Some things about moving:
1. I cry at least once
2. Divorce is threatened by somebody
3. The further I move, the more I get rid of
4. It just sucks physically
5. No matter how much or how well you plan, last minute scrambling will occur!
Awesome video!
I dont mean to be off topic but does anybody know of a method to get back into an instagram account..?
I somehow forgot the password. I appreciate any tips you can give me
@Chaim Wilder Instablaster =)
I'm 68. Since my husband and I got married 45 years ago, we have moved for his job 20 times. Since he retired, we have moved 3 times. Now we are planning to move near our daughter. I hate going through the moving process but once you get settled, it's becomes normal again.
My Mum is 80, she has just moved in with my Sister. Before that she had only lived in two houses! We had to sell my childhood home that Dad built (He died a couple of years ago 😥) Mum had been there for 55 years, the amount of stuff that had accumulated!!!!
Conversation between the Labradog and me every time it rains:
Dog:
Me: "It's raining, you never want to go out in the rain."
Dog:
Me: "okay, fine."
Dog: "I'm not going out in that."

It’s totally understandable to be so stressed but I know you’ll be just fine. Tears are good. Sending you strength and comfort from afar.
“Stuff just starts to break down”...ain’t it the truth! Hang in there!
You are SO hard on yourself. Things don't have to be perfect right away. You're doing great.
I've moved 20 times as an adult, and many more times than that as a child, and while i know what needs to be done it never gets and any easier. Just take it a day at a time, breathe, you got this.❤️
I have second hand stress for you. I know you loved your old place and put so much work into it, but I am glad you at least are back in an area you are familiar with and really love.
I appreciate you taking us along for the ride and I am looking forward to seeing all your of new systems and projects.
Glad you've landed and I so appreciate the realism of this video. Looking forward to seeing all the new systems.
“Eat my feelings!!” I get you. Don’t apologize for having a rant or two or three. Moving is stressful in any circumstance. Just let it flow out and move on. It’s helpful (to you and others) to show the real stuff that happens.
I’m feeling the stress also! We moved about two years ago when my husband was laid off and sold our house. 6 months later my daughter and grandson moved into our smaller house with us temporarily. Covid hit and needless to say we are still all together so we bought a new house and just renovated it and moved in, all four of us. So 3 moves in two years I’m over it. So we are now getting ready for a garage sale and get the other house ready to sell or rent. The mental exhaustion is real.
You put so much work into your current apartment. You are taking it very well. It is exciting however to have new energy so you don't become stuck. Can't wait to see your new decorating videos.
I sooo appreciated this because I just moved last week. Moving is exhausting and so stressful! I’m not happy things didn’t go as you wanted and you were stressed, but your being honest about it made me feel better about my own disorganization and stress! I also ran out of boxes (and time) and had to make a bunch of trips back and forth after my “move day.” And I ate McDonalds three times this week, gah! But honestly, no regrets on that front - it hit the spot, lol.
I absolutely loved this vlog, Kay! Moving is such a challenge at times, and I hope you take the time to settle in your new apartment! Thanks for keeping it real and sharing a bit of your life with us!! 🧡
omg the "guys and gals and non-binary pals" thank you I love it.
Kay: Are you excited Clover?!
Clover with cone: 👁👄👁
Kay: ...mmkay
😂😂this exchange made me laugh so hard
I loved watching this and the honesty you showed us, you got through this and the house will be fully set up in no time! 💗✨💛
😂😂😂😂😂
Once you get one closet elfa-fixed there is no stopping it. You do them all. I love that I can make my closet new again when I get bored with it or my lifestyle changes.
I remember the day the movers were at our house for a cross-country move and I completely decompensated and my husband found me on the floor in our daughters bedroom just staring at the ceiling.
I feel for you. I DESPISE packing, moving, unpacking, and all that comes with all of that. All will be well, though, when you get the new place organized to your liking. After all, it's what you do and you're so good at it. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Bless you! Moving is such a pain, I hate it, lol. Take time for yourself before you get even more overwhelmed :)
Moving is a Top 5 stressor. Take care of yourself. ❤️
Your pup is adorable.
