I live in Australia and we do not do or have 'summer camp' we have 'Holiday school care' which is held at day cares and they do daily activities that involve going somewhere on the bus. You can book your child in for the same amount of hours that you mentioned around 6 hours - flexible in AUS no extra charge if over on the hours. In AUS parents also get a rebate of about roughly 30% back if both parents working up to around combined income $130,000AU. After that it goes down the rebate. So conversion from US to AU living conditions it works out about $115AU per day. In AU we would only pay after rebate about $60 per day. That also includes all meals. Interesting the difference Australia to US. I love how you mention real figures of real living with children. Different countries with different set ups and rebates for families with young children. I would love to know how much it costs to send a child to school through standard government school system. We pay $7AU per student for a primary school aged child up to the age of 11 years old for the full year. YES that is correct. :) High school up to 18 years of age no extra fancy subjects $33AU per year.
