One thing that stuck with me is how derided the M113 is in western armies, yet Ukrainians have found it to be exceptional. While there are many weapon systems Western armies are running low on, they have thousands of these things they could give. And that's not even talking about the thousands of M1 Abrams and M2 Bradleys, many of which are considered obsolete just sitting in storage :/

Now for Biden, defeat in Ukraine will be an even more epic failure. Russia's initial objective was to get Ukraine to the negotiating table, claim Crimea, and negotiate independent/autonomous Donbass. They succeeded in this. Those negotiations took place by the end of March 2022, after about 5 weeks of fighting.
The US Govt is broke. No surplus in decades. $34 trillion in debt. $214 trillion in unfunded liabilities (without surplus that's debt). The USA is bankrupt nation surviving with money printing. For that reason the world stops trading in USD. Biden fears that Russia will get Ukraine to surrender before November destroying his re-election chances. The US proxy war with over a million dead was totally preventable and Biden rejected peace in 2022. His legacy will be a wrecked Ukraine, the Gaza genocide and a bankrupt US.

Listening from Montana. From my perspective, there was ZERO chance of lethal foreign aid (for any country or interest) passing prior to Iran's attempted strike on Israel. Democracy is what it is so it's silly for journalists / commentators to rail against those politicians who act in ways they don't agree with. Politics in the U.S. was divisive and counter productive long before Russia invaded Ukraine - expecting politicians to act in unison in order to "do the right thing" in support of foreign interests has no precedent in any democracy that I am aware of.

The U.S. and the EU are concerned that Russian forces may punch through Ukrainian defensive lines in the coming weeks, people familiar with the matter have told Bloomberg. Russian troops are continuing to advance thanks to an advantage in ammunition, the agency acknowledged in an article on Thursday. At the same time, Ukrainian forces “struggle because of delays in U.S. and European military aid and personnel shortages,” it added.
Ukraine also faces daily Russian missile, drone and bomb attacks that are knocking out key energy infrastructure and striking military positions, due to its lack of air defenses, according to Bloomberg.
Because of this, “concerns are mounting that Russia may make major gains in the coming weeks by punching through overstretched Ukrainian lines,” sources in the U.S. and Europe told the agency.
Russian precision strikes give no rest to the Ukrainian military in rear regions. The exhausted Ukrainian air defense can no longer effectively repel the constant combined strikes. Despite Kiev’s attempts to blame the Russians for attacks on civilian facilities, the truth is more and more difficult to hide.
On the night of April 18, new wave of Russian strikes hit Ukrainian military and energy facilities in the Kharkiv and Kiev regions.
Explosions were reported in the town of Vishgorod not far from the Ukrainian capital. The target of the attack is yet to be revealed; but the town hosts a large pumped hydroelectric energy storage facility.
While Kiev is threatening Russia with the continuation of ground operations in the border regions, Russian forces are pounding Ukrainian military facilities in the border Kharkiv and Sumy regions. Last night, Russian strikes on Ukrainian manpower and equipment thwarted plans of Ukrainian assault groups to launch attacks in the Russian Belgorod region.
According to local reports, Russian drones and missiles reached targets in the western Ukrainian regions. A military airfield in the Ivano-Frankivsk region reportedly came under attack. The facility served as a reserve airfield for the Ukrainian Air Force. During the massive Russian strikes, Ukrainian aircraft are moving there from the neighboring regions. It is also used for repair of military aircraft.
More strikes were reported in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk itself, where a point of temporary military deployment and an ammo depot were destroyed.
Another military airfield struck last night was reportedly the notorious Starokonstantinov in the Khmelnitsk region, which is targeted on a regular basis to prevent the deployment of NATO F-16 fighters there.
Russian attacks in the Ukrainian rear continue around the clock. On April 17, Russian missiles inflicted heavy losses on the Ukrainian military, accommodated in a hotel in Chernihiv. Another strike destroyed a lot of Ukrainian servicemen hiding in a school in Konstantinovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

The Tories have tried to ban flags, ban public speeches, ban protests, Starmer would be no better. Macron, guardian of democracy that he is couldn't get his pension "reforms" through the legislature, so he used an executive diktat to put it on the books. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday that the peace formula presented earlier by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is unacceptable for Moscow and stressed that it should be disregarded.
In an interview with Sputnik, Komsomolskaya Pravda and Govorit Moskva, Lavrov emphasized that Russia does not trust Ukraine's regime regarding peace negotiations, stressing that it is necessary to begin discussing the principles of an agreement on which Moscow is willing to negotiate.
However, the minister ensured that negotiations are always the preferred path. "As [Russian] President [Vladimir Putin] constantly reminds us, we always prefer negotiations to fights and wars," he concluded.