I feel you and so am sending you a BIG hug. I am sure that your husband is super grateful for you and the responsibility you have had to take on re. the move. Hopefully, when things settle he will be able to show his gratitude by taking you for a lovely meal or a weekend break somewhere nice. Or even getting you a spa break for you alone. You certainly deserve it after the stresses you are having. Please give yourself a LOT of credit for how much you have done solo - and hopefully, rather than grouch about still having to return to your old home, your husband will realise that, being that you were doing this mostly singly, you have done amazingly well. Hope you can find, and hold onto, your positivity. Keep telling yourself that the hardest part is over - although it may not feel like it yet - and that it will get easier. Take care.
You'll get there, Kay, try not to stress too much. I know this pandemic has definitely lowered my threshold for being able to manage stress. Even a trip to Costco is overwhelming for me lately, so i can't imagine moving right now!!
Its refreshing to see someone being honest about anxiety, thank you.
I get anxious whenever I leave the house now
It kills me that there always has to be those sad little people who are so miserable with their lives, that they have the need to put a thumbs down on someone’s CZcams video. 🙄
Every party needs a pooper! 😂 CZcams’s AI also doesn’t know the difference between likes and dislikes anyway it just knows that the video moved them enough to make the viewer do something so it’s all good anyway 🥰
Yeah moves sure keep us honest with possessions! Hang in there we are cheering you on from Canada🇨🇦
Thank you for showing us your authentic life situation during a pandemic move! Oh how I wanted to just come by and help unpack, and give you a hug! Out of chaos, hope! You will get it done, and we will love seeing how you have put this new life all together... give yourself some rest.
I know moving totally sucks, but tbh I'm kind of excited to watch you set up another new place! Sorry! 😳
Me too! Lol. Its exciting for me!
I have never moved locally. I have frown out of town twice and driven out 3 times. The best thing is paying for the unpack if you can afford it. It is amazing how obvious things are to find. I have 4 kids who were little for most of those moves. One I had a new baby. One of the removalists had brought his partner for the ride. She looked after my baby and helped me check in the boxes and items as they came in the door. She gave my daughter a bath and I was grateful. I have learned to merge my linen and my kitchen to reduce the amount of paper wrapping and the sheer number of boxes.
I don't take things out of drawers. I drop ornaments on drawers down into the drawers. I
Cover's expressions, especially with cone on, are so cute. I feel your stress because eventually I will have to do the same. Hang in there!
Feel you! I'm moving within a month so I'm super happy to get information from other people experiences. It must suck so bad to have to buy moving boxes, in here most people just rent plastic moving boxes from moving companies so you don't have to deal with getting and keeping them.
I read an article last year that stated, moving is the #1 most stressful life event. #2 is divorce and #3 is getting married.
Moving is definitely stressful. Just do the best you can, with tea or coffee breaks as needed.
I always say, you never really realize how much stuff you have until you have to pack it up and move it. We've all been there.
Girl, your hair is so pretty 🙂
Yes it is!!!
Thank you 🥰
Your puppy is so darn cute! I just moved 2 weeks ago and it was a mess. It took an entire week to get out of my old place. I made 3 uhaul trips and at least 10 more trips back and forth in my car. Each trip was about 1 1/2 hours each way because I was moving to a different state.. I have been unpacking for a week and I am still unpacking! Plus I had to get a storage unit because I couldn't fit all my stuff in my new place. We are in an apartment until we can find a house to buy, which is why I had to put some things in storage. Not fun at all!!
Your stress was not for nothing: moving IS stressful, and, believe it or not, your candor & vulnerability reassured me that my current moving stress is par for the course...thank you 😉
And, today was my moving day! I'm nursing a strained back, but we made progress! More to do tomorrow 😂
Thanks for keeping it real! You have shown us what it’s like when you move, not what we see on TV. It takes time to become acquainted with a new living space.
Congratulations on having most of your items at your new place! Moving is always stressful, so you are not alone. I moved once a year for 10 years and most recently have been in my space for 8 years. I have to shift the furniture around every so often to keep it fun. We plan on moving next year and I am looking forward to the opportunity of setting everything up again. It can be nice to refine how you work with things, when the whole space is fresh. I am so glad that the living room space is set up for you guys to be able to relax after such a journey! I am looking forward to seeing how you set up the new space! Also, go Girl Gamers! W00t!
Tfs!!! So realistic I dont know how ppl have the energy to get moved & settled in so fast. I be stressed. Take it easy and just do what u can when u can. Dont wanna get hurt & set urself back. But u got this!!
