Her character in the movie is a woman living in a very violent marriage. The man that looked like he didn’t like her was her husband and he is very controlling. He wouldn’t allow her to sing and be a part of the choir and this is the first time she performs and everyone hears her sing.
The movie “Så som i himmelen” (as it is in heaven English title) is a really great Swedish movie.

The movie was actually nominated for an Oscar as best movie in a foreign language 2005.

It’s a “feel good” movie. It deals with bullying, domestic abuse, self-confidence and loving yourself for who you are. I just tear up thinking about it. I love this movie. It was nominated for an Oscar in the “foreign language” category but didn’t win.

The guy behind her to the right is the tragically late Michael Nyqvist from movies like John Wick and Mission Impossible. A terrific actor that sadly died far to young.

Its about domestic violence and breaking free from your abuser. I would really recommend you to look it up. When you watch the movie, you can't hear this without bursting into tears. This is so emotional! Even now almost 20 years later I can't hear the first 2 notes without bawling my eyes out..

Hello again! Helen plays the wife of an abusing husband (the guy you thought was here ex). The song is written for Gabriella by the church musician who noticises her struggle (she is a member of the church choir) and it is about finding youself after abuse.

    I love this movie!
The guy that doesnt look to happy is actually her husband, whos a domestic abuser. He doesn't like her singing in the choir at all, wich explains the grumpy face. Later in the movie she leaves him.
I really recommend to see this movie

(Movie context:) The lady singing is in a horrific, abusive relationship with the dude standing in the back with brown hair. Her spirit is completley broken & she joins a church-choir were the new guy leading the choir sees her potential & inner voice, so he writes her this song for her to sing in front of people.

Sorry but so meaningless to react to a song from a movie and not knowing what the movie is about. And the movie insert is compressed and flatened.
