I’m 5’5” and stubby. Been conscious NOT of my height, but of my fashion sense since the early 90s. And I’ve learned the biggest key to appearing taller than you are two things. One, tops, if untucked should never fall below your crotch. I try to shoot as close to my waistline as possible, especially for oversized styles. And two, pants baggy or slim should NEVER be touching the floor. That’s automatically gonna make you look short! I kinda don’t agree with the high waist look because if you’re already short a high waist pant will only make your torso even shorter. It’s all about the crotch! lol I agree that slim styles will make you look short if you’re a skinny guy. But I’ve learned with my stubby stature, the slim look worked for me for nearly two decades. Did the oversized thing in the 90s and now that it’s back, I’ve learned to refine the look based off the two points I follow. Of course, I don’t strictly follow them, experimentation is key. Everyone’s body is different, short or not.

It makes me very self conscious. I've started to buy slim fit pants now and it is improving my look but joggers still tend to look a bit wider or longer on me.
