Breaking in a new pair of jeans can be a pain. But Carlos is going to show you how to distress your denim in a quick and easy fashion.
Put on your jeans and make a few pencil marks where you want to distress them. Now take them off and grab your tools: a knife, a plastic cutting board, and some sandpaper. Slip the cutting board down the leg and under your pencil mark. Use your knife to make a few cuts through the jean. Then use the edge of the knife to make a scraping motion over the cuts to start the distressing process. Take your sandpaper and run it over the cut area to ramp up the distressing of the denim. - Jak na to + styl
Why not save time and just trip while running down a gravel road?
just the thought of it hurts me
I know im like 4 years late and all that but i love your tatoos🤣
I’m 4 years late to😂

Ayoo count me in✋😂
yeah me to 😂😂
This is exactly how I made them when I was a teenager. I’m glad to see I’m not the only one that uses this technique. Also used my dad’s bench grinder
Why so much hate ?
He's actually saving people tons of money , take an old pair of jeans and spice em up a bit. Rather than buying a new pair altogether.
Yes indeed!
yes
@SIMONE PERETTI it's a trend boomer

I can't tell if It's worth trying on my jeans. But it was very satisfying to watch.
I had a little motorcycle accident and that distressed my denim better than this! 😂
S. M. Rakib lol😂😂😂
In all seriousness, that would probably look better because it's more natural and isn't forced
S. M. Rakib 😂😂😂
Same here 😂
Mine Is a skateboarding accident downhilled so fast and lost control and I went sliding on the hill
I did this back in the late 80’s. Everything comes back around
It was really helpful. Thanks!👍
Thanks so much for sharing your method. I will give this a try next week. 😊
Thumbs up ... appreciate your simplistic distressing method using just a knife.
great video......your technique looks very original......i enjoyed a looooot
Carlos can pull off any style, Great Video !
Nice work bro.
This is like seriously the best method
Super and simple thanks!
I love this tutorial all the way from India 🇮🇳🇮🇳

How to distress denim: work hard in them
Psht, don't tell any secrets from the real mens world or they might come up with some new ways to hype up a trend and make me buy the same stuff i always bought but now for triple the price.
Habeas J I like it
+Habeas J Or wear them every day.
The really funny part for me is seeing the expensive jeans with the laser burns on the thighs.
When we drafted a wood fire with newspaper and it caught alight, we always rubbed it against our jeans to put it out without burning our hands.
Early distressed jeans were obtained from charity shops and I can only assume that manufacturers now have to use lasers costing a fortune to reproduce the burn effect, when instead they could simply use some burning paper and employ a few workers with calloused hands to rub it out against the denim.
Habeas J
I'm blue collar and damn near all my jeans and work pants end up looking like this after a few months. Seems kind of lame to buy a new pair of pants and do this to them. But I guess it's the "metro urban" thing to do. Has me shrugging though... Been a fan of the beard stuff for years and beardbrand even inspired me to start making my own beard oil and balm. For that I'm thankful. Beard On guys!
Yeah man, this process is really just meant for if you want to break your jeans in way faster!
-Zach
So why did you watch the video?
You’re not better than anybody bc your jeans got messed up at work. Fashion is what it is and I promise they aren’t trying to look like you bro.

Wow it is a great idea here 😍❤️
This was so satisfying😭😭
Alien Love I had the opposite feelings watching it. 😢
They were a perfectly good pair of jeans!!
If you are super hipster you could go to a ropa usada (used clothing warehouse) and buy some genuine distressed jeans for 0.25¢ per pound.
Amazing amazing bro..... I like it ..... & i'll try

Hardest work he has ever done.
I enjoyed this video, but I can see where the hate is coming from. i think it has to do with your merging of the Beardbrand and Urban Beardsman channels. A lot of people come to this channel just for beard and beard product tips. Maybe the occasional hair tutorial. But the more fashion/metro content of Urban Beardsman probably doesn't resonate a lot with a number of viewers who were exclusively on this channel. I enjoy both types of content, so for me personally, the merging of the channels was perfect. Especially since there are really only so many videos you can make about beard care and maintenance before you start repeating yourself.
You guys need to find a way to balance the material of both channels in a coherent fashion whether that's by injecting more personality into these types of tutorial videos or maybe just by shaking things up a bit and sometimes leaving the blue room and heading outside into the city (this is about urban culture, after all) to give the vids a more organic feel that's less stale and safe. Maybe throw some rad music on top. These are just some random thoughts. It's easier said than done, I know. But I'm confident you guys will find a way.
megagene Thanks man. Always appreciated your witty comments as well as your level headed ones. I agree that getting out of the studio is a good idea. We've seen success with our barbershop series after all.
A key for us is about balancing how we can produce the amount of videos we want to all while running a business.
Our goal is to build up a nice queue (one or two months) of videos which will give us time to produce more time intensive projects. it's definitely a priority for us and we will get there. Thanks again for your support!

