As always, perfect! I was holding my breath but then I thought, this is Andrew, he has this! Oh, so many times I smeared a nice paint job with glue or paint! I see beauty in every casting, I need to get one of these!
Thanks, Mark. I was holding my breath and crossing my fingers too when peeling that tape off. You never know... Came out well this time with careful prep. My troubles have come when I've been too impatient. I let this one set up overnight and put a clear coat on the blue before masking. These old Euro castings are easy to come by over here, as you can imagine. I keep my eyes open and snag them when I see them. I think this one tumbled out of one of my eBay hauls. Have a good one, brother. 👊✌️
Citroen 2CV is such an icon of french cars. It is so quickly recognized by any car guy. Great choices made color and wheels. Terrific tip on the chrome scrapping idea, genius ! I agree with David, more European cars in the future. Thanks for what you do to give back.

I had the horrifying pleasure of riding shotgun in a friend's 2CV through Stuttgart in the 80s (late turbo version I believe, floored most of the time). Fascinating vehicle. Thanks for sharing, lovely work.
In my childhood I saw some Dyanes ... not as much as the Duck (2CV) ... and nowadays it is much of luck to see a Dyane at a classic car meeting. Really a cool car. The result of your restoration is awesome. Great work on the roof and the new wheels are also looking better.

I’m starting to collect 1/64 and some 1/24 scale diecast vehicles. Well I have quite a few now, lol. It’s so addicting. I think I’ll have to give some of my hotwheels and match box to good will for other kids to enjoy as well and just keep what I like the most. I would like to start doing details and wheel swaps on some of my cars too. It’s something I always enjoyed to do when building plastic models as a child. Now I’m gonna half to find some shelfs to display my collection. Hoping my girlfriend will let me have a spot or two in out place to display them, lol
It's a great hobby. I had them as a kid, of course, but just got started in doing makeovers in March this year - right when the COVID-19 shutdown began. You should give it a try. Doing the CZcams channel just keeps a record of my work. Still a beginner here! Thanks for watching and commenting. ✌️

Good catch, Chris! I've heard it mistakenly referred to as a Bond car. It was indeed in For Your Eyes Only, but as an emergency escape vehicle from some kind of impossible situation, which got totally trashed, as I recall! @@MapleLeafCustoms In dee, Dyane was the cabrio platfor for the 2CV, i also see those around here. We had a Citroen factory so we had alot of them, including red cross and army. There are exclusive Portuguese editions for the Dyane with the fenders painted the same color as the top, also diferent color doors, the Dyane Dianissima and the Dyane Nazaré. Catch ya later.
Magnifique! I know toy purists will be offended because the wheels and the color identifies this car as a "Corgi Juniors", but I prefer realism over brand identity. The color and wheels swaps will delight the child that sees his or her toy on the road. These toys are tough to come by in the U.S. It involves a search at flea markets or eBay. Finding them at affordable prices is an additional challenge. To find the older 2CV in non-mint, salvageable and affordable for me took about 18 months. Thanks also for your tips. Scraping the tacky paint off seemed to work better for me. Gotta be careful of leaving fingerprints though. I held the car with my hemostats. And there was no touchup required in this case. It's much easier to remove paint than trying to do those miniature door handles with a brush or chrome pen. I've had those pens going just great and then... a flood of chrome comes pouring out! Disaster! The scraping is just another skill we need to practice and perfect. Have a good one, brother! 👊

nice colour choice, looks better than the odd metallic-yellow any day. :) the wheels are proper as well. :) the Dyane was meant to eventually replace the 2CV with a bigger, more comfortable car. but it had the same engines, and was only larger, aka. heavier, and otherwise not really more comfy. so it was eventually discontinued while they still built 2CV in portugal a few years longer. a friend of mine had a rundown Dyane with 29HP. it was a cruiser if ever, but refused to break. :)
Yeah, it seems everyone does these in yellow, so I wanted to change it up. I also got lucky in finding the wheels off of a made-in-China Beetle in my junk box. Thanks as always for your information on these little cars. You're a car encyclopedia and that's cool! 👍👊

Everyone does this one in yellow, so we've changed it up from the normal. The wheels came out of my junk drawer from a made-in-China VW Beetle. Hi Chip, these old Euro models are pretty easy to come by over here, as you can imagine. Usually a few of these type show up in the eBay hauls I get. The worse shape they're in when I get them, the better they look all done up! BTW, got my Tonkas in the mail yesterday - 5 to choose from for your birthday build. nice colour choice, looks better than the odd metallic-yellow any day. :) the wheels are proper as well. :)
the Dyane was meant to eventually replace the 2CV with a bigger, more comfortable car. but it had the same engines, and was only larger, aka. heavier, and otherwise not really more comfy. so it was eventually discontinued while they still built 2CV in portugal a few years longer. a friend of mine had a rundown Dyane with 29HP. it was a cruiser if ever, but refused to break. :)
Yeah, it seems everyone does these in yellow, so I wanted to change it up. I also got lucky in finding the wheels off of a made-in-China Beetle in my junk box. Thanks as always for your information on these little cars. You're a car encyclopedia and that's cool! 👍👊

Everyone does this one in yellow, so we've changed it up from the normal. The wheels came out of my junk drawer from a made-in-China VW Beetle. Hi Chip, these old Euro models are pretty easy to come by over here, as you can imagine. Usually a few of these type show up in the eBay hauls I get. The worse shape they're in when I get them, the better they look all done up! BTW, got my Tonkas in the mail yesterday - 5 to choose from for your birthday build. But I'm not going to do a Matchbox Mark. One at a time is enough for me! Have a good one, and be safe out there. 👊✌️
