- I speak to lead authors on a new paper describing exciting possibilities for ancient life on Mars.
The authors, Patrick Gasd and Nina Lanza used the ChemCam instrument on NASA's Curiosity Rover and found elevated levels of manganese. What does this mean? COuld it be a sing of alien life , what does it say about anient conditions on Mars? Were they Earth like? Lets find out - Věda a technologie
The explanation of the chemcam is fantastic, and fascinating. Thanks for the content!
Thanks
very interesting and exciting analysis
Thanks
Cool! I've seen this lady many times in Discovery documentaries. It is nice that she agreed to talk to you, Phil!
Thanks
Wonderful , cheers, thanks to you all for being smarter and harder working than me!
Thanks
Another absolute BANGER! Nice one Phil
Nifty as usual !
Thanks
very satisfying to see how we can arrive at big picture stuff - like opportunities for life on boundaries - from quite technical details like redox chemistry in minerals.
Yes exactly
We know earth and mars exchange material. Especially during asteroid strike eras.
I think we will find, if it can host liquid water, life follows quickly.
It does on Earth so I think that's likely but who knows?
Aren't perchlorates super common in Mars soil and aren’t perchlorates potent oxidizers?
Hey you three!! There's plenty of oxygen on Mars! Enough for a rich atmosphere! Follow the caves to the Turbinium mine and activate the oxygen generator!!!!
God please stop putting "Life on Mars" when that's not what something is about. Obviously if there was life on Mars you wouldn't be breaking it on a CZcams video.
It's about whether there was life on Mars but yes we have to a slightly sexier title
@@PhilHalper1 No you don't! If every video about Martian habitibility says "Life on Mars" then the phrase means NOTHING!
