  • Ridge Racer Hi-Spec Demo (Also known as Ridge Racer Turbo Demo in USA) is a bonus disc which came with the original Ridge Racer Type 4 release. As for the demo itself, it is pretty much graphically improved version of the original Ridge Racer and runs at 60 FPS (or 50 FPS in this case) as well. Although this version also have some cutbacks, including lack of day-night cycle, more aggressive LOD and only Time Trial and Time Attack modes are included.
The first video focuses on Normal Courses, and those are pretty much piece of cake.
This was recorded on Retroarch using Beetle HW core. I also enabled PGPX which enables perspective correction and thus makes polygons look more stable.

This game also has those 8 Extra Cars with 2 unlock Methods now:
    1. Shoot down all the Aliens on the Galaxian Mini Game before they fly away
    2. Win the first 4 Races in 1st place
Usually you're given 1 shot to get the 8 Extra Cars but on this game, your guaranteed them no matter what!

Raivop It's okay. I hope you enjoyed your vacay. Anyway, do you have an explanation that could help me out in regards to my question on how to maneuver grip-type cars while drifting?

@@E24KLawson Ahh, yes. Well, maneuvering Grip during the drift is bit different. Pressing brake will enter the drift motion as usual, but once you start to accelerate, the Grip car will leave the drift motion. So you don't need re-adjust car's angle to leave the drift. Also unlike Drift car, Grip cars don't do an automatic turn when you start drifting, meaning you can cut short corners way easier compared to Drift cars.
Also I really should note that even same type cars can differ depending what car model you pick. I.e. for Grip cars, Mercurio handles really well and can cut short corners with ease, but E.O., which is the fastest Grip-type car, has way more loose handling, so you need to start drift motion little more beforehand. All in all, experiment.

Raivop Thank you very much for the explanation. Since I started out with RR7, I have a handle on drift-type cars, more or less. I'll see how long it takes me to adjust to grip-type cars, and good luck for when you go back to RRV for the Tyrant and Pac-Man GP.

@@E24KLawson No problem. And yeah, I will try to get into Pac-Man GP, although unlocking it is pretty annoying because I have to grind kilometers from the Oval track. And I have been thinking recording RR7 playthrough someday, although I'm not sure if I will do the duel/special races in it, because some of them are so hard.
