Unclogging Massive Triangular Trash Rack In Vermont

- I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Thanks for watching.

THE MAN, THE MYTH, THE LEGEND!
*POST 10*
Post started doing videos to send to his dad and they slowly took off where more and more people watched them, post was also a electrian and does this as a hobby, post also has a problem with regulating his temperature that’s why he can put his hands in freezing water if you watch all of his videos you will find out all the questions you have asked Iv been watching post for years and he is just a down to earth guy who has a hobby which we like to watch
My son learned last week that he is attending your High School! He was stoked to hear you mentioned in his Radio/Television shop. That’s what he’s planning to take. Keep up the awesome videos.
I have never seen a trash rack like that. I wouldn't have known what it is. Thanks for teaching me something new
It's an absolute pleasure to hang out with you for an afternoon.
And now I'm back in the house.
Cheers matey.
Love from Liverpool UK
Hey Post 10, do you have a video where you tell the story of how you began doing this? Did you work on a maintenance crew at one time? Do you have any other cool stories about people or animals you happen upon in your unclogging travels? Any Sasquatch?
That's a good question. I know he sometimes mentioned that he worked for a private company inspecting culverts or something, but I haven't heard him go into much detail about it except to make a point not to worry about his safety too much nor mimic his actions without training.
He used to be head of The Beaver Wild Life Federation, he protected them and the wetlands. Until they started beefing after he was attacked by a pack of beavers. Now he seeks his revenge going solo.
@@iliketocomment8144 You had me in the first half, not gonna lie.
@@polaxis842 😆
@@polaxis842 Got me too🤣🤣🤣. Was thinking *"Damn, what happened???"*
"Alright guys, lets get these slugs cleared away"! 😝
Thats a crazy structure for being so far out in the woods.
It never occurred to me, but it is a great idea to start out your videos with "Today is XXXX." (Well, once we get our "Hey everyone" from you). That way, we know how recent it is. Consider doing this with all your videos...I really like it.
I just appreciate so much these video treks you take us on… I will never NEVER go in the woods like you do (poison ivy and bugs 😖) yet I absolutely love the water and the beautiful rocks and the greenery and the SECRECY of the forests you find! What an adventure! that I can have, laying on my sofa 😍
Thank you Post 10
Dude, I can so relate. Down here in the South where I live, if something has less than two legs, or more than three legs, it will go out of its way to make you bleed, break something, eat you, or generally make you have one of the worst days of your life. The outside is the enemy. She'll lure you in with her sights, her smells, and her atmosphere. And then she'll break your ankle.
@@lancer525 Thats the way uh huh uh huh I like it
Thank you Post for always finding new things unclog for our entertainment!
Love that Post knows where all these things are!
That trash rack is spectacular! I'd love to see that area when it's under more water. Thanks Post!
That was some nice, loamy soil that formed on that trash rack. Pity there was no way to take it along, since it would have done a garden some good.
Man unclogs random yet probably useful metal triangle in the woods.
Never saw a trash rack like that...that's really substantial! And I totally agree with the rubber boot thing...sure gets muddy in Ohio and I hike 5+ mile hikes in mine. They're great if you come across high stream crossings, ticks, mud, soggy grass...and they are so comfortable, like hiking in slippers lol!
You’re saving the world one culvert at a time......
Lovely green woods, there. That knot-weed thicket made me think of my creek-walking days. I'd pick blackberries and pick up trash, breaking my way through the nettles, wild grapes and poison oak... Keep on trekkin', post 10.
The flowers are Fireweed. So called as they are the fist flower to grow after a fire.
Many thanks for your interesting videos. They are definitely a ‘must watch’. Love from Scotland 🏴
That metal construction looks like a work of art!
I have become like addicted to your videos. 😊
That trash rack was huge ! I can't imagine the amount of water that goes through that ! Very interesting video, thanks.
It looks like someone VASTLY overestimated the size of the local beaver.
If I'm wrong, I don't ever want to meet that beaver.
