The way Princess Catherine sits is the way many young girls were taught (typically in jr high) in the South until the mid-late 70s. This well-mannered way of sitting, standing, and walking, along with proper etiquette, were part of home economics.
This sort of thing would serve young people well today, if only for the self-confidence it creates in an adolescent.
And besides, you never know what life may bring to your doorstep, or what doorstep you may find yourself standing upon in the future!

She is a decade older and more mature.

On more than once occasion her dress flew up to show her naked private parts. So much for elegant. Not forgetting when she was at university she took to prancing around half naked on stage in order to capture william's attention.
I think that it would be incredibly niave to expect any female who marries into such an exalted position, to remain the same as she might have been previously.
The fact that "H.R.H. Catherine, Princess of Wales" has handled her transition with such elegant aplomb, is powerful testimony to her nature and upbringing.

Because she was still a Middleton for most of her life, and being raised as one made her the lovely person that she is. Married women that are still strong and independent don’t just denounce their maiden name when they get married. Or at least they shouldn’t if they love their family. It’s so bizarre how many people are up in arms about this. Her parents are lovely people who deserve respect as well.