After 45 years in the same house, I sold it after my husband died, then had to get out there really fast - all on my own! I have pins in my back, so sitting and packing on my own, for hours and days on end, deciding what to keep and what to sell or donate, all while still having my studio run full time.....no, I have no idea how I got through it. Then 2 and half years later, I finally got a flat in this retirement village, and had to downsize yet again, on my own. The pins in my back are now bent!!! Need to find a way to flex them backward so I can stand up straight.... omigoodness!
I just went through a big move just after the loss of my mother and I can understand your anxiety and stress. Feel free to blog, do live videos if your followers can be of any help! It's a tough time all around. Take deep breaths and it will pass!
Huge hugs to all three of you with all the upheaval. I'm blown away by your stamina and determination and was so glad you vented in the car because moving just knocks us for six, you did a tonne of work and that stress needs to escape :-) Looking forward to your organisation skills being tested with the new space, I know it will turn out fab :-)
I feel you on the stress of moving and discovering you have too much stuff. We just moved from IL to AZ after living in the same house for 20 years. 😱
Haven't moved in over 25 years and I am in the process of decluttering now. 2020 was a no spend year and the beginning of the declutter process. It's been refreshing emptying drawers and closets and blessing others with our stuff. We live in Florida so all thrift stores and goodwills are open. I am thankful to go grocery shopping in person and no double masking here. Amazing how different things are depending on what State you live in regarding Covid.
Thinking of you as you move and as you adjust to your new freedoms❤️
Sending thoughts of peace and organization your way. We just relocated 75% of our stuff to our vacation/retirement condo, and it was pretty stressful for a couple of weeks, but the projects have dwindled to only a few, so we’re almost back to normal. I can only imagine the additional stress of vlogging and streaming during the chaos. Lots of Love, Kay. :)
I love Clover's rain jacket and shoes; so adorable! It looks chaotic to you because you are use to being so organized, but it actually looks better than most (from past family military moves). TFS!
Change your perception about moving. I hear you saying you are anxious, stressed & hungry. Plan your meals & eat regularly. Set up where you can make drinks & store & prepare food. Set up somewhere to sleep & wash. Basic needs first. Pack a mini wardrobe to last 2-3 weeks. Leave the rest until later. Box of toiletries. Box of cleaning products. Box for your dogs needs. Set up feeding station for him. Box of tools. Your husband set up the techy stuff. Breathe. Play ball. Go for a walk. Listen to music. Every day. When I moved I did an inventory of all the numbered boxes. I could look through a notebook to find stuff. I put coloured stickers on all my boxes to show where each box belonged & stacked them close to or inside the room they belonged in. I didn’t have to rummage through loads of other boxes to find what I needed. Change your vocabulary to new, fresh, exciting, long awaited, looked forward to, well deserved. Better home in an area you want to be in. Home! The anxiety will melt away.
Happy new home to you Kay! I hope you’re able to sit back relax and enjoy the fruits of all your hard work soon!
just want to say that seeing your “chaos” as you call it comforts me so much. I have adhd and I STRUGGLE with any changes. Right now I have two rooms in my house in various states of repair/reno/redecorating and I feel like I’m living in a disorganized hell. I’m glad to know that im not alone having a few messes when everything is changing fast. Thanks for sharing and I hope you get to relax soon!
You are an AMAZING woman! Never forget that. I was just mentally going over what the last year and a half has been like for you and I am truly in awe of your stamina, determination and lightness of heart. Having just a 'few' meltdowns through all of this is amazing. I don't think i would have managed to get through even half of this and still be a bearable human being. By the time we're seeing this I'm hoping that you've gotten closer to creating a beautiful space for yourself that allows you to just enjoy being back in your old stomping grounds again and you're done with being fully moved. Settling in always takes time so don't rush. The important thing is taking it easy on yourself while you do. You're an inspiration and I truly hope that your husband understands how incredibly lucky he is to have you. 💗💗💗
Oh my, the plaintive cry of "Chaos." I think we've all been there. Thanks for sharing
Woman! ... hire the movers, order a good movie, get a bottle of wine, put up the stuff the movers bring in and call it a day. Next day ... sleep in, take Clover to the dog park .... then move on. It's not worth the stress.
