- Happy Thursday loves!!!!! I am back atcha with a looooong awaited review. A few months back I started dipping my toes into more prestige and luxury haircare, so you know this brand had to be on my list. Today I am giving you guys an in depth review of Curlsmith products for natural textured hair. Curlsmith was formulated with curls in mind by a group of researchers, trichologists, and chemists to create products that provide a foundation for healthy hair and scalp. I've been testing these products out for the last four months and today I wanted to give you my full, unadulterated opinion. I hope you guys enjoy this in-depth review and I'll see you tomorrow for some more fun!

I really liked the long term reviews because 1st impressions can be deceiving. I ordered a lot of their products during the Black Friday sale, my only purchase actually, so I am very excited to try them. I used their curl quizz to select the ones I bought. Great video. 😊💙

@@nishad6862 for washing, the 3 products of the scalp line are excellent. I still have the DC, blue one, that I have not tried yet. For styling I got the balm and In shower fixer. Do not use a lot of the balm because When yOu add the fixer both combine to make a mousse. So you are working that mousse. I really like the results, hair is big defined and soft, but it’s not an easy combination to work with. And it’s only when fully dry that you really know if your ratio was good. I see now that they are proposing other combos which probably are easier to work with. The scalp detox line is what i I would repurchase. Hope this helps.

This line will definitely be added to my winter rotation. Love their vitamins too! My curls pop in a different way, it is hard to explain. They are defined and clump in a different way. It is a hair health line that is refreshing.

I love their scalp line and both the stylers you used. I also take their vitamins. Your hair looked SO shiny and bouncy...you got incredible results. 👌🏽
Ok Curlsmith, maybe one day lol! The stylers intrigued me the most for some reason although you raved about the cleanser and DC. And damn, that in shower styler had your hair just as defined and tamed as any other. I do get the moisture didn’t last but yes love. Thanks Bri.

Girl you let the cat out of the bag 🤣 I feel like CurlSmith is the best kept secret. I love the entire Scalp Line. The Post Biotic Calming Conditioner is heaven in a bottle! The Weightless leave in surprised me the most; It really is an adjustment moving away from heavy products that give a false sense of moisture. My fine strands won’t be going back. I just tried the weightless air dry cream and the hydro flexi jelly & I loved it. After this review I needsss the soothing mask. I have the double quench mask that one is bomb too!
The double quench is next on my list! I’ve heard amazing things about that too.

Thanks for doing such in-depth coverage and testing of this line. Until they came out with the color gels, I’ve been passing them up. I purchased the ruby gel and love it! If you work retail, it will not look out of place and unnatural (unless you go with the blue). I may try a couple of their other products based on your demos.

Hey Bri this review is perfect timing. I just had a BF shopping spree (35% & 50%!) with Curlsmith on Ulta.com and also their website. Glad to hear the Fixer would be nice for kinky coily hair. I bought the following: Wash & Scrub Detox Pro-Biotic, Post-Biotic Calming Conditioner, Hydro Crème Soothing Mask, Co-wash, Double Cream Deep Quencher, Curl Conditioning Oil in Cream, Moisture Memory Reactivator, and Intense Treatment Serum. I look forward to using these products. If some of them are more appropriate for a different texture I will pass on to my nieces.🥰

Edit: I definitely agree with your assessment of the cowash. It's good, but not the best I've ever tried. I like using it in the summer when I may wash my hair several times per week.

Im really feeling the scalp line too..i just started taking the vitamins a week ago and i need to get the flexi jelly..i really need shine with this bleached hair..loove the air dry cream tho..thx for your review
I could see the shampoo making your hair dry. Sounds like it strips your hair.
I use both lines and really love the scalp line. I stalk up on Black Friday so I have enough for a year. I also use the vitamins and serums!
I wanted to hate this brand like this ain’t for type 4 hair because I hadn’t seen any type 4 girls review the brand when I initially bought some products. At this point 3 months later, I’m deep in curl smith. Including the growth supplements. Who told them to be good! 😭😭😭😭

Moisture line. I like the co-wash too. I agree it’s not my favorite but it gets the job done. I also have this line. I got the curl conditioning oil cream, the deep conditioner which I absolutely love and the curl defining styling soufflé. I have to try the gel next time.

