TASMANIA'S BEST 4WD TRACKS- Roothy
My suggested weekend starts something like this. Step one, send the Handbrake to her mum’s, step two, hit the drive thru bottle shop, err, sorry about that. Where were we? Tasmania? OK, for us north islanders, the big shock about off-roading in Tasmania is how bloody brilliant it is and how incredibly remote you can get without being more than a few hours as the crow flies from town.
But the crow doesn’t have to negotiate steep slippery hills does he? Not for him the greasy mud patches, bogs, rock strewn tracks with gutters bigger than a Patrol with roof racks and beach sand softer than a politician’s hands. Yep, you’ve got it, a magic place to drive off-road!
“Oh, and Roothy, I’ve got a surprise for you mate. The Tasmanian brewers Boags have heard about you, they’re giving us a cut price deal on a palette of their finest. Looks like we’ll be seeing Tasmania in style, after dark at least.”
“You beauty!” I love these trips away. Sure we do some tough all-day driving but the nights spent swapping yarns around a campfire and knocking back a few coldies before swagging it more than make up for that. It’s a pity to have to leave the Handbrake behind and all but I figure absence makes the heart grow fonder. I know we’ll both survive.
Especially one of us with a couple of cold Boags under his belt. Too easy!

Love Roothy’s commentary this is a man that truely loves this country. Also like his driving style he obviously has a lot of mechanical sympathy as he doesn’t just put the foot down and hope for the best he assesses the situation then goes at it with care and attention to what’s happening.
Learning from the best for sure. He has a video all about mechanical sympathy, worth the watch for anyone who hasn't.
Imagine if Roothy was your Grandpa ❤
I think he might be my dad....I was born in 1951, whadya reckon?
That would be cool.
Be that grandpa!!
Love seeing the old episodes come back!
Love Roothy, wood walk right through those tracks in my 06 TJ Rubi
So give give it a go mate! Great fun!!!
@@JOHNROOTHROOTHY John you are a legend, I wouldn't walk through em, but I would do my best, problem is I am over in Canada eh!
@@JOHNROOTHROOTHY I have been binge watching the videos. Fantastic work John. You seem like the best guy to go 4 wheeling with and kicking back with a few cold pints. God bless.
Very cool mate, helps for our planning for our next trip. Thanks 😎👍
Go gettem roothy....yeeehaaaa🤠
Thanks so much for posting these Roothy! What an adventure, can't wait to get some mud and scratches on my new one.
its only the best down here cobba goodonya john cheers
Thanks for bringing back the 10 year old footage (which still have on DVD .... somewhere ! )
Very like NZ Tassie just beautiful
We have a b.utt pucker similar to this washout section at "wallaby Rocks trail (hard option)" in my local range the "grampians" in Victoria.
But it's a u-bolt also and inclined, you have maybe 4" acceptable wheel placement on the outside. If you go to far its about 100 metres down and pretty much vertical. Highly recommended if you have the steel the veiw is awsome to say the least.
Probably not ideal for my stock 07 rodeo but she takes it well.
been keeping my eye out for a back yard cook up 👍
❤ your stuff Roothy.
Where would we be with out you
Great video roothy. Best one yet loved it. Keep it up mate.
Uppa milo 🤙👌
Amazing night off road.

Thanks - we used to try hard anyway!
@@JOHNROOTHROOTHY are you guys still making new content mate? Would be great to see more from you and your crew
Very cool sir!
Now I know why I can't watch old 4WD Action episodes with Roothy because the flogs at 4WD Supacentre own them and probably refuse to release them. Hopefully this is a start supacentre, release the old episodes during this lockdown ya Bastards.
Cool
And not only did the fauna grow back but so did the FLORA
Fauna is animal life John
Flora is plant life
