Most underrated song. Thank you Ini Kamoze for brightening up my teenage years when you dropped this song.
Same here!!🎉
_Underrated_ how?
Everything that's ever been done anywhere is either _"underrated"_ or _"criminally underrated"_ to CZcams know-nothings 😂😂
if u listen to this song u like classic songs
Nope. We're here because we experienced the 90s!!
That's right.....Heartbeat my man!
I love this song..listen to it everyday to get into a good mood..really always missing the 80’s-90’s..music and people and attitudes even funny but still fun and cool ..anyone else
A message to the future generations. Don't let this song die.
A message to the future generations. Don't continue making stupid comments like this.
Understood 🫡
Haha 2023 might be every thing is racist and they want the world to go silent lol and next year no visuals either lmfao
Ok grampa
It was just in like 4 movies and shows this year. It’s fine
This song doesn't have to worry about aging, because it's timeless!!
It also does not have to worry about storage because it's spaceless!
@@infinitesimotel good 👍
the video though??? never put a fashion show in a music video that ages like fine milk xD
We talkin about the same song that has the line "I know what Bo don't know"? 🤔

One of the best songs still listening in 2024
Agree.
Heard this at a club recently. Everybody over 35 hit the dance floor.
That definitely would have been me 😂
not only 32 and up good music makes any body dance doesn't matter the age but guess you saying that cause you can't get and dance on the dance floor lmo
Anyone 25 and up would be on the dance floor to this banger the roof off the building would get blown off soon as this hit them speaker's

Here we are in June 2024 listening to our music and dancing, who's with me
I’m in a bad mood on the verge of giving up 12 years of sobriety but this song is getting me through it. Music is mood changing, in my case life saving. Sounds dramatic but it’s where I am right now. Thank you music gods!
Please don't
One day at a time...hang in there, it's so easy to pick up and the horror after isn't worth it❤
Never give up. Always think of what you have been through. Stay humble bro
Yes!!! Use music to your advantage, keep going, one day at a time and ask God for help 🙏
Dont know ya but i hope you made it thru the shite. If you truly want to keep sober and music helps you should check out the tesky brothers Hold Me Down. If you have no love for gospel soul tunes skip it. Close your eyes and youll swear otis is alive and living in an australian white boy. If you liked it try jimmy barnes and Josh Tesky. Youll swear marvin gaye is alive and living i the same guy. Then hit jimmy barnes and sam moore from sam and dave from the 60s Sam is still rippen it up. Jimmy b is recouping from oen heart surgery. Hope this helps
The bass line for this is legendary
Absolutely! My next project is to learn this!
It's from Taana Gardners song Heartbeat :)
Floor-standing speakers for the win! (If you know, you know!). 👍
LEGEN wait for it, DARY!!!
It's a sample of "Heartbeat"
Never gets old. It's impossible to not like this tune.
Pretty much
Agree... Video is perfect too.
Oh yes it is . its shit
I do agree!
But, 1.5 thousand people seam to disagree!
There is a lot of good things that someone won't like
Still good for me!!
BRILLIANT
This jam could be released today and go top 5 easily.
Hell, it’d probably hit #1 again.
AGREED.
even the imitations amongst nationalities and cultures are hitting #1 .
@@sk-may lol I guess. To tell you the truth, aside from a few good songs here and there, mainstream radio music has been garbage since 2003 so I don’t even pay attention anymore. 😂

@@sk-may oh ya I knew about that. Even my dad, who hardly likes any post 1980 music, liked this song cuz of the samples used from previous music.

Dude, I played this cuz I heard someone at work mumbling the song for a sec as I walked by and I am watching it to get it OUT of MY head!! Jesus friggin...., the song is like 40 years old and still has the same power to drive ya nuts. A great jam though, no doubt. And I am a Metal Head, 55 yrs. old. Good music always lives on. Some metal from the 80`s now bores the shit outta me and I wonder why I listened to it! A lot of Budwieser, I guess.

I remember this being real popular back then..this was one of those songs that was more popular than the movie it's from. Same with gangstas paradise by coolio

I agree, And I am proof. I've always loved this song. I graduated 1999And I have no idea what movie this is from.
What movie is this from?
We live in a day and age where we have no excuses to let music like this to die
Still jamming in 2024 let's go for it
"Here Comes the Hotstepper" contains several samples, including vocals from "The Champ" by The Mohawks (1968), "Hot Pants" by Bobby Byrd (1972), and "La Di Da Di" by Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick (1985). The song's instrumental samples the drums and bass from "Heartbeat" by Taana Gardner (1981) and guitar notes from "Hung Up on My Baby" by Isaac Hayes (1974). The song uses the "na na na na na..." chorus from the Cannibal and the Headhunters version of "Land of a Thousand Dances" (1962), and the verse vocal melody is reminiscent of The Beatles' "Come Together", which was inspired by Chuck Berry's "You Can't Catch Me".
This remix of this song is called the "Heartical Mix", because I like this version of the song all the time. This uses various clips & scenes from the movie Ready to Wear (Prêt-à-Porter), which came out the same year as this song.
I was in Germany in the mid 90's, likely by mid August 1994, when the song came out.
what a classic
Neat info on this song. Thanks for sharing!
What is that sound from originally in the beginning? The hu huh hu huh huh that Ice Cube used a lot.
Danke schön fur die informationen und sharing. Ja, das ist eine soundtrack der Pret a Porter von Robert Altman in 1994. A nice film, which many film critics considered it one of the weakest of Altman's films. Whatever. Being one of Altman's die hard fans, i saw the film several times when it came out in 1994. I think it was quite entertaining, amusing, weird, silly and oh yes, amazing to see those famous faces (on characters and as themselves) talking chatting bantering amusing each other, all those overlapping that could only happen on Altman's films😂
Nice breakdown of what’s sampled. That’s what’s up.
This and Return of the Mack got me moving
Return of the Mack was one of the greats ❤️

Still great music out there, just need to look for it more now days. The big music corporation mainly like pushing mediocrity, look elsewhere...
Shit you must be older then me I'm 39 was a 16 1996 pump this shit
That era had more funk. I think that's the main difference. More cool basslines, nice simple drums, a good soul clap and lyrics to sing along. I think most music back then was really meant to be danced to. Nowadays it all has some weird themes and rarely it is about having fun. Miss the positive vibes.
Yes... And now it's even worse than music sucks and the people pretty much suck as well
