Literally just played a few days ago and it was fine. Definitely has to be that recent update that messed it up for me/us. Hopefully they fix it soon. RIP
Found a quick fix that worked for me. Just Uninstall RIOT VANGUARD, not the actual Valorant Client. Then when you open Valorant, it will re-install Vanguard. You'll re-start and run the game as Administrator. This worked for me. When I re-started, my PC crashed like before but after the second restart, the game finally opened. Hope it works for you! :)
After I signed in, the game did not launch at all. Tried re installing several times, didnt work either. This did work for me: open CMD on windows and write setx OPENSSL_ia32cap ~0x20000000 then enter and that is all. It was posted by a Rioter on twitter

For those still having the problem, while loading, press F11 so that you’ll exit out of fullscreen and from there on, you’ll be able to type your display name.

@Syrex ye you restart the pc when you delete the vanguard with cmd then after restart you delete the files and reinstall the game

you need to restart your pc in order for the anti cheat to work. After restarting your pc, it should launch up fine.
