Bren's run defined what Rampage was, is, and should be.
It's a dirt hill. Why are you the authority and interpreter? It shouldn't be a contest at all IMO
Brendog just needed family at the bottom to complete an emotional storyline for ESPN in the US. Storylines mater.
Not the same ... but Olympia Bodybuilding went a similar direction and they had to break into separate categories when they farked up judging criteria over a few years that altered the path permanently.
Yup. Brens run was freeride than the other runs.
Brendogs run was one of those of those things you’ll remember for ever. That run defines what rampage should be!

This video was such a perfect explanation of what we all think. The train analogy perfectly explains what rampage should be. You shouldn't be sessioning your line.This whole video is what normal people rationalize rampage is. And brendog gets it and made it happen. Shame he didn't have the right friends to get the recognition it disserves. Also loved the inside on everyone else's run. Far more onsite than everything else that's been posted since the event.
It's the most freeride run imo. The others were more slopestyle imo
There was sooo much support for you blokes, you really show Englishmen at their best and people properly respect you for that. Well done chaps !

You fellas are just too pragmatic and diplomatic, more than the event deserves. Don't get me wrong it IS the ultimate mtb event and I will always be part of the audience and take nothing away from anyone involved or competing, however... this year's has been a bit askew to say the least.
Most of my enjoyment has come from watching your build ups. The belief in each other, the determination, the support and camaraderie is something to behold and admire. I really hope you are as proud of your efforts as we are. Glad you're all safe and hope you haven't lost any heart as a result of the positions/scoring. Everything you've done was worth it and thank you for taking us along. Absolute G's, each one of you.

I define Rampage as an event that people build the biggest and sickest lines and throw massive tricks on them. The frontie over the huge cannon gap is a great example of what the judges should be looking for. Brendog had the craziest line and threw big tricks, he deserves a podium for that. Cheers boys and Brendog you are a mad lad!

Bren, Ollie, and Deeks, I followed your complete journey through Rampage 2023 and it was just brilliant, all three of you should be proud of what you accomplished as a team. Brens run was just outstanding for its bravery, committment, consequences, and sheer balls of it all. You created and ran 2 features never run before, and may not be run again, even the lead in to the canyon was mental. You made the battleship look so simple.
I watched every rampage video all week and the judges should be ashamed of themselves, it was obvious they were not scoring freeriding at all. And now one if not more are posting videos justifiying their scoring which is absolute proof they know they fucked up and got the scoring wrong, hence the social media backlash.
You were the dogs. period.
honestly guys watching all your videos from the last two weeks has been awesome, you've done yourselves your country and your sponsors proud!! To see you all grind away for days building that trail with smiles on your faces the whole time has been so cool to see, nothing has got you down you've smashed through every adversity. We all know Bren deserved a better score, he had a truly freeride line rather than groomed bike park stuff but the rampage judging has been wafty for years so can't expect much. Regardless, all three of you did so well to make that line happen despite the naysayers and tippy tappers. These drivetime vlogs have been the best bit though, you three shooting the breeze and speaking the truth has been a total pleasure to watch and has made many of us almost feel like we were there with you. I always loved watching old school vids of the UK dh crew (peaty, pagey, warner etc) touring the World Cup scene and getting up to trouble, not since then have i has so much fun watching bike vids. There's nothing like brits abroad lol. Hope you all have a safe journey home and get plenty of rest, much love
How Bren didn’t podium I will never know and how you guys missed out on the best dig crew is also a mystery, but overall totally awesome to see you guys put together arguably the best rampage run ever and you can all be proud of what you accomplished 👍🏼
Thank you for taking us along boys and having the discipline to sit down and edit videos after a gruesome day of digging. It really made for a unique if not the best Rampage experience I've ever had. You'll forever be the winners of this event in my heart. Big up!
100% agree that it should stay as a big mountain freeride competition, because that’s how it started. You guys did an amazing job, and that run was sick! I was actually upset that the top of that run didn’t score higher. They literally stopped talking about your run after you finished and never got any more recognition for the 2 most gnarly features of the day. Stick with your plan, that was one of the most iconic runs and you deserve more than 4th place.
Brendan fairclough is why I watch rampage. Its as simple as that.
Proud of you lads. Well done. Forget the result, you went, you rode, you conquered and every person who witnessed it will have such respect for you all after being so magnanimous after being fucked over so badly.
Thank you all so much for all the videos, drivetimes, clips and coverage throughout the event - by far the best content in the lead up to the event and now this post-event wrap up. Really makes me appreciate the work and effort that went into your line and how gnarly everything was. Hope we see you guys back at Rampage again in the future!

I appreciate the three of y'all for including us in your adventure. I think y'all handled like true professionals. I've been a fan for years and this years rampage is the example of why.
rampage is defined as a big mountain free ride event. epic, crazy lines, high risk features, relative safety. and all those points to bren's run.

Big up to you three legends for putting in the graft of making that sick line and also for the extra work of bringing us along for the ride. I think the judging this year was much better than in previous years. Gutted godziek didn't make it down mainly because it would have been interesting to see how he was scored. That said ignoring the judging is the best way to enjoy rampage.