You have sold me on the scalp line. Because my hair get in humidity and blows up...I do NOT need any humectants....I need predicts that don't attract moisture abs I have fine hair.

I agree that the weightless cream and the flexi jelly work better on damp hair than soaking wet. I tried following their directions first and was not pleased.

I reached out to the company and they said they are not Black owned. I gave away 11 CurlSmith products because of sodium hydroxide in some of the products.
Great review. I would also suggest their Ultimate Lengths vitamins. Madcurls recommended and they work without causing facial breakouts.
I picked those up along with the two scalp oils.

I have been slowly trying their products as I catch them on sale. Hated that shampoo left my hair hard and brittle and the pre wash did not help, the rinse out conditioner is bomb and so is that blue mask. I like the co wash but I don’t like the smell. That double quench conditioner is the truth and I have not tried the gel yet even though I have it.
I’ve heard similar comments about the shampoo so I was low key praying while trying it 🤣 I prefer the smell of the orange line once it’s dried in your hair, but the scalp recipes is so spa-like I can’t get over it. Tfw 💜
Which shampoo did you use? I just used the probiotic scrub and the soothing thingie right after, and my hair didn’t feel brittle or dry at all. Also, did you take the quiz to help determine which products would be best for your particular hair based on porosity, coarseness, etc.?

Thanks for the thorough review Bri! I plan to try the cowash, conditioners, and the stylers you recommend for short hair (I'm rocking a twa). It won't be anytime soon, because I need to use up my stash first. How does the cowash smell, seems like a lot of people don't care for the scent.

I picked up the Curlsmith Hydro Creme' Soothing Mask for Black Friday at 40% off at Ulta and I believe its worth it's full full price but I never want to pay full price for it. Because of your review I am curious about the airdry cream and flexi gel. You sued them in a wash n' go, how do they fair in a twist out?

That air dry cream did not work for me
Have to try that mask, I avoid oil for my wash and go’s tbh so Id love this
i recently tried curlsmith and i wasn’t impressed with the in showe style fixer. I paired it with the conditioning oil in cream and the leave in was awesome but the gel wasn’t a level 10 at least for me. I have very thick hair and to me it’s like a level 6 hold or 7 and i tried it on soaking wet hair as i do all my wash and goes. Maybe i’ll try it as a 1 and done like you did
Weightless style cream is so bada$$ :) - I didn’t get the gel - as I live in a humid area -

That sucks! Do you know of any allergies? It’s hard to think of anything else that could result in hair loss aside from that.
Look at the ingredients. I got a sample of the co wash but stop using it. It has sodium hydroxide at the bottom of the list. I got scared 😨

@@TheThirdEyeAngel Not that I know of, the cowash has a sodim that could be irritating to the scalp but im not sure about this line
Yeah it’s hard to say. If the ingredients were affecting customers across the board then it would give me pause, but there really isn’t anything in there that isn’t standard in other products. Even the sodium hydroxide which many brands use to adjust ph. But if it’s itching then you’re likely having an allergic reaction. Given the line shares similar ingredients in the first five I would discontinue use altogether.

I haven’t. I’ll be revisiting Curl Junkie at some point so we’ll see.
I tried the cream and gels and didn’t like it. Not enough hold or moisture for me and the gel flaked.
They're a good brand but their prices are a little high. As much as I love the gel and cowash, 100$ a month on wash n go's is ridiculous, I wash every 1-2 days.
Are you using too much? Honestly, these products spread very well and you don't need a lot.
@@darceyderosa2426 I add little by little until I get the results I want. 4$ and ounce just doesn’t cut it for me unless it’s the best of the best. For me there’s simply better bigger and cheaper products for most of their line, for me at least.
Tbh I feel their brand is worth it. Yes the products are expensive but they deliver. From personal experience I get about 1 good week of wear. Try that and refresh after 2-3 days. Or just use a cheaper brand to wash mid week and save these products for the main wash day. That should help you get more uses. And also maybe pair the gel with their style balm that would help prime the curl before you apply gel and you don’t have to use as much. Hope that helps!!
Haven't watched as yet but I tried some of their products (3 gels) and did not like them at all....no slip.....no hold.....no nothing LOL..... I returned them all.

I love their scalp line, both deep conditioners, and cowash. I tried all their stylers during Ulta's Black Friday sale and didn't like them either. My hair felt very dry.