@@MonkeyJedi99 Probably a project funded by the downstream hydero-electric dam. Invest big up front, and you dont have to pay to excavate a sub-par structure after every storm. Keeps the water flowing to the dam, therefore ensuring optimal electric production
thank you for saying northern Vermont, nice to know where you are doing good
I like how it seems we're in the deepest part of the forest, then turn the camera around and we're next to a parking lot.
Never board with your videos. Thanks for sharing and going places I never would have seen without you taking the challenge. 🙏🤗👍
There is such a great satisfaction seeing the debris removed and especially the large logs you heave to the side like you are a Paul Bunyan.
Reminds me of July in Tennessee with the grass as tall as human being lots of bugs, spiders, etc. when fall and winter came the streams were a lot higher, and all that grass turned brown and was gone. Lots of lakes and streams in Tennessee.
Hi Post. So good to see that you have some new posts available. Always love to listen to you as biology and history are two of my most favourite subjects, combine that with 'playing' with water, you have me hooked. Keep on wearing down those boot treads. Keep safe. Mum, from Adelaide, Australia. 😉👍👍👍
Imagine how big the Beavers are round there !
Great Video ❤ Thanks for sharing your time with all of us ❤ Love walking together in the woods with you ❤
I love your videos, so interesting plus all the areas that you visit your details are factual plus it’s very relaxing to watch another person work 😉 ty for sharing ❤
Thanks for all the videos throughout the years.
First time I have ever seen a structure like that. So cool. Big culverts. Guess we can't blame the beavers for that clog. Always nice seeing nature when we are watching your videos Postie. You take care.
I noticed one for the first time yesterday on the way to TIllamook Oregon.
The trash has been there so long it's composted! Wow. Nice cleanup job as always, Post :)
One of your best videos
Interesting stuff cheers. Chris from England
When you report maintenance needs to the different agencies, do you link them to the videos where you show it?
Are they generally receptive to your reports?
Was wondering the same, do the authorities acknowledge your reports ?
I haven't seen anything like that before, thanks for sharing.
If you were offered a job by the state or local agency of some sort to clear/maintain culverts would you take it? Or would that kinda ruin the fun for you?
He already had(has?) A job involving managing water and culverts and stuff. He's very qualified and could do it for work if he wanted to. It's actually better for us as viewers that he just does it for fun because he travels to do it. Pretty sure he's about 30% complete with all of New England, 80% done with Massachusetts
Thank you post 10 for another great video.i know you have done some abandoned buildings but would you consider doing an abandoned mall?
I never knew you were Pedro Pascal on a wicked community service kick. Good on you Post 10. The Red Viper of the Clogs😂👍👌
I can't imagine how many mosquitos there would be if we were not in a drought! That is a seriously dense area of the woods.
@rg01740 Skeeters like standing water more then just a wet area. Hard for them to plant eggs without a proper water puddle, pond or lake.

One thing is for sure. You put a lot of work /physical labot into your videos. This one no different. Keep up the great videos
Awesome structure.
Great video.
Thanks Post!
👍👍👍👊😎
Post10: You are a popular channel and have quite a following. You could probably get folks to volunteer and help you with large projects. Waiting for the State to do something is basically futile, especially in places like this. If I lived anywhere near you I'd volunteer in a heartbeat. Unfortunately I'm on the other coast of the U.S. Just a thought. Take care!
Was that a trash rack or the remains of a battleship? That was some serious steel.
That looks like structural steel, like for building a high rise with concrete floors
the most perfect video to watch before out the bed. chilling time whit coffe and water sound
Nice to see rain somewhere! We normally start getting rain around Labor Day and we've yet to have any. It is both nice and strange to have it dry this long. Thanks for another awesome video! :-)
Yay! what a great way to start my Friday! Have an awesome weekend Post10
Not sure if you will see my previous post vid was a month old, any way to stop you worrying about the leeches get yourself a pair of good woman's tights, it will stop ticks as well, get them so you can pull them right up if you are going chest deep in the water. Best wishes and keep up the great work you are doing for your community.
