  • Learned mid-way through this inside look that the no-videorecording policy is indeed enforced.
The purpose of this video was to determine if the less-than flattering online reviews, which include allegations of animal abuse, for the Tbilisi Zoo are warranted, or not.
Online users have made claims of facilities in need of repair, a lack of cleanliness, and an unsafe environment, that along with mistreatment of animals ranging from neglect to cruelty.
The findings, in summary: could the Zoo use better cleaning, repair, and maintenance...compared to other Zoos, yes.
Is the Zoo malnourishing or otherwise abusing animals, compared to other Zoos, no.
Note that for those looking to spend the better part of the day at the zoo, if you are bringing kids, there are picnic areas, and many amusement park rides so it's possible to make the better part of the day there.
If you're an adult, it is smaller than most zoos and doesn't have as many animals as most zoos. It is worth going to if it's one of several things on the agenda for the day. I think most people aren't used to the look and feel compared to a conventional zoo. But it's a fun couple of hours for what it is.

Disappointed with the lack of water in a lot of these enclosures. They need to do better

in most enclosures there was an outdoor area as well as an indoor housing and the indoor housing had water. with that said it wasn't easy to determine how fresh and or clean the water was. the place does need more staff, I'm planning to reach out and see if/how I can help.
