Hey, thanks so much for going over these two roasts with me. But first, I'll say, I do use a drum roaster, its just small and only holds 300g to 400g a KaKa g400 I use butane, with a variable speed air venting system ( one you'd find in a grow tent.), that is placed directly above, that I use at the first sounds of FC. But I'll try raising the fuel, when I turn the air to high (at fc ) to see if I can combat the crash and flick! I did just cup the first roast, and it's actually quite decent, so I'm not too worried about that one. But with the Swiss water decaf, I'm still perplexed. I did a second roast and it got the same % moisture loss, so I've reached out to the Green bean supplier to see if they can shed a little more light on the low moisture loss at such a high temp. I'll let you know if I find something out. Thanks again Meg, for going over these here, and for your help on IG. It is very much appreciated! ) Lyle.
lol I’m probably mixing you up with someone else sorry! I totally thought you said you were in a modified popper. You got it tho Lyle. Trust your instincts!
Lol No worries, Meg. ;) So, I just looked back at my notes for the one with the crash and flick. I figured out that I actually ran out of butane right at FC and had to change out the bottle, (which took about 20 seconds without fuel) and that's why it crashed so hard. Then I had to crank up the fuel to get to where I wanted to end at. Lol it was a good thing you went through these on here, because it got me to look back at my notes. Also a good reminder to up the fuel when increasing the air at fc. So thanks again, Meg! @@BLKCITYCOFFEEROASTERS
