Teresa, I found your channel again! I missed seeing your videos but regardless of when they were uploaded, they are still relevant & I can learn from them! Thank you so much.
There is nice English clarity in how you explain your process.
thanks so much for this wonderful great inspiration/idea
Fabulous! Once I start pulling I hate to stop! Now to pull out and dust off my pans!!!!
Thank you!!
Thank you for the inspiration 😊
Thank you!!
Love your videos! Please do more. Thank you for sharing
Thank you!!
I really enjoyed watching you doing that technique. It's so pretty.
Thank you!!
I just ordered my first pan pastels. I am looking forward to playing with them. People keep saying how expensive they are. They aren't cheap, but mine were $3.98 each for the 3 metallics that I bought and $24.98 for the sets with 7 pan pastels and 5 soft tools. Thats cheaper than a lot of full sized ink pads. I know they aren't like an ink pad in that you can reink them, but from everything I have understood, from CZcams, they last a long time.
I plan on gel printing with them, but I also hope they go over embossed card panels well. I'm curious if I can get a quick blended background with these.
Pan Pastels do last a long time and are a great quality product, hence the high price tag. The blend beautifully together, You will need to use a spray pastel sealant though, to avoid smudges, etc.
Loved all your prints, they made some lovely cards , and your frame was lovely too,,,,. Xxxx 🦋💕🌺🌸
Thank you!!
I have the whole afternoon to play and get inky/painty. Just decided to go get my gel plate out and get messy! Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you!!
Oh this was just great! I'm inspired to do this with my Pan Pastels (thank goodness they don't go bad, they're pretty old)
Thank you!! Have fun x
Hi Teresa! Do you need to spray the finished piece with a fixative or clear sealer? Your videos are so inspirational to me and I love them!! But you're right, Pan Pastels are very expensive. Thank you Teresa! Take care.
thank you for sharing, I too have some lonely pan pastels
Thank you!! It's funny how we buy stuff then don't use it for ages.
What a fantastic technique, they all looked amazing. Maybe a bit of a daft question, but can I use my ordinary pastels?
Thank you!! I don't see why not - Pan Pastels are very highly pigmented, but other than that, they are very similar to regular soft pastels.
@@TeresaMorgan My bank balance thanks you 😉 I'm starting to dabble in more than just inks, time to step out of my comfort zone!
Love this use of pan pastels. Can I ask who makes that sunburst stencil?
Thank you!! It's from DecoArt, part of a twin pack called Tribal Accents.
Crazy about the mandala... the pattern and my favorite colors... teal, turquoise. Really enjoyed the technique - what would happen if you didn't put the white paint on top? Just wondering since you're using white paper... does the pattern with the colors produce something different without a light coating of paint on top?... just wondering/curious. I don't use my gel plates nearly as much as I should. And, I like this month's quote - so true, so true. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thankyou - the paint layer is what 'lifts' the whole print from the plate and 'sticks' it to the paper. It helps prevent the pastels from smudging on the paper, and I don't think the pastel would transfer to the paper well without it.
@@TeresaMorgan Great to know... thank you. I'm going to give it a try this week. Wish me luck. LOL
Thank you for posting, Teresa. I love the soft colors. Do you seal the finished pan pastel print with anything so that they don't smudge?
Thank you!! The pastels don't really smudge as the paint holds them on the paper well. You could add a light spray of fixative as well, I guess, but I didn't bother.
Thanks, Teresa. I'm eager to try it with my pan pastels that have been quite neglected!
What have you found to work best on cleaning off your gel press when using pan pastels? I've heard they are extra tricky to completely remove.
Use baby oil to clean the plate afterwards.
There is some staining (especially the red and yellow) but I just kept pulling prints onto scrap paper until there was no more transfer. As Vonalda said, try baby oil. The staining doesn't bother me, I have used alcohol inks on my plate and they left it looking green/yellow!!
@@TeresaMorgan Thanks ...I can live with stains....if you can't arting probably isn't for you!
