      Kings of the streets are the heavy wreckers that get called out to drag car carcasses out of the way when multiple vehicle fires have to be extinguished. You would be squished like a bug if you got in the way lol

  • @ScubaSteve07194
    @ScubaSteve07194 Před 11 lety +6

    In most places a Truck and Ladder Company are the same thing. They do searches and ventilation. Engines put water on the fire, and run EMS. Squad or Rescue rigs are special units designed to deal with any incident that can happen. At a fire they are used as manpower rigs, they do anything from pulling hoselines to ventilation to searches.

    The Difference between an engine and ladder company is the engine company puts water on the fire and the engine company does a primary search for victims while the ladder company on the other hand, does all the venting and conduct a search for victims as well. Usually the ladder company in this case runs into the burning building while everyone else is running out but here's a twist. The ladder company usually has no water between them and the fire.

    I was surprised to see two command buggies, until I saw one of them going a different direction. When the boom truck left, I was further surprised to hear an electronic warble siren, which strangely, for awhile, became the norm, about when lime yellow was introduced (but didn't carch on). The biggest surprise was hearing that Federal Q scream from the med wagon. I still believe the mechanical scream is easier to hear, sounds farther, and has the benefit of vibrating soundproof car windows. Sorry for the editorial. Excellent, orderly turnout!

      +Tyler Poulson He is correct actually. FDNY EMS have their own stations that they go to. They just get spread around the city.

    @FmasterJG No in Chicago the normal fire station is an engine, truck,and an ambulance, however in downtown since it is so dense there are very few fire stations, which means that the stations must house many more vehicles than the normal station

    1 minute later.
    1 empty Fire Station.
    Pretty cool feeling watching all the trucks leaving at the same time.

    @pkferrariman The snorkel is not the tower ladder, it is part of the two piece squad (squad1 and 1A). Tower ladder is responding from a different station.

      They probably don't have to. They saturation train. Like burn out workouts but for fire science.

    I love this house! Too bad the spare snorkel isn't kept here anymore, but at least Squad 1 lives here now.
    This house was first due at a 4-11 alarm high rise fire last night at 171 W Oak.

    I dont think I've ever seen a fire station this big. One time I took a trip to Buffalo, NY and saw one that maybe was comparable. We damn sure dont have these in California
