to crack along this area. This happened to us! But it still looks okay. I think this is largely due to the wall also having a lot of texture, so all I had to do was paint the wall color along the crack to make the separation look more natural.
How does it look sooooooo good!!
Aww bless 🥰 cute
So cool
❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing. I am making one of my own in my living room and currently am at the joint compound smearing part. I do have a question tho, did you add any type of sealant/primer on it? And how well is it holding over time? Thanks !
I didn't add any primer or sealant, but I don't think it would hurt to. The tree is also is holding up quite well. It gets a lot of use so every year or so I have to touch up a few places where the plaster gets nicked, but its not a huge deal. Just save a little bit of paint for that. I would also suggest putting down some mesh where the tree meets the wall. The plaster cracked along that area. Hope this helps! Good luck on your project!
@@EmilysArtStudio Thank you for the answer 🙂 I went with black gesso in the end, mostly because it was what I had available at home. Again thank you for that inspiring video, will follow your channel for now on 🙂
Fabulous!! I'm gonna try to make something similar for the school library. I wonder what type of towel you used (what's called) and if that can be found on Amazon. That would be a great help as I always use newspapers for papier maché, but I don't have enough for such a big tree. Thanks in advance.
They are scott shop towels:)
Thank you for this video! It is really inspiring! I am trying to recreate this (on a smaller scale) in my children's bedroom without the loft, just a den underneath and a little platform tom climb up into. I was just wondering about the initial wooden frame, do you have any more pictures/explanations of how this is created? Thank you! 🙂
I'm glad you liked the video:) Sorry! I didn't document the structure-building process. I probably should have... That was my dad's project. I might be able to get some instructions, but he might not remember everything exactly, and it might be hard to follow without pictures.
@@EmilysArtStudio Hi, thanks for coming back to me! No problem! Anything you have would be a massive help! :-) We are quite new to this and aren't really sure where to start! :-p
What do you do about dust ? How do you keep this clean and how much did the entire project cost?
The tree doesn't gather very much dust. I think this is due to the leaves and branches being so far up in the air that it's not it in an area that dust can reach when it gets turned up from sweeping an other things. We haven't had to clean the tree yet, and it still looks about the same. The supplies for the tree cost around 3,000 dollars.
This is great. Where is this tree at?
It's on a property in Paradise, UT. My parents Vrbo it during the summer. We did some cool themed stuff in other rooms as well. Check out these links if you are interested:)

What are the leaves called on Ali Express? Or, can you post a link? I’m trying to find the same ones, but as I’m sure you know the website is hard to navigate with lots of options.
I don't remember what they were called. Sorry! I wish I recorded things better. Good luck on your project:)
Tried your link for written instructions but the links for the list of supplies is broken 💔 any chance of posting here?
This is the best video up btw and thank you so much for documentating and posting 🌟
I'm not sure what link you are talking about. I don't see where I wrote out a list of supplies, but I can give you a basic list here. Basic supplies would be plywood, two by fours, nail gun, staple gun, saw, ladder, chicken wire, branches, masking tape, shop towels, Elmer's glue all, joint compound, water, 5 gallon containers, 1 gallon containers, disposable gloves, rolls of paper, wire, acrylic paint, paint brush, caulk, screw driver, clippers, fake leaves and vines, and rope. I hope this helps:)
i want to be a child again 😍
Amazing 🤩 ! How much, approximatively, does it cost you to buy only the paper mache stuff (not the paint, leaves and others) ?
The glue, towels and joint compound cost us around $500. I can’t remember exactly though.
@@EmilysArtStudio okay, thank you for your fast reply 😊 !
What are blue shop towels? Where do I get them from?
You can get them a lot of places. Just type in "Scott blue shop towels" in Google search and it should show you different places you can get them in stores or online.
That is truly magical ✨️ 💖
Hey Emily, this is amazing! Unfortunately, the link to the written instructions does not seem to work. Can you help?
Sorry about that! I forgot I had a link here. My mom recently canceled her website, so that information is gone. The written instructions wasn't too detailed though. It was just a retelling of what you see and hear in the video. You can just watch the video and write down the things you think you won't remember. I'm sorry for the inconvenience!
@@EmilysArtStudio Thank you Emily. At 11.13 in the video, you mention what you used to do the last layer of the tree. I am not a native English speaker and I did not understand what material you used (something compound?), so I wanted to look it up. That is what I was hoping to find in the written instructions. :-)
Actually, never mind, sorry, I found it in one of the older comments. Joint compound... Will go and translate that now. :-) Thank you for the video. We are planning to do a much smaller version of the tree for our daughter. We already found some other instructions on the web, but your video really gave us some great hints on materials and techniques we could use!
Awesome! I wish you luck!
How much did this cost to make?
LThe e this so much!
Wonderful except for that damn music‼️
