    Thank you so much! The first 50 secs taught me what I needed 😃 TinkerCAD - export.

    Thank you. I was looking for this tutorial for days.... Since I'm a total beginner with Inkscape there was a steap learning curve for me, but I found all the menu's after some tinkering and it worked out great. Thanks, Im gonna use this a lot!

    Thank you, this worked perfectly for me and the node simplification made it easier to work with

      Super cool! I find that to be one of my favorite features of Inkscape. I have not spotted it in Lightburn.

    I guess the cutter should be calibrated as the crab is a little to "high" on the wood.

      My Glowforge was always a mm off. It uses autocalibrate for Z, so I just got used to aiming low.

    I noticed that you need to be sure that the shape in TinkerCAD needs to be pulled underneath the plane of the workspace or it will not appear on the .svg file that you drop into Inkscape.

      I get what you are saying. A better way to say it, may be, that the SVG is only 2D and is created from the surface that is fully on the workplane.

    Is it possible to use Adobe Ai?

    • @HLModTech
      @HLModTech  Před rokem +1

      I have not played with Adobe AI. I did use AI cut out in PixlrX to cut out the cardboard car for the thumbnail. It was super cool!

    this is NOT an "STL" to SVG conversion how to video... this is an "SVG" to Laser Cutter Video.

    • @HLModTech
      @HLModTech  Před 5 měsíci

      Ah... you are correct. That crab is imported into Tinkercad as a STL. I did not show that step in the video though. 🤦‍♂️ Do you know how to import a STL into Tinkercad? I can track down a tutorial for that if you need one.

      @@HLModTech Hey, No thanks, I know how to do that. I was actually having trouble exporting from TinkerCad to SVG. I have a really complicated design that just wasnt exporting properly. The SVG file would be almost empty... with just header info in it. No coords. So when I searched for "STL to SVG Converter" I found your video... and was quite disapointed when I realized.. thats not what the video is about :) I ended up just redesigning the project in LightBurn. But thanks anyway!
