- Finally done with this film. Lol. Here is the ben 10 vs green lantern animation I've been working on for the past 5 months (Technically 6 But 1 month was dedicated to storyboarding and brainstorming). I decided to remake this fight since I didn't like the one I made years ago.
Again i apologize for the soundtrack lol. i am not a musician as you can clearly see but i did my best. lol
The result from this fight was based of multiple polls i found around the internet hopefully in the future i can get to a point where i wont have to rely on others polls and have an active enough community to run my own polls.

Ngl for someone who just did research for this video and isn't a superfan of Ben 10, this was insanely good. It showcased everything Ben was capable of in a very cinematic and exciting way. I honestly thought this was made by a diehard fan of the show.
The animation was very cool and ben used more aliens than just a bunch of classic aliens and than alien x like db did and the music was also cool and its Good that this was just for fun not to be accurat sense a a accurat Fight Would be harder to make and Good and Gojo vs kakashi does sound Good i would probably Go see it when it comes out

I love how Hal attempted to cut Ben's arm like in the Death Battle, but the Omnitrix was having none of that.

This is how ben should be fighting with master control. Rapid transformations every few seconds. Plus Hal was much more creative with his contructs here
Technically that wasn’t truly master control has he wouldn’t need to press on the watch to switch if it was, but yes ben is an incredibly adept fighter who can adapt to any situation and respond quickly with new plans

There was an episode where kid Ben was fucking around with the omnitrix then he unlocked master control later fought vilgax and Kevin11 and kid Ben was pooping on them
yea i love this green lantern he was really creative and powerful, i wish in the animated series he did things like that more often

You really did justice to both characters here. Really showed that in reality having someone who changes their entire abilities and fight style every five seconds is overwhelming as hell to fight
the thing is that they don't Hal got more ability hell only 2 ability was showcase lol
FR. Even if you're usually more powerful overall, adapting to someone like that is just too much. And it doesn't help that the powerhouses Ben did break out were so enormously powerful that Hal just had no recourse.

1 ben doesn't have master control in this vid he has unlimited time as an alien (you can see that because he keeps pressing the watch to transform)
2 for this scenario he isnt really using OV aliens even if you say feedback is a OV alien the show says that he is a alien that ben got around the end of classic
@@Icannotthinkforaname Agreed. Ben at his best possible would have been too much for GL. He's good but can't keep up with someone as adaptable and creative as Ben. If he'd used Master Control or Alien X, this would have been a much quicker fight.

One thing I noticed in this fight was none of Bens attacks were meant to kill until green lantern tried to kill him
Yeah, Ben is a hero at heart, he won't attack to kill and destroy unless it's the last resource, like it happened with El Ter'hor (I hope I wrote it well, and just in case, I mean Ghostfreak) or how he was gonna do the same with Supreme Kevin, but when he knew there was another option, he went with that before killing Kevin

I like the fact that 99% of Ben's attacks were intended to incapacitate, not kill. He only scaled his attacks based on how tough this green lantern holder seemed to be, and gave him several chances to give up, instead of pressing the attack. That's a nice bit of character continuity. Also the animation is very awesome!
Ben is a hero, and a good man at heart, but during the fight he keeps getting more brutal, and that wasn’t even as far as he could go, Goop could have been acid burning Hal’s skin, Swampfire could have thrown seeds down Hal’s throat, he could have used Armadrillo to drill a hole through Hal, or even use Upgrade to use Hal’s ring to kill him, I love how creative this fight was, as that’s the best thing about having Ben fight in this matchups, even if he’s technically weaker, the sheer amount of strategies and techniques he has, coupled with his genius battle IQ, can make him win most of his fights, with creative ways that only make the fight all the more satisfying

@@KripdomIII there are so many interesting possibilities, like Ben using ghostfreak to go inside Hal and turning into Humoungosaur or any solid alien to destroy him from inside, or using Clockwork to age the ring until it has no power left, and killing Hal before he can recharge, or using any of the smart aliens to create any strategy that we can’t even fathom, I wish Ben had more relevance in vs battles precisely because of all the possibilities it may bring

I like that this felt like a constant back and forth between the two, Hal trying different techniques and constructs, Ben trying different aliens, Hal countering, Ben escalating.
The part where Chromastone-Ben is just standing there absorbing bullets and Hal takes a while to figure out “wait, this isn’t working, something’s up”, and as the battle continues, Hal starts using male weapons for brief contact high damage so that Ben can’t absorb the constructs, is amazing.
I also like how in this scene Ben is T-posing to asserts his dominance.
Could use some better sound design here and there tho, other than that I do like this a lot more.

