In this comic, the protagonist "Remu" is also wrong. the only one in the team that tells him that he is useless is Alvar... and, in this story it isn't just about being strong, but actually gaining popularity by making a good show. So Remu really is a problem here. Sure, maybe he couldn't show people why he did what he did... but quitting and going against his childhood friend here just shows that he is a piece of trash. I mean look at it from this POV. Remu was NOT kicked out. Remu was defended by his childhood friend and the other people just pointed out the obvious that "maybe he wasn't the best fit". Heck, even Alvar told him to prove him wrong. So what does Remu do? He quits and takes a dump on his childhood friend, telling him that he will basically ruin him. ... So... was it really worth defending a guy like that? Remu was a piece of trash here IMHO.

Title is totally wrong. It's a lot more complex than that. This is one of the few "getting kicked from the hero's party" trope that was well-made instead of the generic trash we usually see.

Remu was trash. Alvar just spoke in a rude tone, but actually told Remu to show him that he wasn't useless. Remu declined. So how was this Alvar's mistake? Remu could have proven it, but decided not too. Remu then abandoned his team and all his friends, including his best friend and childhood friend and basically betrayed them. Remu is a piece of trash.

Remember how Remme pointed out that magic was only allowed for day-to-day tasks during the whole incident with the thief? Had Remme taken Alvar's bait, Alvar could have gotten Remme into trouble by exploiting that exact rule (as it would have been made obvious that Remme had used his Black Magic on Alvar "illegally", whereas with the thief, Remme's involvement was far more subtle and easy to miss....Mira only noticed because she already knew what to look for and what Remme could actually do), most likely in an attempt to get Remme ejected/banned from future raids anyway. Just because Alvar claimed that he would apologize doesn't mean that he actually _would_ do so had Remme taken Alvar's bait. Alvar is clearly not the trustworthy type, and Remme was smart to not take his bait and handle the situation the way he did. Keep in mind, even though Luck and Lily did not explicitly say that they wanted to kick Remme out of the team, they also did not actively defend him like Phoenix did. That turned the situation into Alvar trying to bully Remme out of the team while Phoenix tried to defend him, but Alvar just twisted Phoenix's arguments to make it look like Phoenix was just trying to stand up for his childhood friend than defending Remme's actual skills. This way, Remme gets to prove Alvar wrong in the best possible way: during a raid when the entire world is watching in order to prove how wrong Alvar was about Black Mages, and where Alvar cannot claim that Remme used his magic "illegally".
I enjoyed this one for a while, but man I got tired of the MC and Mira's relationship. It's constantly in this weird stagnant place where she obviously likes him and he... maybe likes her when he remembers to stop thinking about work for five seconds? At least that's how it goes in the light novel. Maybe he'll get better in the manga.
They get jiggy with it in Chapter 11 of the manga, so the manga must be different from the LN. The MC's name should be pronounced Rem-may because of the symbol over the last E. It looks and sounds like a French name. But in the USA, it's changed to Rem-mee because we don't use the symbols above alphabet letters and often change the spelling so more Americans will say it correctly. Similar to how we say the name of the Marvel comics X-man code named Gambit, Remy Etienne LeBeau.

Especially for a name repeated a lot, all you have to do is type in a word and have it read it until you get the correct pronunciation. That's why I gave examples. In case the person who owns the channel didn't know or if English is not their first or best language. I can read a bit of French because, I took French classes in High School 30 years ago. Plus, my family is French and a lot of our records and writings within the family (to relatives still in France) are in French. I know a lot about the inflection and I have a degraded French accent, but I read French far better than I speak it because almost no one in the USA speaks true French on a regular basis. For comparison, Louisiana state has a larger % mixture of Cajun and Creole, with only some true French speakers--mainly in the restaurant/hospitality industry.

