The diamond crossing is not called a double slip switch. Two track diamond crossings do not need double slip switches. Double slip switches are used for tracks crossing at an angle that need to also have a switch. At least that's how they worked in TpF1, and also how they work in real life. By making the crossing in the diamon crossover a double slip switch, you're allowing the train to start into the crossover then come back out the same side instead of only have the option to proceed to the other track.
I only came here looking for tips on how to build the 2nd cargo station, tutorial is bad at not explaining I could place the terminal over other buildings. I thought I was trying to deliver to the highlighted building. Glad I watched it all as I learned even more than I thought I would. Thanks for this!
What i really want to know about this game is can faster road vehicles overtake slower ones? In TF1 it was very annoying to have buses stuck behind trucks.
I've seen AI cars pass player trucks/buses.
But I haven't seen a player bus/truck pass another player bus/truck or AI car (yet?)
Hey Squirrel, my only issue with how you set up your signals is you like to put a signal right past a merge point. The only issue with that is if a train stops at the signal, then he's blocking that merge point for any passing train. ideally you should put signals only in front of a merge or crossing. That was a train stops before it and doesn't block that point.
You could have connected your train depot to the tracks on the far side and double slipped the near side tracks (assuming the angle isn't too acute) that way your trains could depart to/arrive from every possible direction.
you have pissed off the snake goddess by all of your construction projects, the only way to appease her is to build a major road through the jungle to bring her coffee!!!

I kind of wish the road types also had a year based advancement. The horse and buggies on nice new asphalt multi-lane roads with painted crosswalks and electric street lamps was bugging me a bit. Other than that though it looks very nice.

in the old game paul after you connect a road or track you can press M and N to change the height of the centre point of the section. you dont need to have a signal at the start of a double track it just auto clears behind the train. i dont know if 2 lines going to and from the same place will work cuz i tried that in the old game

Most of the mission u did not understand what you need to do, and in campaig usually in games u dont know what to expect next, what happened when it told you to delete the sign. Offering the problem as you discovered when you put another line at same station u need to choose the line after if not will take 2nd and you dont have anything there.
I think you might have misunderstood what the one-way signal does. It actually just forces trains to only pass the signal in one direction so trains coming the other way are not allowed to use the track protected by this signal. The normal signals don't force this so a train could pass it in the other direction but it would still not be stopped by the signal since it's the wrong direction. I've got more than 1000 hrs in TpF and I only use one-way signals if the game doesn't use the correct direction for a section of track.
I think in real life, signals are not working like the one-way signals in this game since tracks can be driven on in both directions. I've experienced that in case of construction on the line or trains blocking sections, that my train was diverted to the "oncoming" track to pass the blocked section.
I think one advantage of using one-way signals is that if you mess around with the track at a later date (i.e. deleting a bit of it) the AI won't just think "oh, that track's gone, in that case i'll use this perfectly fine other bit of track" and you end up with two trains head to head. Having said that, I almost exclusively use two-way signals and have never had any problem because i always make sure my route is using the tracks i want it to use from the beginning, and check it again after making any changes.
Why put train signals coming OUT of train stations? Wouldn't you want to keep the station clear and have the train stop ( if needed ) after the merger so that it's not blocking the other incoming train? Even though it's not gonna be that busy.

Great video, did not know about this game to begin with. Knowing me, I would get so lost trying to get things right on the first go, like me in Age of Empires and SIMS, among others, lol. This requires alot of time, and would it fly by fast once our enjoying it.

@@psampaiopt buthe needs to tell the line which terminals to use and one line can only use one terminal so signals wouldn't help
anonymous person that’s a good point. I assumed that if both platforms accepted the train it would then choose one of them, but you need to specify the platform when creating the line. Maybe they should have the “any” option?
@@psampaiopt an any option would be a good idea but if you have trains that close anyway then maybe you should just get rid of some to save running costs as your spacing is obvioulsy too close

yes, you can't delete a line when vehicles are running on it, so if the game allows you to delete a line, it shouldn't be an issue.

You mean the train stations having 2 lines already built in. Yeah why merge back to one? And also I don't get why he would put a signal coming OUT of the station, in which case it would be blocking another one from coming in. let the train come fully out of the station before having a signal.
I know everyone watching this will be pc gamers but man I really wish they'd have this game, and so many other transportation sims, on PS4.

I really want to be impressed but this really feels like Transport a Fever 1.1 ... so many of the problems with the first game haven’t been addressed and the only major change is modular stations. It’s more like a Cities Skylines DLC than a sequel. They also haven’t added any city building elements, I know the focus is on transport but the game always ends up feeling two dimensional once you have enough lines set up. It’s basically just watching things move at a certain point, and it lacks a lot of the creativity and freedom of more fleshed out games like C:S. Really disappointed from what I’ve seen so far, but maybe I’ll feel different once I get my hands on it.