@@evrint True-I did not explain my thinking there propperly. So, basically, chromastone was able to absorb the bullets but not the weapons; there must be a reason for this or it would be a plot hole. To resolve the issue, I take it that because the mele weapons are large they also have a knockback effect, and so chromastone has very little time to absorb their energy. The bullets are small and so they hit him and are stopped, staying in contact with him, and then he has time to absorb them. Perhaps I would have been better saying brief contact high impact.
@@evrintBullets have a lot of kinetic energy because they have a high velocity but low mass, a train has much higher mass but less velocity, making it so that chromostone couldn’t absorb that big of a construct unlike the smaller bullets.
I love how at 5:28 he shows how the omnitrix takes control and senses that Ben is in danger and automatically changes him to the perfect alien for the job, good work man!

1. Follow azmuth orders
2. Follow the user orders
3. Ensure the later 2 survivability over the own watch
All on that order. Death battle is more of a "cooler yet impossible" scenarios as most battles actually don't follow or have any meaning of the why and how the events turn into the outcome.

@@Outcastsage nah just basicly didn't let ben be killed. even if you go for the arm the omnitrix will protect ben cuz they are merged deeply in their dna. i think if his arm gets cut off succesfully the omnitrix woukd still save him by reataching it with like swampfire's abbility.
I love how when Ben turns into Terraspin, Hal starts out thinking it’s as much of a joke as most would think of it at first, but then he gets immediately countered when he tries to use projectiles against him (in this case missiles). Just makes me happy because I personally think Terraspin is pretty cool myself.
What's even better one of the coolest magic using characters in the show Adwaitcha who killed Charmcaster's father is terraspin's species. A member of terraspin's species is the reason hex and charmcaster even went to earth and appeared in the original series in the first place.
I get the feeling Hal has trypophobia and almost gagged at the sight of 'em torso holes🐢
Energy Attacks Don’t Work on Terraspin, Anodites can’t do anything to them which is why terraspin is the perfect counter to green lantern

I have a sense of bias towards sprite animations, but I genuinely love how creative this animation is compared to DEATHBATTLE’s own. The way we can see Hal’s creative imagination throughout the fight and Ben actually using more of his aliens than just going “you know what? Alien X go brrr” and making the fight a lot more boring to me
I also really love some of the humor here, like with Green Lantern suddenly deciding to bitchslap waybig
Facts. They were both in line with their actual personalities. It's almost like the animator actually gives a damn about the source material.
i love it. unfortunately Hal's green lantern run was pretty clear on one thing. Hals will is incredible so his constructs are strong. but he has a pretty weak imagination.

He’s just not able to make as intricate constructs as Kyle or John are, as Kyle is an artist and John was an engineer.

This was absolutely amazing.
1. I love that Chromastone was not only used, but he was used well. I always thought it was dumb that a lot of people act like Feedback is superior to Chromastone when Chromastone has a better power set. I’m not saying Feedback is a slouch, but everyone sleeps on Chromastone.
2. I love the inclusion of Ultimate Echo Echo and his signature move, Sonic Doom. Echo Echo had the best, and best designed, Ultimate in the series. So for his to be the only Ultimate to appear feels extra special.
3. It was great to see Ben get a well-deserved victory even without the cop out of using Alien X.
4. Those models for Ben’s aliens were spot on. Even in motion, nothing ever looked off model or awkward.
5. The fight choreography was great. (Not perfect, I have a few nitpicks myself, but absolutely great.)
6. The blood at the end legit threw me in the best way. Maybe a bit out of character for Ben, but who cares? It was awesome!
I only have one real critique. At times, the models felt a bit rigid. Like when aliens would just kind of stand there in a neutral pose, instead of a battle-ready pose. Just something like bent knees, a little bit of a hunch, and having their arms up or preparing an attack can go a long way. And having them just stand there was a bit confusing at times. Like when Ben turned into Way Big and just stopped attacking even when GL miraculously managed to keep a shield up against multiple punches from Way Big. (Mans should have been flattened.) Kinda hurts the momentum a bit.
However, I understand that animation is difficult and your hard work certainly shows so this critique can easily be written off as a nitpick. Overall, an EXCELLENT animation that does justice to Ben 10. Loved it, and keep up the great work.❤