Gurrlll !!!!! You preached a word! !!! I would have just move the office because the equipment is expensive. Dassit. Movers would have done everything else. It's been 3 yrs and I still have 4 unopened boxes.
Honey life is short. You want to be perfect. Do only so much a day. It will all get done eventually. Nothing is worth that much stress. Th
The reader suggesting a movie, relaxation and some wine has it right.
❤️ moving is always chaos. especially unexpected moving. the new place looks great and you'll make it look fabulous! congrats on the new home!
No matter how we plan, moving always throws us a curve. ( our daughter once got sick while we were PCSing!) I look to seeing your progress. Prayers for the sale of your condo.
Oh Kay...I didn't know this. I'm sorry. We have moved our daughter twice during the pandemic and we are exhausted.
I feel you, moving is stressful for sure! The clutter can be so overwhelming, one box at a time, you’ll get through it. Think about how satisfying it will be when you have everything settled. Can’t wait to see the finished product! ❤️🐶
I just moved into my new place and I feel you on the stress of moving. I had planned for mine to be super organized and stress free but it ended up not going so smoothly and taking a whole week too. We had hired movers and in one hour they moved a couch, dresser, and coffee table into the moving van. So we basically had to cut the job short and book new movers for the next day 💀
Kay: CHAOS!
Me: oh..a completely normal move...
I really enjoyed this video and I love your candid honesty. We’re all human! I’m so excited for your new beginning and for future videos of you making this new space your home.
I'm so glad y'all got moved even with all the bumps. Y'all survived it! Clover looks like he's adjusting well. I know you'll get it all done one thing at a time. Thank you for sharing the real-ness of it all. Blessings to y'all in your new home!
Clover loves you so much when he looks at you! You are a great dog mom!
This gives me PTSD from our last move. It was only apartment to apartment in the same complex, but we only had two days to do it, no movers, and my boyfriend couldn’t get off work to help all day. Adding cleaning the old apartment in was super stressful.
Clover is the sweetest little pup! I love when you show him in your videos.
The new place is very nice. You have accomplished so much already. Hang in there. 😊
Clover’s face when he had the rain jacket on (11:04) had me dying. Too cute and funny 😆
HAPPY YOU STILL HAVE A ROOF OVER YOUR HEAD BECAUSE MILLIONS AREN’T SO FORTUNATE AT THE MOMENT. I’M OK FOR THIS YEAR, JUST HOPE I HAVE A ROOF OVER MY HEAD NEXT YEAR. ANYWAY, CONGRATS AND GOOD DAY.
Amen!
Moving is incredibly stressful. Not to mention the current state of the world. Any breakdown is expected. Hopefully you’re doing better.
I so feel you. My husband and I are currently moving into an apartment that will a temporary home for 4 months and then we will have to move again b/c we sold our house and where we are moving is not ready... today we moved 6 car loads and more to come 😟 trying to stay upbeat, but man I’m tired lol. Thank you for vlogging your move it makes me feel not alone! 🤗
The apt. Looks amazing ....moving is always stressful but i know u r going to be super happy there ( hello from Canada)
Think of it as another way to help us out with organization, a new space!
Clover in the raincoat 🥰🥰
My last house (my first house), was perfectly organized and this house is 500 square feet smaller and I’m just starting to organize it- 10 years after living here. I have purged so much stuff! And still have a ton of stuff I want to eliminate. Hang in there! The worst of it is behind you and now you can look forward to doing what you’re good at. Take care!
I feel so bad for you, and clover. I think he can sense your stress. You are such a good mom. 💕💕💕 and he doesn’t know what is going on. Especially With boxes everywhere. I think you will feel better once your kitchen is done. Keep up the good work, it will be less stressful when things get more organized. Can’t wait to see the end result.💕💕💕💕Big hugs to you and clover.💕
Things are coming together. It’s going to look great. Clover is the cutest, it looks like he’s settling in well. Hang in there, you’re doing great! 🙂
Kay, Clover is not feeling it. He looked like, "seriously?" I am so sorry you are having to move but maybe it will be just what you just have been needing. I always enjoy your videos. And yes...move again so soon...you've got to be overwhelmed. Just breathe and take your time.
I am sorry you are stressed. Your videos helped me so much when we moved in December, but due to cold and snow, I have so much to give away or throw away.. i hope you are settling and feeling more at home! You have such great enthusiasm for everything you do.
