Curious who ‘Jen’ is so I can watch her too. I can’t get enough of watching good soapers. I just love watching you. It’s gonna be a good day when I wake up to see a notification from you.
I recently purchased your triple butter bar, and my expectations were high because I am a fan. This soap did not disappoint! It is lovely! Thank you for all your videos.
Would have loved to have been able to get some of this bar before your closing cause I was drawn to the milks and butters inside!! A favorite type I love to make myself! U are absolutely a very talented soaper!! I wish you and your family well and will continue enjoying your channel!! God bless!❤
This looks good enough to eat! I wish you taught classes in person. I never get tired of watching you make soap. I would LOVE to learn first hand from you.
It’s always a pleasure to watch you do your magic. And watching you remake a soap is a bit like seeing an old friend! How long to you wait from the time to pour before you shake your tops? Gorgeous as always. 🤩❤️🧼
Thanks! It really depends on how fast the batter is moving, with this one, I did the tops as soon as it was in the mold. But other times, I've had to wait a good while..
I’ve soaped with BeScented’s Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin and it was wonderful. I absolutely love this scent. I also made some candles and wax melts with it❤ I love your videos and love seeing repeats.
Do you have a video on a unscented soap? I would love to see a simple soap with no fragrance. Also, I think it’ll be really great if you did a soap made with grocery store available ingredients. Something that we could do without special additives and fragrances.
I’m glad you mentioned customer reviews. I use those as my testing 😂. I know I should not but they have not let me down this far. I also look for the test notes from the vendor very helpful when choosing a fragrance oil.
It's so faszinating how you are able to swirl a butter-heavy recipe and on top a fast moving fragrance. Specially mangobutter can be a little b...tch and move fast. It's truly magical ❤
I have made candles with a similar fragrance and it was absolutely gorgeous love the swirls and colours in the soap. Aww i never get tired of your video's keep on showing your video's 😊 xx
Always wonderful swirls!! I love soaping with moisturizing oils! Especially shea, mango & lanolin ! The milks are also a favorite as well as fresh aloe pulp! Wonderful skin properties!! Ur such a great soaper!
These are BEAUTIFUL 😍 would you be able to share the recipe with the percentages? I would love to be able to try and recreate these since you are no longer selling!
I make goat milk soap and didn't realize I could add so many dry ingredients (I add oats and clay to my soaps now because of your videos 😊). My question is, if I can come up with a recipe that uses all of the butters you use, should I eliminate the goat milk and only use a water lye solution since you are already adding buttermilk and cream powders. Thanks! Beautiful soap!
Hello, I’ll Give You some Good advice. The Soaps will Look better with Wraparound Cardboard Tags, and with The Ingredients on the Back of that Instead of Your PAper STickers. The CArd gets glued Together.
Hi Ellen! Quick question for you. I'm not sure if you would know or not since my question is for hot process. (I don't really do cold process anymore)...But what would the best way to add the powdered milks to hot process soap? I feel like if I added them to the hot oils they would scorch? I do High Temp Hot Process so the oils are about 200º when I add the lye water... Thank you and love your videos, experience and tips!! ♥
Personally, I would add the powders to either the oils (and blend well) or to the lye water... I'd love to hear what experienced HP makers say on this.
Hello, I am starting out with cold press soaps. And I am lost. What kind of oil, lye, and other ingredients do I need? Can you please point me to the right direction?
Do you have any suggestions for a big mistake I made on my cocoa butter soap. I was making a 1 lb batch and it said to add 3.2 oz and I accidentally put 9.2 oz but did'nt realize what I did till I went the next day to try take it out the mold. It never harden. It's so soft. Any Suggestions that I can do with this soap now? If I melt it and add 10 grams of lye to 20ml water to the melted oil, would it work ? I don't know what to do with it. It's only a 1 lb. of soap but what a waste. I was disappointed because I was making sunflower soaps 😞
Gel phase is a part of the saponification process where the soap gets hot - up to 180°F. If it gets too hot, it can swell and crack the top of the soap or even create a "volcano" effect.
Whether a remake or a new one, it is always nice to watch you make soap. Thanks for the teaching!! Blessings
Thanks for watching💛
The soap looks great. I am not tired of seeing a soap you have made previously.
Keep showing, 100% we LOVE your videos 😊.
Yay! Thank you!💛

You could use goat milk in a triple butter formula, it would be wonderful💛

Thank you for reminding me, that is actually on my "to do" list❣️
Ellen those are beautiful
Thank you💛
it's a beauty, I am wondering if anyone tried making soap with home made butter and whip cream? I am thinking about trying

Very nice!!
Very pretty
Thank you! 😊
Love all of your videos! As a business owner, how do you determine when to make new batches of soap since the cure time is long?
I'm always thinking a season ahead. So my Fall soaps were made in the middle of summer...
Beautiful soap! Question, by leaving the lid off does that help the soap not getting soda ash?
I haven't noticed a difference with soda ash, just helps to keep it cooler..💛
Do you have a tutorial on your lye solution with the additives that you are using?
Here's a video where I talk about preping the lye solution: czcams.com/video/igLQbGKuf0E/video.html

@@EllenRuthSoap Thank you and me too! 😊❤️
How can I get the recipe for this soap? Thank you for all you do, Ellen!
I don't share this particular recipe, but here is a video with several recipes and how to use soap calc:
czcams.com/video/SO5n4uWEVO0/video.html
What's the purpose of the CL and sugar?
And can l just double up the dry milk powder in place of heavy cream and milk without recalculating?
The sugar is a lather booster, but you can totally omit it if desired. And yes, milk powder is wonderful in soap, you don’t need to double😉
would it be possible to do a similar thing with a melt and pour soap?
I'm not a MP expert, so I'm not really sure??
❤❤❤
Hello, I am starting out with cold press soaps. And I am lost. What kind of oil, lye, and other ingredients do I need? Can you please point me to the right direction?
I suggest Bramble Berry, they have great beginner tutorials and recipes.
Could you please share where you purchased the melt and pour soap cutter?
I'm not sure what you mean?? I don't have a MP soap cutter.?
@@EllenRuthSoap I must be going crazy. I thought that I watched one of your videos and you had a cutter for melt and pour. Sigh. Sorry for confusion

If you can calculate the missing lye ratio, you can rebatch it and correct.
Where can I purchase the large measuring cups you mix your soap in?
They're listed in my Amazon store👍
What happens if they get too hot in the mold?
Also, what is “gel phase”?
Gel phase is a part of the saponification process where the soap gets hot - up to 180°F. If it gets too hot, it can swell and crack the top of the soap or even create a "volcano" effect.
Do you have any recipe book? I want this recipe!!!
I have a whole recipe playlist where I share lots of recipes.
The a in Shea is silent so it's pronounced Shay spelled Shea. I've even googled it too be sure and it is Pronounced Shay(Shea).
I know this is a stupid question, but can I use regular 2% milk from the store instead of goats milk?
Not a stupid question at all, yes you can use cow milk instead of goat milk👍
@@EllenRuthSoap thank you
How do you keep your tops from developing ash?
I use a steep water discount, but still get ash sometimes. Then I steam the tops with a clothing steamer to shine them up.
@@EllenRuthSoap thank you ♥️
Your link for Goodspeed says it is not selling on Etsy
Yes, his shop has been effected by the war in Urkraine.
Did you use “deodorized butters?
I have used both.