I like the way you used Green Lantern's powers at 2:58. Usually he'll just stay inside his constructs until they take enough damage to break. The sneak attack was a dope idea.
I loved how you included all of his aliens and not just the classic ten, especially the fact that Ben was using aliens that are indestructible like swamp fire,Goop,Diamond Head and NRG
the scissor part is pretty accurate, the omnitrix does protect ben and can transform him automatically to defend any offense, also the failsafe must be kept in mind.
Yea because it was established in Ben 10 pop up trivia and in season 3 of alien force the failsafes are to protect Ben so cutting Ben's arm off counts as the Omnitrix being removed from Ben meaning if Hal tried it the Omnitrix would instantly combat it

@@WholeCakeHousenah there were many instances of the fail safe being activated such as when someone tries to forcefully tries to remove it then it creates an energy pulse to defend Ben . In Omniverse, the failsafe managed to transform Ben when his life was in danger and the instance in big bang just shows that how Powerful the Omnitrix's failsafe is and even after that the fail safe can become better by using Ben's some of the most intelligent aliens or by Azmuth making some changes

This is better than Deathbattle's, not because Ben won, but because Alien X wasn't even brought into the equation. Ben's strength has never been Alien X. His strength is that the watch is the *ultimate* example of "anything you can do, I can do better." It's way more visually interesting, and in line with Ben's powerset to have him constantly quick changing to out maneuver Hal.
Alien X kinda is Ben's strength because he is literally Ben's trump card in Doomsday situations however Ben just doesn't like using alien X because he doesn't really feel like he deserves to have that sort of power at his disposal, he feels like he could easily misuse it or become too reliant on alien X which could end up making Ben power hungry thus corrupting his character. That and alien X is literally just a plot device so if the creators had Ben use alien X for every problem then there'd be no story to tell especially considering alien X has the power to quite literally just rid the Ben ten verse of all evil. So yeah, alien X is simply just too broken for the story in general.

You’re both right. Ben’s strength is his chaotic, creative, and unpredictable fighting style. Alien X is his trump
card but has very little practical uses aside for dimensional threats. It’s all about the right tools for the job. A surgeon uses a scalpel, not a sword.
@@camrynduplessis2743he cannot use alien X freely, because it requires the agreement of 2 random bitches who are hard to convince, although they gave him free control over alien X during the fight against the Gladiator, they don't give him the full power, his power was limited and can't be as strong as before. Here's an example: He used Alien X one more time during the battle when Kelvin is captured, if he actually has full control over alien X's power, all I need to do is delete the villain out of existence or at least mindshifting Kelvin and save him, instead, he only uses alien X to fight the riffraff. Another example is the reboot series movie, where an evil Ben uses Alien X to fight other Bens, he got overwhelmed by numbers which is pretty weird because Alien X can't lose, so maybe that evil Ben failed to convince the two beings and give him full power, he only got free control over a limited power only
Dont forget to mention the fucking failsafe was actually used unlike in Deathbattle

Death Battle got it right. Every complaint Ben 10 fans had about the episode has been debunked to death at this point.
@@mauricereticau6292 Ben has had so many aliens outside of Alien X (who has been nerfed harshly in the fight, but that's here nor there) that would be capable of beating Green Lantern, such as Toepick, an alien with a face so horrific that it causes even those who feed off of fear to run away in terror, or Feedback, who has absorbed the energy of the entire Big Bang. Not to mention the fact that the way the fight ends, with Green Lantern cutting off the Omnitrix, goes against what has been established in several Ben 10 episodes: Secret of the Omnitrix in the Classic Series, The Last Battle Part 2 in Alien Force, and Inspector 13 in Ultimate Alien, where it is established that cutting off the Omnitrix would at least cause a cataclysmic explosion on a universal scale. Not to mention that several feats in the fight on Green Lantern's side are either non-New 52, or outright never happened such as a Green Lantern being able to turn back time. Green Lanterns could travel forwards in time, but not backwards.

