The Bel-Air and Biscayne were not offered in the U.S. after 1972. They were Canada only cars from 1973-1981.

How did you find that information? We spent hours doing research on the 1975. I found some information that stated the belair was used for public service vehicles in 71-75. Like taxi's and police vehicles. Im always looking for information and stats on these cars for future vehicles. Thank for your info.

@@KandyonChrome Correct, I mixed that up a little bit- The BISCAYNE was only available til 1972 in the U.S., The Bel-Air was offered in the U.S. til 1975, but as a 4dr sedan only (for municipal service, taxi, police, etc.).
The Bel-Air was used in Canada til 1981, and was available as a sport coupe (like the Impala), 4dr sedan, or 4dr wagon from 1971-1981.

@@Ryan-cx2tg My friends parents had a 75 bel air wagon in very dark brown. I am certain. So I guess only 4 door sedans and wagons were made . All Bel Airs were discontinued for 76.
My next door neighbor had a 73 Bel Air 3 seat wagon in reddish maroon. I was very close with their daughter so when our 76 caprice estate wasn't available. We would use their BelAir and I would drive it. GREAT CAR.. ours just looked a little nicer.

Either retire the name or do right by it. They screwed up a few other classics like that, the Nova and Malibu for sure

Great video. I absolutely love it!!! Three thumbs up!!!
Guess what, I have a DONK!! But I never heard it called that before??
It is in mint condition...only comes out on nice days and is my pride and joy!!! I learned to drive on it when I was 17 and it was only 1 year old. I drove it to college for 4 years every day and never put a scratch on it. I drove it more than anyone in our family. I keep it in my garage in St. Augustine.
It is a 1976 Caprice Estate Wagon. Loaded and has the third row forward facing seat, and the clamshell tailgate that is fully electric.
It is maroon with wood paneling and has red interior. It only has the 400, not the 454. All original except they was a little rust by the spare tire compartment that had been fixed, and a small dent in the door that was repaired years ago. It has the rectangular headlights, and is all original including the hubcaps.

@@KandyonChrome Hi Bud! Thank you for your nice response. I have always loved this car and always took really good care of it. It has always been waxed heavily with the old-fashioned Simoniz wax with carnauba and garage kept. When waxing the car, I always did every square inch from the rubber bumpers strips to the windshield wipers, to every notch in the front grill.. to the roof rack and even inside the gas tank door.
I have some friends online, and in person that have different clamshell "Donk" Wagons, Sedans and Coupes. Stay Cool and have a really nice summer Man!!
PS Did you ever hear of a product called Aerospace 303 UV protectant sealer and waterproofer... it comes in the fabric type and it also comes in the plastic, vinyl, and leather version. This is an expensive but unbelievably excellent product. My interior is like brand new. I even use that on the exterior vinyl wood paneling. It's actually used on spaceships to protect against UV and also many people use it for their boats. I buy the marine version with the picture of the boat on it. TY.

No disrespect to Florida but Chicago niccas been riding donks since forever as well,it’s a lot of OG’s that’s dead & in the feds they had some of the cleanest donks you’d ever want to see I remember being a kid growing up on the south side of Chicago watching the OG’s ride em on 30’s & Vogues ect,the car game always been popping in the Midwest you had to have been there from a G-20 Chevy van to a G body Malibu we’ve rode em ask any nicca from the Midwest & they’d tell ya also don’t sleep on Naptown,Detroit, or Milwaukee Wisconsin they been doing it just as long,I salute Florida they have some nice donks in my opinion the 71& 73 is the hardest donks my opinion no hate just my opinion,I think Trick Daddy just gave Florida National coverage.💯👁✊🏾

Not really. You can ride in a convertible year round in Florida, can't do that in cold ass states in the Midwest. Plus most of those cars been rusted out in the Midwest.

I prefer the look of the 1976 with the square headlights. Otherwise the same as a 75.

To me it's all about putting the '76 front clip on a '75 convertible. That's the ultimate to me. I much prefer the square headlights of a 1976, they just didn't make a convertible in 1976.

That red original convertible is the stuff dreams are made of for sure. If I could have any car, it would be my 73 Caprice coupe in showroom condition, perhaps in convertible form. They ruined the coupes in 74 with that hideous "opera window", sure hope that stylist was fired. My 73 had 245,000 miles on it with the original engine and tranny, such a shame the northeast rust ruined it finally. These cars are what GM did best....

@@KandyonChrome You are so right...These cars did so many things right, except for fuel mileage. I would love to have one again, but live in the northeast with no garage....