Man that Big Bertha of a trash rack is stout…gosh dang. I wonder if they built it all in a fab shop or assembled some on site. That things gotta weigh at least 20,000 lbs. They woulda needed a crane and everything. Seems like overkill don’t ya reckon?
I got that reference 😀
You are very educational! Love listening to your explaining of how things go about❤️
I think it’s funny how I love watching these unclogging videos while relaxing on my couch. You work really hard and help in the most unexpected places and make a difference. I like watching your videos. Nice to see nature and places I never go.
this was an extra fun one to watch, i like how you filmed the whole walk through the woods to the next culvert
that trash rack is unique, i bet no one else has used that method since it was built.
What's it used for? Never heard of one. Thanks for the explanation. I live in the South and we don't have these, we do have neighborhoods that do flood, however.
@@bettyferguson2815 this particular rash racks is used to prevent large debris like boulders and trees from immediately clogging up to culvert.
I like that we never know where you are exploring. Often it looks like you are hours away from civilization and then you climb up the drainage ditch and there are cars parked and it looks like a pretty urban area. 😉
6:03 Western Dusky Slug, (Arion fuscus), also known as the "Dusky Arion"
This guy slugs
You were brave walking through that culvert pipe, it was almost like a railroad tunnel in itself. Those black widow spiders would put me off straight off walking through there. Great vlog as ever Post10👌
Love that triangular structure. Hope to see more of this place in the future.
good work, keep safe
Great video.Thank you for sharing your adventure. ❤😎👏
Is your rake on a well deserved vacation? I’m sure he would have loved scraping those I beams.
I'm very inspired and like your entusiasm regarding these matters. I think you would love the swedish nature.
great job post 10 love it when you clear the street drains x
I would assume something like that massive in the mountains to catch rocks and never in the forest … nice find!
Greetings from Melbourne Australia
Thanks for sharing 🌹🌹🌹
Primitive Technology showed us how to make metal out of that iron sludge! 🤯
Man, at 6:04, all I could think of was Monty Python. "I've got a slug..." 🤣🤣🤣
loved the video. loved your area it's vey beautiful...,thanks
Another,neat episode 😊
Good stuff, as always!!
Awesome content as always
Incredible! 📐
That was awesome. Thank you for the adventure.
Great video! Thank you and glad you are wearing gloves!
Thank you for sharing your time
Another question for you, have you seen or have found human remains or your hikes through the woods , culverts ? Great videos.
I wanna know that too!!! 💀🫱🏻🦷🦴🦴🦴
We're all waiting, but not seen any yet. Bound to happen, though?
So very cool. Thanks man.
I will repeat myself but man your videos are chill and interesting :)
That first culvert was pretty long! Seemed to be over 200 feet?
Its amazing they even have rock pools at the exit to let the water lose its momentum and hence erosive power!!!
Great job 👍
so clear i enjoy your videos
I love a nice Japanese knotwood Forest😊And I can’t imagine how many mosquitoes were there
Another great post video I love em
Thanks Post 10. Good morning from New York
Is there not anywhere you are afraid to go?? Nice work! Loved the gentle flow of water❤
wow this impressive i genuinely cannot believe something like this exists!
I find this so fascinating 🌳🌧
I don't know about the folks in the northeast, but I appreciate the civil service you do. If only the people with storm drains in front of their houses would take responsibility for clearing them,
I am sure your job would be a lot easier.
Now I can safely say Whatta Rack! without offending any of my female friends. Thanks for another entertaining video Post :)
I have never seen anything like that triangular culvert
Love your dedication keep onn
😀👍 / Nice job, Post10!
great video
Reminds me of Nam. Can almost smell the Napalm. LOL
Another great video! I find your productions very relaxing.
What do you do for a living? Something in the world of conservation?
Great clean up as usual! Very interesting contraption. Definitely built to last. Do you every come across raccoons in your travels in the wilderness?
G/Day mate it was 18c here today and i was bloody cold how do you deal with this cold ???
Post10, can you please start one off your videos saying "Hello everyone, this is your daily dose of internet"
I think you sound exactly like him :P