Thanks, yeah i was gonna add more omniverse aliens but i decided to go with feedback ( and gravattack but that file got corrupted so i cut out the screen) Lol. Kinda I still had the ben 10 alien force games on an emulator so i took 360° screen shots of some aliens as a character sheet so I can understand how the aliens looks from every angle. I also had a terrible 3d version of the fight I made years ago that I was able to also reference.

@@Blazegti No, they've missed a couple of times in the last few years lol. It has been shown multiple times ben's watch has an automated function where his arm/ hand will be shielded if someone tries to cut it off. Also, it has a failsafe where it will turn into the appropriate alien to protect him if he is about to die.

You have a really good understanding of Ben’s fighting styles with each alien! Chromastone excelling with absorbing G.L.’s attacks, but then doing poorly as soon as it turned to melee combat; Big Chill, Wildmutt, and Swampfire being used to incapacitate/dodge G.L.; Rath (my favorite) using wrestling moves and throws while Humongousaur focused on punching and defense. Good job!
Unlike deathbattle you actually remember Ben's 2 aliens that are actually major counters for the green lantern ring. But going Ultimate Echo Echo was just over kill and he does not have it anymore. I still love seeing him as he was my favorite of the ultimate aliens. Also the end where green lantern tries to cut the Omnitrix off only for it to auto transform Ben was so satisfying to see. Kind of wish we saw the sotobro effect take place, but what you did was still amazing to see.
He also used the design of UA Ben, so technically Ultimate EE would still be available here
this is probably an amalgamation of various versions of Ben we have seen. Thats a big criticism of Death Battle, they composite all versions of characters together and tend to ignore the context or weaknesses of those versions.
@gorrium5027 no, you don't understand. It's OK when they do it for Ben, because they want him to win. It's only a problem when they do it for Hal (which they didn't even do, BTW, lmfao)

@@sptflcrw8583 I think it's fine to composite, as long both are composite and you fact in context behind versions. Basically composites should be made using the middle of the bell curve and you should ignore the extreme ends.
Thank you. How Feedback and Chromastone interacted with the light constucts was always an intresting idea. And the scissors part was a funny nod to the disrespectful cut.

Maybe it's just because you had more time to cook, but it's honestly crazy how you made an animation utilizing Ben's aliens that could actually interact with Hal's constructs and other crazy abilities granted to him by the power ring, while Death Battle went for familiarity with the OG series aliens over the functions of the UAF and OV aliens. You made a 2D animation that is better than their sprite animation with a much smaller budget. That's impressive! And this isn't me throwing shade at Death Battle. I love their show and I'm honestly addicted to it, but I do feel that their Ben 10 vs GL fight really didn't live up to its potential.
I'm not even a fan of Ben 10 or Green Lantern, but just wanted to compliment you on how awesome the animation is. The amount of thought and effort you put into all that choreography and shots is insane. It's rare to see this kind of passion for independent art on CZcams anymore - it reminds me of the animations on CZcams of the early 2000s.

The only thing separating you from big budget professional animations are the amount of still frames you have, and how the characters kept returning to T poses after each hit.
Otherwise, this was an AMAZING animation. Super high quality stuff.
This was such a creative and well made animation. I could basically hear the dialogue during the pauses. I could hear the green lantern motto coming out of Hal Jordan 4:42.
The fact that this fight had Ben using more than 5 aliens already makes this much better than the Death Battle, the animation also looks really cool congrats man

