Hey man. Nice to see you in Malmö. Minor correction. The old stadium was called Malmö Stadion. Our new Stadium that opened in 2009 was named Swedbank Stadion when it opened due to a deal with Swedbank, but that name deal expired/ended in 2017. Due to Malmös financial situation thanks to Champions League we had enough money to fully own our stadium which only one other team do i believe. So for 2 years it was named Stadion which is what we locals call it no matter what the actual name is. Then they sold the name rights to Eleda group prior to the 2020 season which is a 5 year deal with possibility for extension.

MFF has won the Swedish Championship (Allsvenskan) 22 times and IFK Gothenburg 18, which make them the greatest and second greatest team in history of Swedish football.

Happy to see you here in Sweden and the fact that you seem to enjoy it so much makes me happy as well! My top games in term of atmosphere in the stadium is the derby’s between AIK and Djurgården. It doesn’t matter with team that’s the home side because the atmosphere will still be amazing. But the acoustics in Djurgården arena is better so the atmosphere automatically becomes better. The tickets to the next Djurgården vs AIK game will be dropped in the upcoming days, and will be played on the 28 of May. Me myself is a AIK supporter from heart and I will always stand behind the team even in these dark times. Hopefully you can attend at at least one of these Stockholm derby’s! I have been a Malmö for aslong as i can remember and that loss to aik in 96 is still an open wound to me cos it was the only game a had the chance to go to that season, but then again more fun memories than bad ones when it comes to aik visiting.

Like most people have said, if you want the most impactful experience, then you should attend a derby. Djurgården, AIK and Hammarby are all Stockholm teams that have massive amounts of followers and share a threeway love/hate relationship between them. And it doesn't necessarily have to be a Stockholm event either; IFK Göteborg vs BK Häcken is a good Gothenburg derby, Malmö FF vs Helsingborgs IF was also a really good emotional regional derby when HIF was still in Allsvenskan. But regardless of where and which teams, derbys have a significant advantage when it comes to the powerful on-site experience, because it allows for the most amount of supporters from the same city/region to show up to support their teams, which always makes for a spectacular display. As you could see here, only half of the away team supporters area was filled because many could not make the arduous cross-country journey, usually because of a lack of time or money or both. Anywho, just a piece of friendly advice. ^^
IFK Göteborg vs BK Häcken is the ideal derby. Because you can't hear the asses over the roar of the lions. Ngl, BK Häcken has very little supporters that attend their games unlike IFK.

Bro go to Hammarby-djurgården derby next week and you will be speechless, Its 3x a malmö-aik game. The thing is that its to far from most other big teams to really gather a big away following and fill the stadium but when we talk derby's in Sthlm we talk 30k+ ppl and full Stadiums. To give you an idea - its pretty much closer to go from Malmö to Germany than from Sthlm to Malmö, Its like a 6hr drive so most ppl cant be asked to go to Malmö for a Weekday/Sunday game.

At the end of the day the biggest games are Sthlm derby's because they are pretty much the only games where arenas wich can take 30+k ppl are really full and nothing Beats a derby when it comes to atmosphere so its never really many away supporters there.

Going to a big Football game is about the entire experience seeing Ultras from both sides everywhere in a packed arena with big ass tifo's from both sides and seeing passionate supporters everywhere you look. Even if you are a Malmö supporter you should really go on a Sthlm derby bro and see the difference irl. I promise you that after experiencing that you wont be as impressed about the supporter experience in Malmö anymore.
