At 5:00 how do you go from sharp brush painting on edges to very smooth transition so quickly? I assume you use sharper brush for edges and switch to smoother brush?
Could you tell me in general what kind of brushes you use for painting and erasing? I pretty much always used standard one for both, but it's always quite sharp and its difficult to get such nice gradient.

It’s all about quick change of the brush size. I have hot key for size like A D. Like in game. The brush is standard soft. The same for all painting
The sharp effect is achieved by changing the size and by erasing from sides with another brush size. So, you’re painting like with large soft and erase it with small soft