Not to mention your bias is showing by focusing on how Ben didn't use more aliens while ignoring all the abilities Hal could have used or various constructs he could utilize.
@@justinalicea1590 Having research behind it is no excuse for being lame, look at Static vs Miles, Static whooped the floor with Miles in the analysis but the fight still showed a lot of what both of them could do while still being cool and creative with how their powers worked, while a fight with a character named BEN 10 only had him fight with 4 aliens (and 2 of them barely do anything on the fight). DB is a big youtube channel that is sponsored by Rooster Teeth, they should have done a better work there, they can do it they were just lazy, also I didn't talk about Hal using more constructs because Ben not using more aliens is definitely a more noticeable problem, even if he could also use more stuff too. Like half of the fight being Alien X vs Hal and it was almost entirely composed of Alien X punching Hal, that is the lamest way too make that fight

A fight that includes Alien X because that is the only alien that really matters in any argument involving Ben 10, hence why it isn't Beast Boy vs Ben 10. Unless Beast Boy is proven to have an answer to a reality warping universal being, he isn't getting a shot at Ben 10. This also, obviously, means that Alien X has to take up more screentime in order to showcase why he is Ben's number one answer. So that leaves the rest of the animation to need not only other aliens for Ben, but also what Hal will be doing. So they focused in on Ben's original aliens.
And they were working on the animation until almost the day of release. As is easy to tell, the video above relies on a lot of stills, lack of voice acting and basic drawings. Hence why Hal's mech suit is reduced to one giant green image. Whereas Death Battle's animation does utilize voice acting, meaning that the animation has to animate like the character is talking, very little of it hangs on a single image and utilizes far more effects, with hand drawn moments as well with sprites.
And sorry to burst your bubble, but we already have Alien X vs Galactic Gladiator to show us how Celestialsapiens fight against beings on their level: they punch each other. Not to mention I also mentioned Hal's lack of abilities, such as his ability to stop time.

Dath battle SHOULD really take notes from you!!
1. Almost 6 minutes of animation compared to Death Battle's 3 minutes.
2. This animation does feature its own problems, like freeze frames, same animations, stuttering and solid color constructs, not to mention no voice acting and no special effects.
3. Death Battle at least showed off two unique powers of Green Lantern: opening a wormhole to grab his lantern and using time travel. This video has none, instead focusing on constructs alone. Why?
Because this is Hal based off of the animated versions of the character, not the comic book version.
The major reason why a lot of people are loving this is due to how badly Death Battle has done to the characters while you did them justice, though not having them voice but i can accept that even though one of my favorite Aliens of Ben talks a lot when he fights and saying "Let me tell you something "insert person's/object's/thing's name here"..."
Rath that's fair he is pretty cool my favorites from alien force are Swampfire, Goop and Humongasaur. Because that first moment for each was perfect. Swampfire getting his arm cut off and everyone was shocked, humongaisaur falling from orbit in a massive crater. And Goop basically being able to manipulate his whole body.

But canonically, the color yellow isn't what weakens a green lantern, but the fear that erode their will, which compromises their ability to handle combat situations.
This was actually a really cool animation. Nice visual style, fun choreography/trading of abilities, and some cool shots (Green Lantern train and Waybig's hand ftw). My only complaint was that there were a little bit too many moments where both characters would just stand around and wait for someone to make a move, but other than that, keep up the good work, my guy. ;)
You got the physics of the green lantern ring really spot on something not even DC gets right. This was great though I think Hal should still win this one though. Some close ups would have definitely helped with the awkward pauses though.
This is a real neat fight! The general choreography is stellar, and I love the use of so many of Ben's aliens - and the way you make them bounce off of Hal's constructs is honestly really inspired. Stuff like how Hal casually catches and puts Cannonbolt down, cutting off Swampfire's limbs upon seeing him regrow them, Terraspin sending the missiles back at Hal, and the entire sequence with Chromastone. Though there are a few small things I'd like to critique, if that's okay;
A lot of the posing is very stiff, with characters (mostly Ben and his aliens) tending to stay relatively upright during the fight, when they should be more leaned forward and attentive. While some shots don't have this problem, there are a few key ones that do - the most glaring being the Water Hazard fight at the beginning. Since Hal is flying, he doesn't have the issue for the most part, but whenever he's grounded it can be seen.
On top of that, the camera angles aren't exactly doing much better - I can tell what you're going for at 4:30 with Hal using his ring's power to push back Waybig's blast, however the pose and positioning of the camera make it look less like he's struggling and more like he's falling asleep. Something like keeping his ring arm straight, showing the strain on his face, and overall giving more impact to the beam clash would help tons in the long run.
All that being said, I do really enjoy this a lot - you've got a lotta promise, and I can't wait to see what you'll be doing in the future!
All the aliens, animation were really great! I like both the characters and surely you showed them pretty good. But specially i loved the Fight choreography. Hoping to see more of these videos. Great job brother 👏

