I’m a descendant of the Sufi saint and Pir-e-Herat, Abu Ismail Abdullah al-Herawi al-Ansari and Abu Ayub al-Ansari…my ancestors came from Arabia, through Turkey, and east through Afghanistan into what is now Pakistan and India. We were not Pakhtoon, but were Arabs. This man knows his history.

The Sufis were mostly Persians, later Rehman Baba and other Punjabi awliya came.
People think that Sufi's are in a very little number in Khyber Pukhtun Khuwa.

Indeed, no one can deny the fact that the people of waziristan and in the vicinity are religious. but the did not teach them that killing a person is same as genocide. They didn't teach them that a sister and daughter has a half portion of inheritance in a property of thier parents.

I love the nice people of KPK and enjoy every moment in their company but it doesn't mean that all are good people only, just like any other community/ethnicity they also have mix bag of good and bad people, and, due to lawlessness and lack of education, their behavior is sometimes very primitive. True, all three movements, whether be Barelvi, Deobandi, or Ahlal-Hadith movements have been influenced by Islam that came from Khorasan part of Afghanistan. Whether it be Persian Afghans(Dari Speakers) or Pashtoon Afghans(Pashto Speakers).
For your kind information Afghan mean Only Pashtoon...only Pashtoon is called Afghan....if someone is not Pashtoon then he she is not Afghan.

Mysticism is parallel religion. So strange that mystic's self appraising and appraising only those who follow them as rightly guided.
Sufi sab has made rasicts remarks which is the core of this ideology.
He explains every good has come from his people and rest of punjabis are at lower level "spirtually".
He should also explain along with all the good: why drugs, weapons, bride selling, homosexuality and lawlessness has from his area.
he never said punjabis are lowers or they're are any better, he simply that there is absence of distractions in that area which allows them to stay away from sin.

TCM, this is a really fascinating series and I’m writing about it separately because I spend a lot of time doing research in KP, but please do take out some time to read the comments below. Some of them are genuinely alarming and divisive, and I wonder whether your title was an appropriate one. It’s ending up acting like click bait, with all due respect. It doesn’t do justice at all to what the bazurgh in the video is trying to explain.
He’s speaking of a gradual movement of ideas that did flow in a particular direction once upon a time in history - most proximately to Waziristan (in current day Pakistan) from the western front of Afghanistan. There is an actual history to why ideas travelled this way and from where and when. Consider Imam Ghazali’s reformative ideas that evolved in Damascus, but which he carried back to what is present day Iraq/Iran, from where students traveled further with those ideas. Most likely into Central Asia, then Afghanistan, then United India, which was then partitioned into India and Pakistan.
But people here are misinterpreting this left and right as a battle for ethnic superiority, which is unfortunate and probably not what you intended through this series. Please either present longer pieces or balance them with multiple historical perspectives as is good practice for documentary work worldwide. To anyone else here about to go wild over my reference to ethnic superiority, for full disclosure I am 3rd generation Lahori by descent, not by birth, but reside in Lahore and am not ethnically Punjabi and have always felt the need to travel towards the northwest of Pakistan to understand some pressing matters in my mind and heart for various reasons. It should be OK for Pakistanis, Muslims and humans in general to want to know each other, to love, care for, and come to respect each other. It is the way of human history. Pitting one bloodline as superior over another is not the way of any of humankind’s greatest leaders, and if you are Muslim, was certainly not the way of Rasool Allah (PBUH). May God shine His Light on us all, and grant us of His Mercy and even a fraction of His Knowledge ameen.
Also, just FYI, there is established genealogical evidence that Pashtuns are described as tribes either by lineage or by association (those who have over centuries subscribed to Pashtunwali and chosen to live in proximity/harmony with Pashtuns that they gradually assimilated). So just for very objective research purposes, I would be a bit more reflective/nuanced on the conclusion in your episode description, which I can understand can lead to flaring of tempers because it comes off as a somewhat essentialising statement (that all key Sufi saints of the Subcontinent were basically Pashtun). Again, it isn’t something the bazurgh says clearly himself either. Thanks.

It was the locals of Pothowar and Gilgit Baltistan that drove the Dogras out. It was Niazi Khan (a Pashtun) who surrendered in 1971 etc.,
It was Punjabi’s that built this country for the most part whereas many Pashtuns still live backward lives. Imran khan isn’t special either, can you tell me some of great achievements ?
