- In today's travel Mexico video, we explore the small town of Tzintzuntzan, Michoacán to see how this Pueblo Magico is preparing for Día de Muertos 2018! We visit the cemetery in this village and are able to see how families are preparing for Noche de Muertos. We also take a stroll through the artisan market, where craftsmen have created works primarily with wood as well as straw.
👉What Is Día De Muertos?👈
Día de Muertos is recognized by the UNESCO World Heritage Organization and is celebrated in Mexico in some places for an entire week, ending on November 2. This holiday honors dead loved ones with festivals and celebrations filled with food, drink, parties, and activities that loved ones enjoyed during life. During Día de Muertos, deceased loved ones are also a part of the community, awakened from their eternal sleep to share celebrations with family and friends. One of the most iconic symbols of Día de Muertos is without a doubt, the calaveras or skulls, which appear everywhere during the holiday. These calaveras are found all across Mexico during this time--in the form of sugar, chocolate, painting on faces and more.
Families of loved ones build ofrendas, or altars in homes and cemeteries. These altars are meant to welcome spirits back to their loved ones. They are loaded with things such as food, photos, candles, pan de muerto (bread of the dead), and other things the loved one enjoyed during life. Marigolds are the main flowers and are used to guide spirits to their altar. This is truly a celebration of the life of friends and family and is a very intimate, joyful time to remember those that have died.

Thank you all so much for 100k! We have some big plans coming up to celebrate. We will announce something on social media @KineticKennons in the next few days! :)
when is the big meal?
I can't wait
Can't wait to celebrate this great achievement. Bravo amigos😎
I think it might be a very profound experience to grieve within a community of friends and neighbors who are also experiencing those feelings. Like Helen Keller said, "when someone dies those left behind feel so alone, but they have actually joined the biggest club in the world." The celebrations that follow must contain not only memories of those who have passed, but appreciation for the others who share the experience.
Surreal..very beautiful way to celebrate our passed loved ones!!
This video was very touching! 😌😌😌😌 congrats guys.
Wow!! The feeling of seeing children's tombs, with balloons, bottles of milk and food that they used to like is powerful.
But it's also nice to think that their families still remember them and honor them.
Hrmosisimo tu comentario Diana, gracias a el me has hecho lagrimar, gracias.
7:23-7:33 you almost made me cry!! When i was 22 my mom died of breast cáncer , she was only 51 . I miss her so much!!

I was remembering my Parents and my brother who are all buried here in the USA .If I were to go to the Cemetery today .The Cemetery would look so sad .I whish the USA would have more celebrations across the country to remember our loved ones who have passed on .Of course we have memorial day ,but this is more of a Military remembrance .
You can do it even if you're not in México 🙂
Your videos get better and better every time. I love how although you’re not experts in some of the topics y’all talk about, it’s always with respect and just the insight of you two traveling and experiencing all this is amazing. Your kids and grandkids are going to be so lucky with all the stories y’all are going to share with them.
To pay respect to the love you still feel for those who are no longer with us physically. To honor their life, their teachings and what they meant for us. To celebrate our moments toguether. To keep them present in our hearts, to develop much more in our minds and our hearts what we lived together, to forgive, to grow, to feel free, to feel love and to feel alive because death is part of life and a constant reminder life is precious.
Well said amigo. Much better than I could say it!

Hola amigos! Saludos amigos!!! ; D
Cempasuchil is insanely beautiful because looks like fire and I imagine how our beloved ones cannot resist its magical radiance from the distance. Your message at the end made me feel a lump in my throat. Together forever
Thank you so much. Times like this reminds me of how we use to wake up early to go buy flowers for the altars. How joyous was to spend time at the cemetery for Day of the Death. Only time of the year when we weren’t afraid to be left alone as a child near a grave. 😆 embracing my traditions with my child being so far from home is a challenge but he loves learning about our roots and with your amazing videos is easier!! Thanks 🙏
Thank you for sharing with us my beautiful country of Mexico. You guys are an insperation to all the Mexican immigrants that live away from home. You help us remember that our country is a beautiful place and that we should be very proud of where we came from. Thank you and may God bless you
Gregori perfectly explained the feeling and value of the celebration
HI AMIGUITOS ES HERMOSO EL CEMENTERIO EN ESTOS DIAS Y RECORDAR A LOS QUE YA NO ESTAN CON NOSOTROS ES MAS BELLO 💀💀💀💀🌺🌸🌼💐TANTO QUE HASTA GOLLITO SE EMOCIONO PORQUE???PORQUE MEXICO ES ASI ES HERMOSO💗💛💀💀🌹💞💖💜💚

It’s hard not to get emotional being there and seeing all that’s taking place.. it is powerful indeed and it’s definitely a mixture of many emotions, happiness, sadness and everything in between. Tzintzuntzan is a very magical little town full of very talented artisans I remember going there as a kid and need to rerun again to all that area of Michoacán, especially on Día de Muertos. The scenery there is breathtaking as well. Thank you guys and congrats on your 100k subscribers... I remember when you had less than 300 subscribers that’s when I subscribed.. you guys have come a long way and have grown so much as people.. life and travel teaches us so much. Thank you for showing it to the whole world.
You know how much I love you.
I send you a hug my dear geeks! 🤗
People from michoacan still preserve the tradition s great video
