  • We have always wanted an outdoor pizza oven but were perplexed by prices from $100 to $3,000 for the different types. Do you get Wood, Wood Pellets, Charcoal, or Gas? What are the advantages of each? We have been researching what we thought would be the best quality and very good-performing pizza oven for our backyard cooking. We have weighed all the options and come up with this choice. Check out the video as we unbox and set up our Big Horn Gas pizza oven with under-stone heat and over-top flames for the best high-heat pizza cooking.
    We will have more videos soon, but please check this out, and if you like it Subscribe and like the video. We will share the wins and losses as we begin using this pizza oven. It is best to let someone share their learnings so you don't have to go through all the same steps, or if you do, you know what to expect.
    Check out our Pizza Cooking Gadgets Page, where we will add what we have, like, and use as we review these videos.

    I do not own one yet but depending on your future reviews, since I've come to trust your judgment, I might be a buyer (disclaimer: if my boss let's me). But it's second on my list to the Blackstone. Looks great so far and yes, take extreme caution when using cause that sucker be stokin'!!! You could cook an egg on the cabinet at the same time as baking your pie! I've gotten in the habit of turning a big box over onto its top, open it from the bottom, flare open the bottom flaps of the box (or cut them off), turn the box back to top-side up and then lift the box up and off of the contents. Do so gingerly with inner components, like a pizza stone. That component next to the side flame is probably a flame sensor (similar to a thermocouple). It will shut the gas valve off if the flame blows out for some reason. It would be interesting to see if the wind affects the oven's performance. Love the creativity of the new animation to start the video! Awesome! Give the production staff a raise! Looking forward to Pt. 2 and the oven's maiden voyage! Thanks for sharing, be safe and be well!

      Great point on the box. I usually do that but open the top and flip it upside down. Much better to do it your way. Lol. By the way, if selecting between pizza oven and Blackstone, I would go for Blackstone. Many more options.
      Yeah I figured if I was going to have sone new video topics I needed a different intro the pizza oven videos.

    By the way you were reading the Celsius side. The outer numbers so it was close to 1000 degrees.

      OMG. I am going outside and looking now. I think you are right.

      Yep! You are right and as I read your comment it made perfect sense and I never even thought to double check it. But it makes sense. 100c is 212F so yes, so logical and just completely missed that. Thank you. I feel both grateful and silly. Lol.

    Did you receive some special oven as a promotion ? Because looking at it I can notice a few differences than all the others for sale anywhere on the www. For example the temperature gauge it is white and goes all the way to 1400°F while all the rest have black thermometer that goes up to 700 or 800. The ignition button is red on yours and all the others are black. Yours came with the propane hose attached and looks kind of more inside, while all the rest have just a crappy plastic connector with the hose detached. Just curious because I am on the market for one

      No I ordered mine from Amazon and it came this way. Here is the specific one I ordered if helpful. I don’t think they have changed it as I haven’t had it all that long. Here is the link to the ones in my order history. amzn.to/48SpXJl

    Let me know if you have tried a pizza oven. I would love to hear your early lessons learned.

    You can't measure reflective materials as it will give different temperatures. So point to non-reflective parts.

      @Svdreamchaser  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Ah. Very good. I didn’t know that. I will have to measure inside again. My little thermometer maxes out at 500 degrees so it doesn’t read, it just show dashes.

      @@Svdreamchaser same for me. I have bought the pizza oven yesterday! It will replace my Uuni (Ooni) 2 pellet pizza oven.

    Windex makes good leak detector.

      Cool. I haven’t used that, I always use soapy water but windex would be so much easier. :).