Well his debuffs are op but they aren’t insane op. When the werewolves are talking they talk about him halving their speed which is op but it’s not complete like immobility and stuff like that. I mean even the spirit users struggle a bit without buffs and phoenix was like 1 in a century, so someone who doesn’t even have magic attacks would not be able to go solo.

I agree with you but when you form a party there are secrets that should be kept secrets but the MC and hero could have told them that “my debuffs are the reason we are fourth in the world” they might have accepted it and not investigate how he learned this power.
I don't know for certain and this is just a big guess, but maybe black magic taught by humans only works on demons or demis, but black magic used and taught by demons works on humans, so him using black magic against a human teammate may uncover the fact that he was taught by a demon? Again just a guess and I'm making a huge assumption about how black magic works in that world, but it's the only thing I can think of that makes any sense in that scenario.

The trope hidding-your-powers-to-the-rest because some far fetch excuse in the script is getting so old. It's logical that if you go hiding what good you do, nobody will believe you and in fact, treat you like a fifth wheel. His friend, the hero, stands with him because he knows the truth, but nothing else. If it was so important to keep it quiet, then they shouldn't expose themselves so much, and be a famer or a fruit retailer like Cashew.
not really in this case, he hides his power because on old times the demon lord used that kind of power (black magic) to torture humans and bring all kind of chaos and pain to them, so if people discovers that he has that kind of power, we all know what would happen, don't we?... but even with all that and him being stuck on that class from the beginning he still had his dreams and chose to go after it so he couldn't just not try and be famer or whatever like you said

A party taking a member's gear is a clear indicator to a guild the party is in the wrong
The MC's name should be pronounced Rem-may because of the symbol over the last E. It looks and sounds like a French name. But in the USA, it's changed to Rem-mee because we don't use the symbols above alphabet letters and often change the spelling so more Americans will say it correctly. Similar to how we say the name of the Marvel comics X-man code named Gambit, Remy Etienne LeBeau.

@@Fujoshi1412 It's reading off a script which can be written in such a way as to pronounce the name correctly. Especially for a name repeated a lot, all you have to do is type in a word and have it read it until you get the correct pronunciation. That's why I gave examples. In case the person who owns the channel didn't know or if English is not their first or best language. I can read a bit of French because, I took French classes in High School 30 years ago. Plus, my family is French and a lot of our records and writings within the family (to relatives still in France) are in French. I know a lot about the inflection and I have a degraded French accent, but I read French far better than I speak it because almost no one in the USA speaks true French on a regular basis. For comparison, Louisiana state has a larger % mixture of Cajun and Creole, with only some true French speakers--mainly in the restaurant/hospitality industry.

He cannot do attacks I think. While he can debuff everybody extreamly, he cannot cause fiscal damage
Well his debuffs are op but they aren’t insane op. When the werewolves are talking they talk about him halving their speed which is op but it’s not complete like immobility and stuff like that. I mean even the spirit users struggle a bit without buffs and phoenix was like 1 in a century, so someone who doesn’t even have magic attacks would not be able to go solo.

I agree with you but when you form a party there are secrets that should be kept secrets but the MC and hero could have told them that “my debuffs are the reason we are fourth in the world” they might have accepted it and not investigate how he learned this power.

I don't know for certain and this is just a big guess, but maybe black magic taught by humans only works on demons or demis, but black magic used and taught by demons works on humans, so him using black magic against a human teammate may uncover the fact that he was taught by a demon?
Again just a guess and I'm making a huge assumption about how black magic works in that world, but it's the only thing I can think of that makes any sense in that scenario.
Kinda spoilers but in the chapter right after this it explains why he can’t show too strong black magic and why he chose to leave.

not really in this case, he hides his power because on old times the demon lord used that kind of power (black magic) to torture humans and bring all kind of chaos and pain to them, so if people discovers that he has that kind of power, we all know what would happen, don't we?... but even with all that and him being stuck on that class from the beginning he still had his dreams and chose to go after it so he couldn't just not try and be famer or whatever like you said
