Hi there always great to see another video uploaded 😀 Joan Miró was a famous abstract and Surrealist painter, sculptor and ceramicist from Barcelona (male). His works in the 1920s were his most famous 😊. His works are still used in decor today, nice find!

Yes thank you, several of you have set the whole record, I only vaguely remember the name from a scarf I bought about a year and a half ago and another viewer, Beatrice, told me what the print was.
So it looks like his estate is still licensing his artwork…. I went and googled so that I could remember better.

Hi There. I just discovered your channel, after hearing your name mentioned by one of my favorite thrifters, Misty: Thrifter Junker, Vintage Hunter. I'm so excited to have found you, since you live in Colorado and shop at my beloved ARC thrift stores! I spent 8 years in Denver, but recently moved back East, which is where I grew up. Here in Maryland, I'm stuck with Goodwills that hardly have anything good, and it makes me miss ARC even more. Like you, I would go there on Saturdays for their half price sales, and it was one of my favorite things to do! The main reason I wanted to comment was because you mentioned being of Black Irish decent. Black Irish is a term for Irish folk who have black hair, instead of the more familiar redheads. I'm Scotch Irish and a ginger. Well, at least I used to be, lol; now in my mid sixties, my hair is mostly gray. Anyway, I'm rambling... Just wanted you to know I'm already a fan of your channel, and I'm looking forward to joining your subscriber family and catching up on your past thrifting adventures, as well as coming along on your future ones. :o)

FYI, Black Irish is a phrase the Cherokee adopted when the were being forced off their land, to avoid the Trail of Tears. 😔
The true Black Irish were the people from Sicily (Gypsy) that immigrated to Ireland. When they migrated to the USA, they intermingled with the Native American indians.🌍
My mother is a Cherokee/Black Irish.
African American. 💕 Most of my family and friends refer to each other as “black” but when I talk about a piece of art or a thing that depicts people, I believe using the team African American is more PC. I truly love that you questioned that. 🤗
Hopefully they’ll come a day when it’s more of a non-issue to worry about in public relations
That’s awesome! I hear CZcamsrs often use the term Oriental, rather than Asian. I have Asian friends and they consider “oriental” to be derogatory. I was glad when my friend told me. All we can do is ask, and that shows respect. Yvon truly cares about people. Great lady . 💕
@@NewChapterVintage huh never heard that ? I am asian, lives in asia and we use the word Oriental to describe many things from Art , Interior Architecture, fashion, even Face ,
Asian is not only China, Japan, Korea. Oriental is term to describe an East asia look, China specific . But you can not use Oriental to describe Malaysia, Brunei, Thai, India, Pakistan or Indo Papua
So i dont know where you found your friend but using just Asian IS generalisation .
Edit : my face is more to east asian even tho i live in south east asia , n people call me Oriental ALL the time . Its Americans who always make a fuss about race/color etc .
@@moshesafdie8628 I choose to respect the wishes of my Asian-American friends. As a teacher, I can tell you “Oriental” is an outdated way to describe furniture. The things that happened in our country and the language surrounding events is different from your experience. I wish you the best. Also, people of a group often refer to themselves one way, but find it offensive for others to do so. Americans who are trying to be sensitive aren’t making a fuss. Language matters and people of various cultural groups don’t all share the same experience or live in the same place. You take care. Stay well.

I live in Jonesboro Arkansas, and that tornado came through my area and hit the nearby town of Monette, Arkansas! It leveled a nursing home! The second line that came through also had a tornado that hit Trumann, Arkansas! My nerves are shot from Friday night! Lol Glad all your people checked in! Love your videos!

Joan Miro was a Spanish artist of the 20th Century...He is famous for his surrealism/abstract expressionist art.

The first run of Rae Dunn products were marked "M" Magenta and the finish is more dimpled. The newer pottery is marked "Rae Dunn". The teapot should be valuable.

Rae Dunn collectors do look for the older peices so M stamp is good, also it's a holiday piece so you can get a good price.

No I don’t mind at all, you’re the second person and in the video in the future I’ll be sure and say it out loud to, I’ve only found one other piece that had that artwork on it and someone had to educate me what it was, it’s been about a year and a half, it was a scarf, that’s all I can really remember, I didn’t even know it was a guy, So it looks like his estate is still licensing pieces??

Har har. Last winter was gnarly in Colorado Springs. 2015 was the year with no snow at all. I miss it but my family will never move there. There is only one good (open part-time) thrift where I am now in California. I miss moseying through the aisles in C.S.

Welcome Joan, my mom is German, well born in Germany to a full German mother, my Oma, who was with a soldier for a time while he was in Germany, he was Irish and African American… After his service I’m not sure what all he did but at the time of his passing he retired as police chief of somewhere in California.
My mom came over here from Frankfurt Germany when she was about 14.

Pure blood blacks have very dark skin with blue gumbs and very black eyes.
There are very few pure blood/blue gums left.

Native North American Indians skin looks like somebody with a dark tan with a reddish hew. That's why the English called them "The Red man" ,their eyes are a very dark chocolate brown.
In the 1980's there were only 3,000 pure blood Cherokee left. 😔
