I actually like that Robert ended up lashing out at Aaron. I know it sounds crazy but this way, we know he isn't tip-toeing around Aaron. If he starts to tip-toe, a lot of his own feelings would bottle up and we all know it's not healthy to do that for both of them. So both of them lashing out at each other helps.
Paddy's heartwarming advice to Robert was so special knowing their histoty. I think Robert was rightfully upset at Aaron excepting saying "my son" the of for 2:49
