The GS changes had nothing to do with versatility. Previously, if you got hit by nlight (the move GS uses to read), the only unjumpable string GS had ended in nlight. The issue was that if you spammed jump anyways the finisher would send at a near perfect 45° angle, and massively reduce it's kill power (people would survive at the ledge at 160, it was that bad). This change means jumping out of a string won't just let you survive anything. In fact, jumping out of nlight means you get killed EARLIER since you put yourself closer to the top blast zone. This actually makes the slight finisher a more viable option: because jumping could make you get killed earlier by nlight, you may try to not jump, in which case the GS player goes for slight and you just explode. In other words: greatsword is fixed now.
Dlight Dair into Recovery on Sword always has been true, you just gotta jump after Dair (170~190 damage if I remember correctly (it depends on Defense), and the buff made it so you can hit it more consistently now. Also, you are now able to hit grounded Dair into Nlight true on Sword again. To do the 3 piece on Sword you gotta delay your Dair by, what feels like 1 frame, so you hit it with the inner part of the hitbox, punishing in a more vertical angle, allowing you to be able to hit jump Recovery true after Dlight Dair. For the other combo, you must land Dair with the outer hitbox to be able to combo into Nlight. I just experimented a bit so far, but it looks like you gotta hit it late. Dash-jump fast fall into Dair seems the most reliable to hit the combo consistently. Yes, you can do it without any dash as well, but that's impractical trying to hit in a real match.

just because of magyar's slow speed you should not ditch using dlight, it leads to 30 damage on every true combo you get and it's a really fast recovering attack, so you're still at relative low risk at throwing it out. if you are certain it will punish someone's move that just whiffed in front you and they're grounded, always use that
1:20 casually make some small combo Boomie: that combo does a lot of damage Me: never underestimate dex and also that's just a fraction of how damaging 9 dex Cassidy can do with hammer and blasters (context with hammer i can put my opponents from white 0% to orange 76%) Edit: also thatch and Cassidy who you guys are wondering their playstyle thatch is the most agressive zoners in the game Excells at zoning out in the mid range and also doing long combos and strings and Cassidy is a grounded agressive rushdown character who Excells at getting in and putting your opponent at red in 1 minute

i play almost every guantlet legend and i was about to spend over 12k glory on the weapon, its always been my favorite i didnt know why they touched it.
nai is screwed lol. also, worth mentioning that the spear nair circle is slightly offset. turn on hurtboxes to see. the patch notes mention that directionality is now more required to be intentional. but obviously this has momentum effects as well.

im kind of new to the game, but for people complaining too much... the game is never perfect because its interesting to add and change stuff, it makes the game new and interesing often, thast why its getting big since its release, those developes never stop with new ideas. We already can watch pro and not so pro battles with all legends, if the player is good he will possibly win the majority of the time regardless of weapon etc. I play only for 5 months and i already hooked by all those many stuffs that the game offers.

their buffing hammer for the playstyle i used before it was gutted, like using the other options more than stomp, which i like alot.
i almost never stomp, not with Magyar at least bacause he is a slow legend, only for knockout option + side air when the oponent is red.
