    I saw these on a local FB group. I'd been looking at the Nukeproof ARD's, mainly because of the price. These guys are local so I thought I'd give them a shot. They hooked me up with a mullet set first. No joke, I changed the rear tire because it had a rip in it and the entire process took me less than 10 minutes. That was from on the bike to back on the bike ready to ride. The front install took me 6 minutes. Taking the wheel off, letting the air out, blah blah blah. 6 minutes. I don't have any other knowledge on these types of products, this is the first I have used, but I was so impressed I bought sets for both of my other bikes. Hopefully I'll get some decent footage tomorrow to help showcase these things.
    Nice job on the review!

    Great vid. How are they holding up? How do they handle turns, berms, not burping, tradition in cornering? Do you think they give you any good damping? My wrists hurt, but after using my friend bike with Cushcore, not so much. But Cushcore is so expensive. Thanks!

    • @WattOnWheels
      @WattOnWheels  Před 3 lety +1

      Due to the foam taking up space within the tire they felt best to me when I kept the pressure up where I normally run it. All tubeless and insert claim ability to run low pressure but that always feels like junk to me. The have a definite damping feeling. It is very nice. Cornering feels spot on as long as your pressure is right.
      For the video I used a light sidewall tire and 2 weeks after finishing this video plowed a rock garden that sliced the tire right on down the middle. Best part was I had zero rim damage and was still able to slowly pedal back. So far the are the best bang for the buck insert I have used.

    • @dancing8595
      @dancing8595 Před 3 lety +1

      Watt On Wheels Great. Thanks for the quick reply. Do you think they helped the cornering, or just the same without the insert?

    • @WattOnWheels
      @WattOnWheels  Před 3 lety +1

      @@dancing8595 the design of the Mynesweeper does not put direct pressure on the sidewall like the cush core does. I do not really think I felt any noticable difference strictly in cornering.

    • @dancing8595
      @dancing8595 Před 3 lety

      Watt On Wheels Ok. Do you know if putting direct pressure on the side walls helps in that aspect?

    • @WattOnWheels
      @WattOnWheels  Před 3 lety +1

      I'm sure it helps with the tire rolling at either low pressures or shralping a berm,. But if quality technique is used it probably doesn't add much if anything.

    I've also watch your other video on the Tannis Tire Insert with the tubes. Out of these two setups, which do you prefer or feel is the best - Tannis (Inserts with tubes) or Mynesweepers? I feel that the Tannis insert with the tube is way too heavy as it can add 300g on the rear tire alone! 160g added to the rear wheel (insert and sealant) seems like a pretty good solution for tubeless setup. Also, Mynesweepers seem to supply setups for 26" wheels (ohm yes 26" wheels is still alive and kicking) while other companies, such as SmooshSmores had ditched the 26" version of their inserts.

    • @WattOnWheels
      @WattOnWheels  Před rokem

      The Mynesweepers are going to be they way to go if you want it to feel like a regular tire. Keep in mind that since I made the original Tannus video they have now come out with their own tubeless insert that may work well for you. I haven't tested them yet but they look fairly simple as far as install goes.

    • @aliquisignotus9790
      @aliquisignotus9790 Před rokem +1

      @@WattOnWheels I looked at the Tannus Tire Tubeless Insert as well and they're half the weight of the Cushcore (Smooshsmore). However, I'm still going strong with 26" wheels and the new Tannus tubeless setup does not have any inserts for that wheel size. I've asked Tannus about supplying the 26" version and the reply is that they might (I'm not holding my breath on it). I did get the Tannus tube insert after getting so many flats but I decided to run tubeless since I had the wheels and tires set up on my new wheelset as such from March. I've got no inserts in them currently and hoping not to ding the rims with proper air pressure. I'll likely go with the Mynesweepers for their light weight. Tires these days weigh over 1kg, which is double what they used to be. I'm running a heavy case rear tire that's about 1100g and I can definitely feel it on climbs. Imagine adding another 200-300 grams of unsprung weight in the back? It's fine if you're doing all shuttle rides for DH. But I do XC and Enduro. The weight just kills you over several hours of riding, especially if there's a lot of steep, long climbs.