All your videos are awesome! Great work!
Great video
How many of u click this video by seeing true love n pure soul in his fingers....????
What I do is that I open a soda can, and that lil flap of metal that you push in, I pull it out to have that sharp corner then just rub the denim with that. It's a lot easier and more manageable
does it really work?
@@danitapia3410 totally, I've been distressing my jeans for years that way
Good job
Came here after watching a feminine version of the DIY old ripped jeans tutorial. Good to see various methods before I try with the one that best suits me!
Thanks for the upload. Appreciate it!
Shit like this is why the general public thinks anyone with a beard is a hipster. You guys are better than this.
what knife are you using? I'm a collector and I love the scales on it!
I enjoyed this
Damn started to get relaxed on some ASMR type shit.
I can’t be the only one confused on how for hundreds of years people strived for shoes and pants free of holes to not freeze in the winter, but here we are in 2018 purposefully ruining a good pair of jeans.

People are more spoiled nowadays and don't cherish things
Blame it on boomers and gen x's, not us millennials. They are the ones who created this style in the 70's and 80's.
There is a very cheap and effortless way to distress your jeans: Just wear them often.
I like it... I will try it..
I really like your tattoos -- thanks for the video!
My grandparents would laugh at this.
.
Why? They most likely wore clothes that everyone else was wearing. Nobody back then really wore anything different. Wouldn't you laugh at their clothing trends?

I distress my denim by wearing my jeans. That shit happens naturally if you're patient!
True! But if you get impatient this is your best option to hurry things along!
-Zach
😒😒😒
Just like growing a beard
G C
Millennials patient..??????
Ha ha ha
How do you get this naturally. Do you crawl all the time, do you sit on sandpaper or do you fall very often? Cause I have many pairs of jeans for years and they've only faded a bit, nothing else.
"Hey guys, I cut holes in my jean, look how cool and edgy I am!"
"Hey guys, I make anonymous comments on CZcams, look how cool and edgy I am!"
We are certainly open to feedback and constructive criticism, however your comment does nothing to help us out. We aren't trying to be cool or edgy - we are simply sharing a tutorial of how to distress denim if that's a look you go for. If you think torn jeans look cool, then cool. If you think non-distressed jeans look cool, that's also rad.
You don't need to qualify yourself, I was just joking around a bit. I love your channel, keep up the good work!
So when's the mens romper video coming out? 😂
Thank you
Very good brother we will definitely see
Uhh wanna buy my old work pants lmao..ill give you a great deal!!
nice, you just ruuined the perfectly fine pair of pants xD
Nice trick bro🤘🏽👍

Or alternatively you can get the exact same effect by doing a good days manual work then you wont have to pretend you do manual work and you get the added bonus of feeling good about it.......
ANYONE FROM 2019 😂🥀
Thank you sir
i used to do this 7 years ago when i was 16 ;)
Easier way to distress them.. Wear them.... Yes?
I've worn my jeans for 2 straight years without a tear in the knees. Some people don't want to wait 5 years to get that look.
Mr. SDReptiles here apparently walks around dragging his knees all day. Presumably like a reptile.

I did it bro it's awesome
why are there so many people in the comments that are angry about this video? if you don't like the video but still enjoy the channel and the content they make, the don't watch this one video... it's that simple. maybe some viewers gained something from this even though you didn't. anyways being stylish is interpreted in many different ways; it's all subjective. i don't necessarily like the look of a large beard, kept or unkept, but that's my opinion and i don't bash others for disagreeing with me. i also didn't mind the look of distressing, but again, my opinion. some of y'all need to really calm down.
For guys who don't work and want to convince chicks they're hard.
Hyped Child Shut up you’re probably a Liberal.
You both hillbillys
You can also use the denim you scraped off as fire tinder in an emergency

Thanks 💯
Haha everyone is so mad. Distressed jeans are in style. We live in the first world, not the wild west. People don't tend to get knee rips just by wearing them
It's stupid and idiotic wht would you buy then rip perfectly good pants when they already sell pants with holes in them
It’s called hard work son
briarbehr Work hard to look like a bum. Brilliant...
Hiiii
@Big E in the UP lol
Not that I agree with them, but lately a lot of comments have been basically saying your (beard brand's) videos have been a bit unnecessary. Listen to your subscribers and your fans guys! If your market is essentially telling you "hey we don't like this", then maybe it's time to change things up for the better and get a little more creative. Personally, I feel the time of this little blue room and a poster is over. You guys need to innovate just a little harder to make sure bead brand doesn't die out (i say all of this a fan and longtime sub!!!)
We love listening to our subscribers and take comments very seriously. That being said there are thousands of viewers who don't comment, like or dislike videos and they are also important. We look into our analytics to see what videos provide the most value, and what videos will help the channel and community grow.
Since we started implementing changes (more videos of broad topics) we've seen the channel grow at a rate faster than ever before. We are now adding over 10,000 subscribers per month, and more than million views per month.
This happens because we challenge not only ourselves, but also the comfort of our community. Not everyone will appreciate the changes we are making, and we understand that. But we aren't going to stay back, settle, and keep things stagnant to die off like some other channels. We are committed to the community and channel and will always push things forward.
Ok, read what you just wrote. There are thousands of people who deem your videos not likable, they are essentially just "meh" videos. They don't do anything for the viewer. Also, of coarse your sub and viewer rates are going to go up, you are expanding your topics to things that you have no business expanding too! You will attract non-beardsman to a beardsman's channel. if that's what you want, then simply change the channel and it's whole aesthetic! What i'm trying to say is: stop trying to be something you're not! Also rip that shark tank episode haha
is it good to make your loose or straight fit jeans to a distressed denim shorts?