Wow, thanks! I needed this, you've put me out of my misery - it's been eating at me since the event what you guys were thinking about the results and the other riders. Great to hear the other side of the story, and inspiring to see what a bunch of mates can achieve. Love it!
Have been watching MTB since the NWD3 and Kranked 5 days, and Bren's run was unquestionably the most epic moment I've ever witnessed from any event or film. The fact that you three guys from the UK went out there and put the big names in the shade in the eyes of the whole world outside the judges booth - both in building and riding - absolute dreams, boys. Dreams.
The judges' follow-up statements/videos make me wonder why anyone would now go back unless they are going to be able to ride Zink's exact line? Sounds like they'd decided the winner before the runs even happened?
I'd pay good money to see how Godzi would have scored...
Well said boys, this is the perfect response and attitude to have - Bren has had so many iconic moments at Rampage, I wish he was rewarded for it, but it's no less rad just because the judges have a hard job - part of me thinks it just shouldn't be judged at all, but I don't know how that would work either - there's no right answer. Anyway, legends, all 3 of you.
Bren you was 100% robbed again! I was on the edge of my seat shouting at the TV. You always define what rampage is all about.
Brendan was a hero... Now after this contest with doubtful judging Brendan is a much much bigger hero, more like superhero.
Would love to have heard the three of you discuss this unfiltered right after the event. In the end, I agree with your take here - Rampage isn’t being judged like many of us believe it should be. Congrats all three of you, especially Bren. What a feeling driving out of there in one piece after laying down that run. Legend!

Strong work boys! As a spectator on tv... it's so hard to tell how intense Rampage truly is. But with that being said... Bren's line was still gnarly looking, and that says a lot! I'm in the camp of keeping it more on the true freeride style riding, and you definitely didn't disappoint!

You guys are sick! Absolutely amazing job in Utah. Bren would have won if I was a judge. It was so much fun to watch your vlogs, I was so excited to see Bren drop. I'm glad he made it to the bottom.

Thanks for a follow up show. I have enjoyed your truck cab podcasts. I also enjoyed your dig videos. It was a hell of a run you guys put together. The judges are not what Rampage is about. Your line will go down in history and the replays will go on forever. You probably don’t remember who won in 2010 but you remember the flat drop 360 or the canyon gaps that took place. Nobody cares about the placing just the feats that took place. You guys are my favorite knobs from over the pond. You might not have took the top spot of the podium but you have made new fans like me
I agree whole heartedly with the concept of brens run been stand out and The most memorable rampage run to date, but just do one existing big backflip drop and build a skate park at the bottom hey presto 😂😂😂
The respect you guys give to other riders and builders and other teams.. One in a million. Original Bad men ✊
The biggest problem is the starting order in my opinion. The judges talk to the riders, they know who has the gnarliest lines, and they know what is going to score high. They should keep that in mind when defining the starting order. I think if Brendon was up there as one of the last riders, his run would have scored better. But he was the first to put up a real benchmark and they scored him to low for it. In my opinion it was a 2nd place run. I was looking foreward so much to this line. I think it was one of the more creative and gnarliest lines out there. Good job lads!

I was fully invested in watching the event to see if Brendog would make that gap let alone suicide no hander it! You guys build the coolest lines and I hope you all return and don't care too much about the ranking/scoring system. You keep this event interesting and super entertaining. Cheers from Canada

Ive never seen anyone ride anything as gnarly and ridiculous as Brens line. I couldnt believe he didnt get at least a 90.
Just wanted to say THANKS SO MUCH for all the content from the last few weeks from the 3 of you. Even now I regularly go back and watch all the rampage vlogs from previous years and this will definitely be no acceptation. Such a legendary trio always making me and my dad laugh and your all such inspirations to me. Thanks so much for all the entertainment mad respect to you three ❤❤❤
I agree with what Bren said, it should be a freeride comp definitively, the winning line should be the most creative and gnarly, not Slopestyle jump and landing built out of 300 sandbags and glass smooth

Gutted for you not making the podium, maybe the podium should be 5 places like downhill. Automatic 10 point deduction for being English and wearing the wrong helmet is a bitter pill to swallow.
Brendog defines what a CZcams character and channel should be, laid back and relatable then either pulls off the funniest or knarliest stunt. Hats off to you 3 gentlemen.
Brendog had the best run at Rampage 2023 and got royally SCREWED by the lame ass judges…Bienve got screwed too…nothing else to say about that….100% agree with Bren as to what Rampage should be….and that’s what you lads did this year and that’s why he should have won and got screwed!!!

You’re right, Rampage need to take a long look at themselves, define the event and maybe an international judging panel going forward.
Maybe a flog on Friday night would have made an entertaining watch, but probably lost a few friends.

Brendogs line is the definition of freeride that day. Most of the other lines were like bloody Joyride slopestyle on a mountain, on the other hand Brendogs’ line has a mixbag of high risks, exposure, jumps and technical terrain . I seriously think UK n Europe should have their own series of freeride comps. To Brendog and team, congrats and Lets Fuckin Go!
Thank you for rationalizing the judging. A lot of us were bothered by how things played out, but hearing your perspective takes the sting out. I appreciate that you are keeping rampage what it was meant to be. also how fair is it to regurgitate a zone then expect people to be unique. that is what you did that was amazing, found something new in that zone.

Was genuinely excited for every one of your Rampage updates. While all the other rider runs were amazing; I only watched them once. I must have watched the video of the first time Bren jumped the canyon about 50 times, it is a spectacle in the same league as Evel Knievel !!!

There are plenty of slope style contests around so that Rampage can (and should) retain its own identity as a freeride contest, not an amalgamation of both. Loved watching you guys and I was genuinely terrified for Bren. The guy is wired wrong 🤣Awesome achievement that will be remembered by the community. Hope to see you at Roegate soon for high 5s.
Your lines have always been sick in the past but this time you outdid yourself. The judging is debateable but the fact that you built the sickest line into a hill full of already existing lines is so cool. There should be a "best line" award for you guys !
