    Young brother, thank you for what you do! I'm 55 years old and this Covid-19 has us all scattering to find ways to stay groomed. I've learned a lot, not only watching , but listening to you as you go through the processes. You are definitely a teacher--don't ever lose that gift. I've had to cut not only my own, but my 2 sons and so far 4 of my nephews hair. I've never realized how therapeutic barbering could be, but you have to respect the craft and take baby steps. This is definitely something I want to get better at. Again, thank you for sharing your insight and making us all feel comfortable and encouraged as we learn. God Bless...

    When fading the guide line, do you flick out like the 'C' motion? Or just up and down?
    Also, can u fade with a taper clipper or need to be fade clipper?

    • @user-md2fm7ik2z
      @user-md2fm7ik2z Před 3 lety +1

      You can definitely fade with a taper blade!
      C motion is best used with taper blade. With the fade blade, you have to avoid going in with the point of the blade as it will poke the skin. Imagine like this; with taper blade the “C” motion of clipper looks like this: ) And with fade blade the motion looks more like this: ⤴️

    Do you have any good videos on raking?

  • @vincutz4187
    @vincutz4187 Před 4 lety

    Do you only use raking when blending from no guard to 1? Or do you use it in other transitions as well? Also, does raking make smoother transitions or is it used to save time?

    • @KevvThaw
      @KevvThaw  Před 4 lety +1

      Racking from any guide to the one above it. And it would be used for both of those situations actually. Every step here is an attempt to create a smooth transition.

      I wanna know to

    • @KevvThaw
      @KevvThaw  Před 4 lety

      Short answer is of course you can. The biggest difference you'll see is the speed at which you can complete the task. Cheaper blades don't have as much funding towards it's battery, blades, build, etc. So where my clipper would cut evenly with 2 passes, yours may take 5-10. Not only would it take longer but it'll probably heat up faster, the adjustment lever probably doesn't reach as far. Few things you'd have to check for. hope that helps!