Im scared I would have never found this video and I hope with everything that this video blows up and you get the attention you deserve. I loved every second of it, almost makes me want to break it down on my channel kuro the artist style haha. The ending couldn't have been more perfect, a little throw back to deathbattle and the emotion with that diamond head transformation switching into him instantly ending the fight and going for the kill actually gave me goosebumps. One thing no one is mentioning is the fact that he use Diamondhead as the final blow.
Thats great attention to detail cause If you watch the classic Ben 10 Omnitrix Ben practised a lot while using Diamond head, he even said it in the Alien Force series after he unlocks the old aliens and transformed into Diamond Head and defeated Vilgax .
I loved this animation, not just because it better represents the powers and imagination of both characters, but also because with some scenes in the fight, it was hard to tell if you should call it cool or janky, but I liked that about it. Overall pretty good animation!

Which is funny, but it made me think you could’ve had more opportunities to show their personalities through the fight?
Even without dialog Ben as Rath could’ve had a moment of acting more aggressive and Hal would take advantage.
And when Ben transformed into Humungousaur and Hal made a giant robot, I was waiting for Ben to use this form’s ability to grow bigger and have a smug “mine is bigger” look on his face. Hal definitely would’ve been at least a little annoyed.

It was cool seeing tricks like how Ben as Swampfire played dead for a moment before immediately attacking and sinking into the ground with his plant based abilities.

1. For a fan animation, this is a solid B-. A few more shading layers to give it more depth and some soft blur filters for the energy based stuff to give it more glow and this would be B+ or A- for fan animation.
2. Nice touch with the "Omnitrix instantly activates and transforms user to alien needed to survive" thing at the end. It's a decent rebuke towards the Death Battle episode.

In fact, Ben has an Alien that can directly counter Green Lanterns: Toepick.
An Alien so scary that not even a villian that absorbs fear couldn't brave it, and i'm pretty sure if you're not courageous or brave, the green ring just stops working until you are again... So ben can use Toepick, open up the mask, take the ring, crush it or turn into Upgrade to mess with it/Jury Rigg and mess it up even more and boom, Hal lost

This was a really well put together fight! The animation, the choreography, all of it was executed perfectly!
I love the creativity in this! It was interesting to watch how they used their flexible power sets. The train part made me laugh. I wasn't sure which one would win. For a bit, I kinda forgot it was a death battle and not them sparring over, like, the color green.
I like that this animation does not overkill by adding Alien X

This was a really fun animation to watch. Ben's transformations were very fluid and getting to see him bounce between aliens like that was really cool. And i loved the moment where Cannonbolt just kinda looks around and goes "huh" after spinning so much and not going anywhere lmao
Really solid stuff, I think youve got an excellent sense of choreography, although the action can feel sluggish on places. I think the main focal point for your improvement should be in smeers and effects, something as simple as a rushing background can add so much impact to a strike that can otherwise feel quite flat.
Truly awesome to see this type of stuff coming out for fandoms I adore, keep up the grind and keep improving, you could make a serious name for yourself

I have no idea if this would be accurate, but it’s dynamic, creative and features a lot of aliens using their powers effectively instead of just skipping to Alien X. Also plenty of creative usage of Hal’s powers here, so I commend you!
Thanks. It might not be accurate. Lol. Like I said at the end of the video the results where poll based and alot of the polls had ben as the winner (which might have been heavenly influenced by death battles results)
@@Katsu2000 Ben was winning and lost only because Hal cut off the omnimatrix which he shouldn't have been able to, they were pretty even but Hal didn't have any real way to kill Ben before he ran out of power, while the omnitrix doesn't have that issue.

This fight is excellently choreographed! The versatility is insane, and I love it! This is way better than what DEATH BATTLE did.
