Will do.
The stick thingy is the yard, the sail raiser is the halyard, the sail flapping around like that is called luffing, the pallet piece is called the pulpit and when your main is up and your not going anywhere we call that ghosting. YO HO HO and a can of Red Bull, you need to rig a spinnaker.
Bahahahahaha YO HO HO and a can of Red Bull! Love it! Thanks for dropping the knowledge bombs!
A couple of things: Increase your sail area by (75%?) by lengthening your spar and getting a larger tarp. If you can, reconfigure your tarp / sail by shaping it like a cupped hand to catch the air. Right now you are "spilling" tons of force with the flat sail. (Yes, there is some work to that.) With a larger sail area comes the need for adequate fore-stays. A sudden shift in the wind, or getting turned around can bring you mast and rigging down in a big hurry. All that being said, you guys are awesome and I wish you the best. There is nothing like a sweet, down wind run in a squaresailer. You can get three knots out of this.
Had a son and daughter crew on the Lady Washington. 0:54 shows how sails should look.
czcams.com/video/RJtFoj3Qqq0/video.html
Awesome tips Sir Rozgard! If we can hit 3 knots without using our motor we'd be in heaven! Thanks for watching and the kind words!
Another interesting addition to what's sneakily becoming the most technically advanced houseboat on the water. You guys sure love cutting things more than you love painting them though:)
Thanks! Yeah, paint is just for looks. We'd rather build than paint! Thanks again for watching!
Thanks for the adventure!!
Thanks buddy!
Nice work. ..if you attach the "sheets" to a "block"...make a way to tighten and loosen depending on wind...might work...or, go full send and build a light boom and get an old main sail...or build one so you can actually get pushed even from a beam or broad reach "point of sail"...
Thanks for the tips! I think we're going to try making a sloop or a gaff rig next. Need to do more research though...stay tuned! (Wind would also help!)
Adventure bound! Take it to the edge of the earth!
That's the plan if it can hold up! Thanks for watching!
From one long haired tool user to another u wanna tie it up when usein that grinder thanks for the vid
Some solid advice right there... Thanks for watching!
Put a spar across the bottom of the sail. And you could use some drop cloths for a sail. the cloth ones the pros use.
Oooooo 2 good ideas... Thanks and thanks for watching!
@@MoneyPitBoating Hmm you might know someone who uses drop cloths...just saying
Hahahahaha Indeed we might!
If someone falls into the water Infront of the catamaran, you must cut power instantly. Or they will go right through the propeller.
Yeah, that would be bad. Hope it never happens. Thanks for watching!
A quick thought...
Imagine adding some pedals to this boat like on those sun riders' boats, possibly pedals assist like on an e-bike. If there was more than one pedal for multiple people it might make it easier.
Not saying this is a "good" idea, but for a money pit boat that is being made for fun, why not lol?
All ideas are good ideas! We haven't thought about pedals on THIS boat, but maybe soon... Stay tuned and thanks for watching!
That guy bone dust is awesome!
Bone dust always brings the party!
Needs a pirate flag. Looks like the perfect rig to troll for carp.
Hahahahaha spot on! Thanks for watching!
you 2 are a good team - fun to watch the boat take shape then go out for testing.
I subbed.
Thanks and welcome aboard! Stay tuned for more!
I just watched advertisement on your channel...hell yes I was glad to see you monetized .....
Your real #1 fan......
Bahahaha thanks Steve! It was a long hard road, but we made it! Now we just need to amplify it because we make about $1 a day. It's a start though!
@@MoneyPitBoating New sub, its getting pushed ! Congrats on making it the first , now the rest will follow! Happy sailing!
Welcome to MPB Conner! We have to keep pushing to make it the fastest now! Thanks for watching!
The fact that it essentially worked is great but what’s the advantage over your solar/electric motor?
We're doing it to have a redundant form of propulsion, and it expands the range of our battery bank!
Your mast is a lightning rod!
Pretty much! Thanks for watching!
I use a beach umbrella on my fishing boat for shade and when the wind is blowing it acts as a sail
The swiss army knife for boats! Thanks for watching!
This video is priceless way to go guys
Thanks Lee! We think we have an idea to make it sail better, so stay tuned! (As you always do, and we appreciate!)
@@MoneyPitBoating by far my favorite channel
Your words are beyond encouraging!
Over a thousand sub's!
Heck, yeah.
Yeah we're chugging along thanks to awesome people like you!
Will you be doing step by step directions how to recreate this mast and sail?
If it ends up working in the long run and is safe, possibly. Did we confuse you on something? (Thanks for watching)
Much gooder with bigger sail.
Yeah we need MORE! Thanks for watching!
You guys need to upgrade to a canvas tarp
Agreed... Our tarp situation needs a big upgrade. Thanks for watching and stay tuned!
also you guys have to get a sponsorship from DeWalt, lol, that's a hell of an endorsement. have you given any thought as to how to waterproof the daggerboards and rudder? fiberglass could be calling your name...
Fiberglass is probably our best bet, but we still need to refine our designs before we spend more money on fiberglass. Funds are quite limited at the moment, and we are very careful with the money we have. That's how we've lasted almost 2 years without jobs, trying to make it on youtube!
careful putting treated lumber on aluminum...it'll eat through it!
Indeed it does! We totally forgot to put tape down, but so far so good. We're monitoring it closely though. Thanks for watching and the helpful comment!
@@MoneyPitBoating I may or may not have already run afoul of this problem 😅
Hahahahaha our seems good so far, but time will tell!
Looking good guys!, gonna have to meet you guys out there with mine, I had mine weighed before my trip, it weighs 2000lbs. I bet you guys are closer to 4000lbs.
Thanks! We always say 6000lbs, but either way, it's HEAVY!
@@MoneyPitBoating I tried to build mine as light as possible, and it still weighs a ton. you could call yours "3 tons of fun!" Lol
Yeah, it gets EXPENSIVE when you want to reduce the weight. Aluminum would be our next choice over wood, but it's way too rich for our blood!
Mark ... I still think you need to cover those exposed rounded knee bone crunchers ... Thinking a soft softball size rubber ball, cut into the ball and side it on with a little glue to help keep the ball on . And that pole , from the roof line upwards, needs to be more ridged ... The pallet worked great for the back porch extender. And with that being said , my boys let's make sure we have our life insurance paided up ! ... ~ Just Saying ~ ... One last thang boy's , Mark we need to install front and back the logo's for the channel on the mighty sail ... Great Video ! ... PS >> Reports have been made that you boy's may know something about a case of * Romulan ale missing from Federation Boat Dock *. This is a highly intoxicating alcoholic beverage of Romulan People and is banned by the Federation. ⚓⛵🌊⛵⚓
What Romulan Ale?!?! ;-) Logos on the sail would be awesome, but probably too rich for our blood. Maybe we can spray paint or duct tape it though?! Mast improvements incoming hopefully! Stay tuned and thanks for watching!
@@MoneyPitBoating Romulan Ale would make Earths Liquor look like soda pop.
That'd be a sight to see!
Where are the lady in bikini to be a legit sailing channel that rule number one come on guys[lol]😁
Hahahahah Nailed it! Thanks for watching anyways!
Thats what I been wondering this whole time!

We appreciate the kind words and thanks for watching!
Your no Vikings that’s for sure
Thank god! They lost to the Giants in the wild card last year... Yuck! (Thanks for watching!)
1st?
Hahahahah 2nd! Close though! Thanks for watching!
That’s cool, a bunch of fun
Yeah, we have a blast on this thing! Thanks for watching!
