The odds are actually pretty good that you'll get a nice view with these rooms. We've had very good luck with the studio and 1 bedroom value rooms that we've booked.
I recently stayed here and it was plenty of room! We loved it and had a savannah view. Perhaps partially obstructed on ostrich trail. One of ny best experiences on vacation. My mom and kids loved it and the kitchenette was exactly what we needed.
We stayed in the value studio when the kids were small and they were a great use of points. We have also stayed in a 1 bedroom value too and loved that room also.
YAY! It’s Jenn! I love that you made this video comparison. I love Animal Kingdom Lodge! I’m not a DVC owner and must use my active military discount to purchase these rooms from Disney! Notwithstanding, well done Jenn!🥳👌🥰
Hey, thanks so much for watching. Those military discounts are AWESOME! Do you stay at Shades of Green often? My in-laws stayed there and we thought it was a great resort, with huge rooms!
@@TheMagicInTheMusic No, I haven’t stayed there yet! My Aunt has and loved it, but hates how we must pay for overnight parking. I’m kind of spoiled! I purchase my Salute to the Armed Forces tickets but I love the WDW resort hotels. I too, have a TouringPlans membership which helps me choose my room once I select military basic package. I love all of your videos and I am binge watching your recent WDW trip! You are my little inspiration on all things DVC and WDW! 🧚♀️ 🥳💙💜🎉
Great work, Jen! I love the split screen effect. You're making me very impatient for my late August trip, which will be three nights in a Jambo standard studio and two nights in a standard studio at Riviera, my two home resorts. I just got back from my first trip as a DVC owner. I had a Kidani standard studio. I enjoyed it, but I think I prefer the vibe at Jambo house in general. I'll see as I get more experience with DVC. I hope to someday get a value studio, but I am proud that I already booked a Riviera Tower studio stay for next February!
I loved the side-by-side comparison, very helpful and well filmed!! Now I’m tempted to see if I can rent one of these at my 7 month DVC window… just because I like a challenge!
Honestly, I'm not sure where the barbecue area is. The tennis courts at AKV are VERY far away from the main building, and sometimes they put grilling areas near those kind of areas. But I can't imagine anyone going out there. Maybe there's a grilling area closer to the buildings. I would have to look into that. Thanks so much for watching!
I am about to stay in a value at AKL. Even if we don't get lucky to get the savannah view since those specific rooms are limited, would you say there are plenty of additional animal viewing areas around the resort to enjoy and make up for that?
I hate to tell you this, but no. It's highly unlikely to happen. You can always try, but definitely go in with the understanding that it will probably not happen. Best wishes!
Thanks for watching! You can only really book DVC rooms with your points... there is an option to "trade" your points for regular hotel bookings at Disney, but this is a VERY BAD value and I would not recommend doing it. Many of the DVC properties are getting fold down queen murphy beds with their refurbishments in recent years, which essentially makes them into 2-queen-bed configurations. I think this is a big upgrade for the DVC studios, but unfortunately this upgrade has not come to Animal Kingdom Villas yet. Fingers crossed that they go to this setup at AKV in the future.
Do you think it would be worth waitlisting? I have a res for AKL Deluxe studio in Jan and am waitlisting a value room. Do you think I would be better off waitlisting the boardwalk?
Honestly, it's probably not worth waitlisting any value rooms because the inventory is SO LOW for those rooms. Your best bet is to use that waitlist for something with a larger inventory, like a Garden/Pool view studio at BW. There are quite a few of those rooms, so your statistical likelihood of getting one on a waitlist is much better. I would also avoid waitlisting the standard view studio at BW because that has a smaller inventory than the garden/pool view studio. Of course is you have 2 waitlists available, you could always try to get 2 of those options. Best of luck to you!
I’m not certain of that. Disney owns a small fraction of the points at each resort and they are able to “rent” them out as cash (normal) reservations. It’s theoretically possible for them to make one of these rooms available to book, but it would be very rare.
Have you ever booked a value studio? Do you think this room category is worth the effort it takes to book it?
Yes we have! Great value rooms. I bet some of these have better views than some of the rooms at Kidani.

It’s nice to see them side-by-side.
Just snagged a 1-bedroom value at Jambo at 6 months out for a 7-night stay in August. Very fortunate indeed and thank you for the tour!
Wow! That's a very rare reservation to get! Congrats!
Really cool to see that side by side comparison! We did snag a one bedroom value once which was pretty awesome.
I remember! You’re a DVC booking pro!
We stayed in the value studio when the kids were small and they were a great use of points. We have also stayed in a 1 bedroom value too and loved that room also.
Yeah, all of the value rooms are a fantastic deal! We love to stay in them. Thanks so much for watching!
Awesome edit! I always find side-by-side comparisons so helpful. 😃
Thanks! It was pretty funny to realize how I had filmed both tours in a nearly identical way! Lol!
This video was great…. Thank you so much for this! We just snagged a value room for spring break in 2024
I'm so glad that you found it to be helpful. Congrats on the value room! It's a fantastic deal!

We love Kidani, but it’s hard to beat the energy (and food options) of Jambo House. 👍

Oh, that’s a challenge for sure! 😮
Excellent video! I find your videos very useful! Thank you!
Thanks so much! 👍😎
This video was so helpful! Thanks for all the detailed information
Thanks for watching!
This is so awesome😀.
Thanks, great tour! I would love to see the barbeque are, since there is no kitchen.

Love the comparison. We got a 1bdr.
That’s one of my favorite DVC rooms! I’m thinking about grabbing one for our summer 2023 trip. 👍
Thanks!
Wow! Thank you SO MUCH! 😀

Yes, absolutely! We rarely have Savannah views, and we always get to see animals.
I guess I’m super lucky… I am renting a value room from a DVC member who decided to not use the reservation!
Yes, you are! Enjoy that value room! 😎
This was super helpful! Do you think I have any chance of booking a value at 7 month park?!
I hate to tell you this, but no. It's highly unlikely to happen. You can always try, but definitely go in with the understanding that it will probably not happen. Best wishes!
Great video! As a DVC member can you book a standard guest room, with two queen beds? How many points would that be?

@@TheMagicInTheMusic Thank you for explaining that! I have really enjoyed watching and learned so much from your DVC videos♥️

Is the value two bedroom difficult to get?
Yes, very difficult to get - it requires a value studio AND and value 1 bedroom to be available, because it’s comprised of both units together.
Is this room only available for dvc members ?
I’m not certain of that. Disney owns a small fraction of the points at each resort and they are able to “rent” them out as cash (normal) reservations. It’s theoretically possible for them to make one of these rooms available to book, but it would be very rare.
