This reminds me of a dark time in my life. I was locked up the last time (5th time) on assault and caught a gun charge. My dad passed away while i was in there. I hadn't got to talk to him for a long time bc he couldn't accept my calls on his phone he had. I got a 7 hr furlough to go to his funeral. Luckily i didnt have to be shackled in front of my family. When i got out i changed my life and am now sober for many yrs and have two kids and im living the best life ive ever had! Its possible people! You just have to want it. Keep your head up. I thought i was having fun with that life but i am so much happier now. Thats not the life to live. Theres so much more in this world, enjoy it all! Dont take nothing for granted and enjoy every second. Life is way too short!!!

@@russellhill-dz3rr while living that life I always had a ton of people around. My house was never empty. There could be up to 20 or 30 people around or as little as just one but always someone there. I miss hanging out and just having a good time. I had some fun times and have some great stories from then but as soon as I got sober all that stopped. Everyone slowly stopped coming around. There was a few that still would stop by but a couple of the good ones that were actually my friends have passed and or so far gone now with drugs that I cant have them around with all that. That is what sucks about it all. But to change yourself you have to change your environment, atleast for me anyway. I now work and go home to the family and I love it but a part of me still misses having all the people around sometimes. Don't seem like I have anyone as close to me now as I did then, or so I thought. I now see that most of them weren't there for "me" bc once everything stopped and it was just me they stopped coming around. You really do find out who your friends are afterwards.