Sending you a lot of energy from Germany 🌹🌹🌹
I HAVE CRIED A FEW TIMES DURING MY MOVE NOW... We have TOO much stuff and trying to get rid of it!!! Ahh
Hugs, hugs, hugs. Moving is never easy! I’m glad you’re finally in your new place. Keep smiling sweet lady! Loved the vlog and loved little Clover’s mad faces lol xx
You're a good dog mama to Clover, I feel you! Throw that ball, haha.
So if you're ever in the Ann Arbor area and need a pal/driver give me a call! My recent trip to ikea felt like a resort getaway after confinement, so refreshing to see all the color.
Clover's face in the beginning of the video is priceless lol he's so cute!
We are planning to sell our hone this summer and buy a new one. I have also slowly started to pack things up. Finish little products. It’s overwhelming to think about. Exciting but overwhelming. Love your videos.🙌❤️
Moving can be so stressful. Thanks for vlogging even during this stressful time. I hope you get settled soon. I can't wait to see all your container store organization. Always an inspiration for me to do better with organizing and decluttering.
Moving is THE WORST. So glad you're on the other end of the most stressful part of boxing up and shuffling to the new place!💙
Clover standing behind you waiting for you to throw the ball 😆
I totally feel you about being emotional over leaving Clover home. I get bad anxiety leaving my dog too.
Sending virtual hugs your way! My mom and I spent almost three years renovating our apartment, room by room, so it was like moving constantly the ENTIRE TIME, and we still have one room that is not fully unpacked, so I feel your pain!
I am too distracted by cute clover to listen!! We’ve moved 13 times in 12 years, including 4 international relocations. We just arrived in Perth AU in January. It’s stressful but kind of fun if you keep the adventure in mind. 😘😘
I have to move soon, feelin the anxiety pain
You have the most important possession, Clover. All else will be okay. ♥️♥️
My dog does the air humping as well 😑 He’s an anxious and hyper boy. He already had separation anxiety pre-pandemic and now it’s even worse. Whenever i’m gone for a bit ( store, picking up my kid, etc) he acts like I’ve abandoned him.
Also, I love all your videos, even this one. I feel you on the “not as young” deal. I just turned 38 and advil is my new bff because of lower back pain.
I hope all it going well and you’re being kind to yourself
It is definitely stressful moving! We’re doing the same and it is a lot.
A LOT! Sending a hug!!! (Miss you!)
Clover is picking up your energy (stress) & that's why he's regressing. Everything will be ok. You don't have a timeline. Realtors push for a quick move for a quick sale to get their commision. Relax, STOP & BREATHE.
Watch Cesar the Dog Whisperer.
Sorry for all the stress you experienced and thankfully it will pass. I am one of those rare people who enjoy moving. I think it is because of how honest you have to be about your possessions. Our last two moves have been in a 5X8 UHaul trailer plus the suitcases I fly across the country with when I go ahead of my hubby to start at my job. Next move is coming soon - another cross country move 3rd in 4 years.
Go ahead and rant girl we gotcha
That look on the dogs face with the cone🤣🤣🤣🤣
We just sold our home in Connecticut and facing moving after 14 years here. We have way to much stuff and have spent all winter decluttering, but have so much more to do! Our closing date is June 21, so luckily we have some time. So, I am SO stressed and know exactly how you feel.
I’ve moved 23 times in my adult life and the way my husband has been talking lately...he’s been really unhappy living here...he’s from this town & lived here all his life except going to college...we’ve been together 9 yrs and married for almost 5....im pretty sure we won’t move, but; never say never...
I just found your channel, and have been enjoying some of your previous videos. Moving is stressful! It would’ve been nice to see some of your decluttering that you talked about, maybe see you hang up your curtains and put your Elfa together. It might be interesting for us to watch you do the packing and the setting up. It’s nice to hear you talking about these things, but seeing them would be fun too!
Moving can be a very stressful experience; I kept catching myself trying to tell you to just take a deep breath. I think Clover was picking up on your anxiety and trying to reassure you with all of the ball playing.
I'm hoping you are feeling more 'at home' by now. Soon you will have everything in its place and then you can truly relax and get back to 'normal'.
I love Clover so much ♡
Hope you & hubby are feeling better . Today is 3/18. be encouraged. Encourage Yourself a song by Donald Lawrence and the Tri-City singers.
