Carl Sagan's first wife Lynn Margulis was an amazing biologist who studied symbiosis, came up with the Gaia hypothesis and the modern concept of how life arose on Earth. -- She rocked!!!

I think Carl Sagan was married to someone else at the time
Yes, he was married to Linda Salzman Sagan at the time, and she ALSO worked on the Voyager record as the "Greetings" coordinator. Carl and Linda didn't divorce until 1981, so...that's 4 after the Voyager stuff. The situation might have been awkward, or maybe they were all cool with it. I don't know for sure, but there's talk of a movie about the Sagan/Druyan relationship, so maybe we'll find out.

L-O-L 18:19 "Thanks to this one brave woman" hilarious because she didn't care about Gay rights when she thought it would risk her wealthy white privilege, and then she only stood up for Gay rights to protect her wealthy white privilege. I mean if that's not the definition of bravery then I don't know what is. I love this series because sincere unintentional ridiculousness makes me scream laughing more than any other form of comedy.
